Jared would have never guessed he needed to be in Detroit, and Lions fans didn't know we needed JG. Sometimes the second marriage is blessing for everyone involved. Happy to have JG leading the Lions now and into the future. Such a cool Dude.

I laughed at Will's comment, in which he said, "There is no one in LA that's a Detroit fan." I'm a 24-year-old Detroit Lions fan from Los Angeles, born and raised. I have been rooting for this team since I was 10 when Suh, Stafford, and Megatron played for the team. I always get asked how I became a fan and if I have family in the Midwest. My response is "no," I'm a Hispanic male with no ties to the Mid-West, and my family and I are Detroit Lions fans. Starting with my dad rooting for them during the infamous 0-16 season, to the Schartz, Caldwell, the terrible Quinn-Tricia era, to seeing them play at Sofi this past season, the successful playoff run, and from being 30 minutes away from reaching their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. It's been one rollercoaster ride with this team, but I wouldn't want to root for any other team. Go Lions! #onepride
I hav e to ask how did you become a fan? Of all the teams how did you grow to like the Lions being born and raised all the way out in LA? I’m a Lions fan but born and raised in Michigan so had no choice haha
@@Loganbub Growing up in Los Angeles, the Rams and the Chargers were still located in St. Louis and San Diego, respectively. I couldn't get into the Raiders, 9ers, or Cowboys fanbase because I do not live in the bay, and I wouldn't say I liked the Cowboys uniforms or colors (neither the fanbase for all three of these teams). When I started to watch football at the age of 7, I would follow the Chargers because they were a "So-Cal" team, but I was never really a die-hard fan and would casually follow them. I began to follow the Lions after my dad became one after the 0-16 season (that's another story to tell). I wanted to know more about the Lions, and like any person, I began to read into the team's history. After seeing them play with guys like Stafford, Megatron, and Suh, I fell in love with the team. I had people constantly asking me that exact same question and if I choose to follow this team because I lost a bet or something, but the reality is that I love this team with all my heart, I wouldn't want to trade them for any other team, and I'm glad to see them heading in the right direction.

Im so happy for Jared! As a 45 year plus Lions fan Jared is Awesome. I bought season tickets to Ford field for the first time after Brad, Dan and Jared were hired. I was there when we won against the Vikings in 21. I was there when we kept the packers in Lambeu out of the playoffs in 22 season. I was the in KC for the first game of 23 season… I’m going into 2024 season excited as a season ticket holder. GO LIONS!!!!

Loved this interview! I’m 61 and a lifelong Lions fan and I have never been so excited about this team. Jared Goff is a terrific QB and the Lions are lucky to have him - let’s go Lions!
Wish I could like this video multiple times lol I’m a diehard Lions fan, my entire life is decked out in Lions shit.. Stafford was my favorite NFL player, and I was not happy when I heard about the news.. but Jared Goff has completely won me over, and he is now my favorite player in the league. Not simply because he’s OUR QUARTERBACK 👊🏽, but because he’s such an awesome guy that endured a lot and he really cares/wants to bring a championship to the city of Detroit. Him talking about that 1st W after the Oxford incident was so sick, and then seeing this last year’s success.. As a 31 year old Michigander, Jared is 100% correct about the negativity of Detroit media around the Lions. Even when the Lions actually have success sporadically over the years they harp on the negatives
I agree with JG 100%, the sports media in Detroit sucks and all they know how to do is be negative no matter what our team's are doing. I know that Josh Reynolds left the Lions because of the appalling way the media and fans treated him for having a bad game during the NFC Championship. I only hope that this doesn't affect Jerods decision to stay here in Detroit and sign a new contract. The fans Real fans love our team and protect our players. P.S. His dog is a ham! And we all love Goff here and have adopted him as a Detroiter and the leader of our beloved Lions. #OnePride
I agree the renalds slander pissed me off! Thay win as a team and lose as a team! The second half was a total team and coaching collapse. Thay know it we know it! Wile it was hard to take amd hurt. It doesn't take away what a great team we have in Detroit and the future looks brighter and the hunger is for success is even greater. I believe there are something special in the future for this organization. And it's players. The core is very strong so we have a lot to look forward too!

Found this interview after DET media is focusing on the 1 min of Goff talking about negative media. Excellent interview with great discussions that I've now watched twice, so of course media is proving JG's point by focusing on that topic.🙄🤦🤷
Yesterday when I was 1st tipped off to this interview, Channel had about 100 subscribers and the 2 Day Old video was @ 578 views. Now a 3 Day Old video with over 8,000 views and over 200 subscribers. Thanks for proving JG's point, Detroit media, and helping this excellent interview get out to Lions fans (even though ya'll only want to talk about a 1 min clip🙄🤦).
I'm a lifelong Lions fan, even when the Lions had winning seasons in the past it always felt like we barely got it done. Needing crazy plays never having sustainable drives. After that 8-2 push to end the 2022 season I said this team is different. You guys were so much fun to watch and it felt like for the first time we had created something sustainable and something of our own. Not trying to rip off another teams way of doing things. I decided for the first time to buy a season ticket. I went to every home game by myself and flew to Tampa to see the regular season away game with my Dad for his birthday. I also went to both home playoff games. I'm 38 and Thanks in big part to JG I had by far not even close the best season ever as a Lions fan. I renewed my ticket and will again be attending every home game solo this season. Not going to lie it's almost been therapeutic. So many emotions it's hard to put into words but I just wanted to say thank you and I can't wait for the coming season. Good Luck Go Lions!!!

I just love the way that he has shut the naysayers up… Never have I had any problem with him being traded here, and I’m glad that we have him. Poise, humility and leadership for starters. Also other intangibles. But my number one thing is that he’s a Libra like me. In fact, his birthday is the day before mine although I’m 22 years his senior. Also I have two boy’s and my youngest son’s name is, Quincy…. And I found out his dogs name in his Ford commercial.😂 As a diehard Lions fan, I’m so proud of the ownership, front office, coaching staff and our players. But more than anything #16, our leader on the field…. And Jared(I know you won’t) don’t let these SOL fans get to you, because some of our local media and fans are just that…

When you think about an awesome franchise, with players, coaches and front office personnel, who are as cool as they are talented, the Lions seem to be doing everything right. Dan Campbell and AG and Ben Johnson, on the coaching side. Jared, Amon-Ra, Penei, Hutch and so many others on the player side. Holmes, Speilman and Shelia in the front office and ownership. I've followed Detroit sports all my life, and I don't remember loving and believing in a sports franchise like this.
We’ve truly got to witness this guy grow as a man and become an example of triumph over life’s obstacles. Idk that my on field opinion will ever change much, but I respect the hell out of Jared Goff the man.

One thing about pro sports in Detroit is that the arenas/stadiums are within walking distance from each other. You can see a day game at Comerica, then walk over to see the Red Wings or Pistons, or a concert.
Gotta get a JG hug in one day.
Went to my first Lions game in a decade 21 when we were 0-6…next one we were 0-8.
Half season 22 after 3-13-1, but went to every game, full STM going on year 2.
It’s May & still think about Ford Field for those 2 playoff games, hugging my mom n balling. So beautiful.
Moral of the story, I fkn love Jared Goff, The King of Detroit.

I may be the minority here but I’d actually rather have a rookie JG than Stafford if it were possible. I just feel he’s the smarter QB. Stafford may have the stronger arm but the plays JG has to manage has impressed me to the point I wouldn’t want any other QB. Go Lions!

The media negativity is just because that's how we've coped with heartbreak after heartbreak in Detroit. I love that you're calling it out - you are one of the primary reasons we can actually start looking forward to our team every Sunday. And like you said, Detroit represents ALL of Michigan - it's an amazing city yet is always overlooked and shamed from others around the country. When Detroit hurts, Michigan hurts. When Detroit is succeeding, Michigan is succeeding.
We always assumed in the past that the worst possible outcome will happen as it so often has for us. It was how we coped. It hurts to have hope only to see it crushed repeatedly, every single time, over and over and over. So you lessen the impact by never getting your hopes up in the first place. You find a way to love your team despite their shortcomings, so you accept that failure is what will happen and move on to other things to love about the team. It was all we could do to stay in love with our local team.
So when you and the rest of our talented team beat the Rams 24-23, that was like the biggest weight lifted off our shoulders. Like... wait, it doesn't have to end in heartbreak??? This is a possible outcome????? It was genuinely surreal. But it's not just the on-field success. It's how proud we all are of how the organization carries itself, how much respect is given to the players who are the blood and soul of the team, how much the community matters to every member of the Lions. We've never been so proud to be Lions fans.
You're the best and I hope like all hell you're a Lion for the rest of your career. I don't care what anybody else around the League says about you. You're good enough for Detroit, Jared Goff.

His interviews with 97.1 have always been with Doug Karsch and Scott Anderson. They don't do negative. So that can't be the case. I think he is talking about someone more like Carlos Monarrez who is actually always being a negative Nancy.

Life long Detroit Lions fan. Loved this podcast. Loved hearing everything Jared said and how unguarded he was. Especially loved what he said about MCDC, the end of the Rams game, and even arm soreness. Agree with you about being fired up for next season!
I’m a Niners fan. But Jared Goff is always gonna be one of my favorite QBs. All my other niner fan friends hated the rams but I couldn’t do it cause I loved watching jared play. I’m glad we beat Detroit in the chip but if it wasn’t us, I wish it coulda been them

Goff was sent here to Detroit to die and his career was on a downhill spiral but he proved people wrong that he can still be a starter in this league and really revitalized his career.

He could have thrown the biggest tempertantrum after he got sent to the lions...and as a life long lions fan...we all knew what that was. It was a death sentence for his career. Insted he put his head down and helped build our franchise into something we have never experienced (at least in modern football). I'm proud to call him my quarterback. And I hope he finishes his career here.

Holy shit, this is quite the titillating tell-all.
A VERY important thing Goff brings up is independance. People put all the woes of the rams on his shoulders but McVay had a iron grip on a rookie qb and didnt give him any free reign to manage the offence. You can even find clips of stafford listening to the offence call outs on palys that are like listening to nuclear engineering equations and he goes "na na na well just do this". Stafford was a vet and not worries about calling his own play but Goff never had the opportunity to do that. Im not saying its on McVay but its pretty clear that he was in a win now my way phase and thats not good to develope rookie QBs
