Recorded in Switzerland the same day PMJ recorded Creep, one week after Haley joined PMJ on their 2015 European tour, Haley’s first professional tour (post American Idol tour). Also has the distinction of the first time Scott did something he’d not done before, both All About That Bass and Creep were the first time Scott covered a song he’d already covered. All About That Bass was previously covered by PMJ with Kate Davis. Looking forward to Elizabeth’s reaction ✌🏻

Not only that, but she's clearly deliberately dressed and coiffed to *look* like a Barbie Doll in this video: both the dress and especially the straight hair are not her normal style, and they definitely look like something you'd see in a Barbie package :)

Haley is so fun to see sing. Personally I think she's the most talented singer PMJ has employed. She has that jazz, swing style ability and she can really belt as well as emote. Love the smokey quality she puts in her voice as well.
Ariana Savalas is daughter of Actor Telly Savalas (Kojak). Re: Cruella Deville. Ariana has started going into the burlesque end of entertainment. I love her 'buttery' vocals, so smooth. During this tour, Ariana would play the 'femme fatale' role, sometimes going into the crowd where she would spot an 'older' man and use him as a prop, sliding around and beguiling the gentleman. Sometimes she's the host of the show, calling herself a 'Femme-C' and has a wicked sense of humor. To be honest, all three women in this video have amazing and hilarious senses of humour. I love everything about this whole arrangement! All of the jazz references to Satchmo, the jazz chanteuses of the era and when the last female singer takes over the background music reference to Sinatra. This was outstanding!
One of the most packed PMJ videos with outstanding lineup. Great introduction to two new singers, Casey is at his best when doing silly stuff like here, and he is a great singer with raspy voice. Ariana Savalas is one of my favourites and her Jessica Rabbit impersonations are just... sizzling.
She, and Morgan and one more who I sadly can not remember the name of where the female singers the first time I saw them. Casey was there as well, and Scott on piano. That was best concert I have ever been too. Small, fully packed locale. I stood maybe 10 meters from the stage. Ariana was perfect as a sultry night club singer.

My favorite Morgan James PMJ cover is "Maps" but if Elizabeth wants to hear Morgan's operatic side, she flexes some vocals on her cover of "Take Me to Church" w/ PMJ
Haley really has the 20s/30s sultry movements down. She's fully inhabiting that character and it comes across in her vocals. It reminds me of Brizzy's vocal impressions if you've seen her rendition of Alphabet Aerobics.
Elizabeth, I hardly ever post on Facebook, but I shared this about 10-12 years ago. We are not alone in loving this. It's also my favorite version of this song...
I only recently came across you channel and content. Now as a person who has always enjoyed many different varieties of music, you (Elizabeth) have made me actually love and appreciate it more than I ever could have imagined it. As a person that has absolutely zero musical talent, I do not always understand what you are speaking of. Nor do I always hear what you do, but it brings in a whole new depth to music that I was able to hear, understand, and appreciate. So I thank you very much for opening up my eyes, well actually ears to this other side of music I now enjoy. I hope you actually manage to see and read this comment, however unlikely it is with all the others here. A side note, I love how giddy and excited you get with certain aspects of the songs and singers you are reacting to.
I love how you break down the technical aspects of the vocals and still get into and appreciate the emotive qualities. And also just get into the little subtleties and nuances of the individual character moments that make the videos themselves entertaining and human.
I know this is an old video, so this comment might not get seen, but if I'm not mistaken that bass solo is even more than is apparent. The two guys playing bass are sharing the parts between their hands - in other words, they are each fretting one part but playing the strings for the other part. So they each have to know two different bass parts at the same time. That happens for the first half of the bass solo, then when they switch places they are each playing their own part with two hands. I hope this makes sense. I wasn't sure at first, but if you look closely at their sleeves, the hands playing each bass part are from two different jackets.
Coming back to inform you that I can not get enough of this video since you reacted to it. Very happy to find Morgan James through this, as well as PMJ. Thanks.
They're all great but Haley's special in that she seems to know her voice so well that she is able to use it as a toy almost. She has such an impressive set of vocal tools to express whatever the song needs and gets so much in character with songs that you'd think she is one of the classic, defining artists in any genre she sings.
I was a bit surprised that as a pro musician that you'd never seen bass for four hands before now. I love your attention to the little details and subtleties in your reviews. I was never a pro, just a violinst & violist in school orchestas & string ensembles, pit orchestras, etc... a with a smidge of civic stuff, and some vocals in choirs & chorus. Mostly low harmony, so I have quasi-decent relative pitch and know enough music theory to have a rough idea where I'm screwing things up. Sometimes. I want to say it is pure-D pleasure to watch your music reactions, because of your lovely attitude, expressiveness, and that you catch so many details others miss. Especially from all the musicians, not just the solos or lead vocals. Thank you for some great content! (I also really enjoy Tea Time. 😁)
There is a group called Walk Off the Earth. They have crazy creative ways of covering songs. The one that I think made them really popular is their cover of Somebody I Use to Know where all 5 of them play on 1 guitar. It is amazing
I've seen this video over a hundred times as I love it soooo much and I never noticed the wave from the guy at the back at the end until you mentioned it 🤣
Loved this! As I said in the live chat, PMJ also did a really stripped down version with Kate Davis which is delicious. My other suggestion for you Elizabeth is to have a listen to Blackbriar. I've just found them and have fallen in love with Zora's voice. There's a great live acoustic version of "Mad Woman in the Attic" which shows her range. They classify themselves as Alternative Metal-Goth...there's definitely a sense of penny dreadfuls about them :) xx
Elizabeth, you are undoubtedly as expressive in your face and verbal critiques as any music reactor on RUclips. So entertaining and informative. My mother often reminded her kids, “If you don't have anything good to say about someone, try not saying anything”. You are so positive/creative, you don't seem to ever reach that point. Love you! Here's a suggestion... I would love to see and hear your reaction to it: I grew up listening to the band Heart. Of the two Wilson sisters, Ann had always been known as the powerhouse lead rock vocalist. “These Dreams” came along when the band was being reinvented in the big-hair 80s. It is one of the few songs where Ann's acoustic-guitarist sister Nancy actually wore the lead vocalist hat. Although projecting a softer timbre and technique, this live reprise in their home town years later proves that a much more mature Nancy was still no slouch. Heart - These Dreams (Live In Seattle) 2015 ruclips.net/video/0DLeH2FWFTE/видео.html
I’d love to see your reaction to Haley singing “My Baby Just Cares for Me” with Jeff Goldblum’s band. I’m honestly not sure there’s much to analyze from a vocal perspective, but it’s just so FUN that I know you’d love it. I don’t see many other people reacting to it though, so it’s either just not well known, or VEVO gets them taken down.
Speaking of making a cover your own this is it! I don't recall ever having such a ball watching a performance. Both PMJ and your reaction were pure joy. Thank you.
About the wave by Chip at the end, PMJ has a way of hiding the drummers almost totally. It's kind of a thing with them, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
To complete the journey with PMJ you need to react to one of their first singers Robyn Adele Anderson (and one of my favorites). Try the song "Thrift Shop" (maybe you want to listen to the original first so you can apreciate how much they change the song) and then try to explain how she manage to find time to breathe during the song. Also you can apreciate the work of Scott on the keyboard which os AMAZING.
This is the video that I discovered both the wonderful and beautiful voices that Haley and Morgan have. They are both very talented and beautiful women and singers. I am absolutely hooked on them.
I recommend you should listen to Blackbriar. Their songs Deadly Diminuendo and The Séance are amazing. The vocalist Zora has a beautiful voice and I think you'll love it. I just recently started listening to them and I'm in love.
Elizabeth, never mind the song title, it's all about your face! I could watch you smile with that cute little fox nose all day long! You've got such a pretty face! And, you've got a great ear and appreciation for music and other peoples' voices. I really like the way you articulated why as to the bones you tossed out to Morgasma James in this review, 'cuz truly, when she steps up to the plate she drove a grand slam all the way downtown! What POWER and CONTROL and like you noticed, kept right on smiling right through it! Yes, she made it look easy, but that's on accounta because she traded in her baby rattle for a mic! I was quite fortunate to catch her here in Calgary at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, with the Calgary Philharmonic Orch, and as expected, she brought down the house! I don't know who the producer was that brought her to town, but if you're reading this, a big tip o' the hat to ya! Anyways, thanks for doing this review and hopefully I'll see you review another great band or singer again soon!
PMJ/Ariana's cover of "Blank Space" is her ultimate performance IMO. We hope you'll do a reaction to that eventually, too, Elizabeth. This was a wonderful reaction, thank you!
And Haley can convert me to literally anything, everything about her is perfection, from voice to physical, how She chooses to do things, moves and sings.
Two of the generally lesser talked about PMJ covers that I'd really like you to take a look at would be the Doo Wop quartet cover of "MMMbop" and "Stacy's Mom" with Casey Abrams which is in my opinion one of the most fun ones they've done.
Casey and Haley met as contestants on American Idol. They both made "Top 10" and were considered by many as being something of an item. Casey is an incredible musician in his own right.
The song is amazing as it is, and the performance is .. just really special. But also YOUR reaction as you display on your face is just delightful. So much joy (made me even cry)

I think this vid was how I found PMJ. Love these gals, and PMJ as a whole!
Me too. Consequently I bought several of their songs.
I love how you break down the technical aspects of the vocals and still get into and appreciate the emotive qualities. And also just get into the little subtleties and nuances of the individual character moments that make the videos themselves entertaining and human.
Morgan just oozes charisma - her timing, inflexion, characterisation: brilliant!
11:13 The cutest reaction i've seen in my life hahaha I love your little giggles and your excitement 💖
Yay, the ladies did awesome job for taking a swing with this song. A waaaaaayy better than the original.
Love Post Modern Jukebox. Every time they come on my Playlist, I'm excited
I'm impressed with the fact that this is all recorded in one shot. Excellent video as always! :)
Very first PMJB song I ever saw. Classic! Try out Ariana Savalas doing "Pony" some time. Witnessed that live and I think the theater caught on fire.
I have watched this video dozens of times, I never saw the drummer wave in the background. Love your videos, Thank you!
There is a group called Walk Off the Earth. They have crazy creative ways of covering songs. The one that I think made them really popular is their cover of Somebody I Use to Know where all 5 of them play on 1 guitar. It is amazing
my thought exaclty when she talked about that. Also "One" played on one guitar by Rob Scallon: watch?v=yzwPZ27ju5I
Their Version of Feliz Navidad is hilarious...
Came to the comments to mention this one too.

It is amazing. Sad to say the piano guy is no longer with them. RIP 😔 He was awesome.
@@jtimgray 😢
They make it seem so effortless. Notice how everyone is having fun; Casey Abrams sitting in the back is enjoying this so much. ♥
Casey and Haley are amazing covering "Cant Help Falling in Love".
I would love to see and hear your reaction to it:
I grew up listening to the band Heart.

Oh yes ! This is a great suggestion ! Please , Elizabeth , listen to Heart / the Wilson sisters ! Please, listen to both of them ! ...
That's a masterful performance by Haley.
You should check out some Post Modern Jukebox videos with Tambourine guy! I feel like you'd get a kick out of him.
@@renscool527 Absolutely. The cover of Ozzy's Crazy Train is the knockout for that. =)
Your joy when ya find something...tickles the hell outta me....makes it all real
Robyn is an under appreciated voice in the PMJ roster. Most of the “rise of PMJ” was with her up front @ the mic
Yep, Robyn is a great talent also.
I second this, but my recommendation would be Snow White and Rose Red, as then you get to react to both Zora and Ulli Perhonen.
Yes, I've been suggesting Blackbriar to Elizabeth too :)
And Haley can convert me to literally anything, everything about her is perfection, from voice to physical, how
She chooses to do things, moves and sings.
Two of the generally lesser talked about PMJ covers that I'd really like you to take a look at would be the Doo Wop quartet cover of "MMMbop" and "Stacy's Mom" with Casey Abrams which is in my opinion one of the most fun ones they've done.
Ohh I love this song, awesome!!! I am so looking forward to your reaction.
Casey and Haley met as contestants on American Idol. They both made "Top 10" and were considered by many as being something of an item. Casey is an incredible musician in his own right.
How did they consider themselves? 😂 I think that's what counts...
@@ellenmarch3095 From what I saw during the contest, Casey considered them to be something of a "duo". Haley, not so much. 😎
My favorite of both of these singers is "Baby it's Cold Outside". Haley really shows off her playfulness in that video.
The song is amazing as it is, and the performance is .. just really special. But also YOUR reaction as you display on your face is just delightful. So much joy (made me even cry)
Please review James Brown and Pavarotti "This is a mans World" I've been obsessed with it since I found it a couple years ago.
this was my intro to PMJ and Haley and then Morgan and the rabbit holes that lead me to more and more great music. And I loved that ja taught me about "shadow vowels"... and "zat bass" is such a smooth translation... love it. watching and listening to artists explore others work is so awesome... why we keep coming back here. danke again, again....
Ariana Savalas - Kojak's daughter - Who loves ya Baby?
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you peel the layers back on this! Gooder stuff!
Haley and Morgan singing "Dear Prudence" together with a guitarist, all sitting together on a couch...sublime!
"a guitarist" is actually Morgan's husband Doug Wamble. Great musician! Love his style and arrangements of the covers they do.
You alwayshave the best reactions . Correct, to the point, analysing, explaining and most of all really enjoying, and most of the times having fun.
But how couldn’t you with artists like these.
I would love to see your take on PMJ's rendition of Gnarles Barkley's Crazy! It's one if my favorites and consistently gives me chills.
You have a lovely smile, I enjoy your reactions a lot.
Morgan James graduated with a degree in Music where she also studied opera. What a talent.
Interesting. She definitely has the power of an opera singer.
I've been waiting for this and was not disappointed! Thank you!
When it comes to use the right woice at the right time, and shearing an instrument, the way to go is Walk off the Earth covering Somebody That I Used to Know by Goyterigth
My first exposure to PMJ was Kate Davis' cover of All About That Base, followed up by Casey Abrahms' cover of Stacey's Mom..... Words aren'tworking right now... Kate was brilliant, and Casey was fun. Both are worth a listen.
This is one of my favorite PMJ videos. The other one is Wayne Brady's Thriller. It's hilarious and he does such a good job at the song, should totally check it out!
Hey Elizabeth, I have been waiting so long for you to review this video, your reviews are amazing
PMJ, Scott Bradlee, Casey, Morgan, Heley and the gang are my favourite videos to watch to relax, along with Puddles and....The Tambourine Guy
I am glad you have reviewed these videos
Looking forward to watching more, keep them coming
I love Haley's version of creep, but I think you may have covered that one already. anything Morgan does is just fantastic.
Watching you enjoy the music is a lot of fun. You're smile is infectious.
Casey Abrams is brilliant in the PMJ remake of Africa by Toto, would love to see a reaction and Analysis!
+1
And it's the funniest video they ever made. In Umbrella (Rihanna cover) he is also pretty cool with the Sole Sisters.
@@dr.s. It is very close with Journeys "Don't stop believin'"
Haven't listened to PMJ in a few month and decided to listen to this YESTERDAY! At first I thought I was going crazy but this just popped today! Love you Liz!
I love your excitement when the strings do interesting things! Bass here, the cello in Dream On, etc
Haley Reinhart is really good, but the power in Morgan James voice just blows everyone else away. Morgan is just an incredible singer.
If you like power.
I prefer smokey voice, growls, flips, slides, yodels.
Personal taste.
I've seen this video tons of times because I love it but it was really fun watching how surprised and delighted
you are at different points here. They always crack me up how they seem like they're in a garage just winging it.
Spoiler alert. They knock it out of the park. I really hope you end up doing meatloaf Paradise by the Dashboard Lights live version. I think you would be shocked and amazed. It's like a theatrical experience
Great suggestion...must be the live version
What a treat!! My favorite vocal coach/music reviewer commenting on one of my all-time favorite covers, band and female jazz vocalists. Twenty minutes went by too fast!
I know you already have a ton of Morgan James + PMJ reactions, but I think you definitely should react to Barbie Girl by them. Prime content material, trust me!
Morgan acting as a Barbie doll is already great but the choir of Kens and tambourine guy... Oh if you know what's good for you, you react!
Ironic in her singing "I won't be no stick figure Barbie doll" yet singing "Barbie" in another video.
@@rickhicks6820 Yeah, but if you look at the video, it is quite ironic in mood. As a commenter wrote: everybody onstage looks a different kind of broken.
This was the first performance of post modern jukebox I ever heard and which made me a fan!!
PMJ version of Spicegirls ‘wannabe’ ala Andrew’s Sisters is fantastic.
That would be a completely different vibe than the version the Engel (Angel) did on the German version of the masked singer. My experience with Elizabeth's reactions tells me that she would like both.
