Laporta is a Daaaawg!!…And he is in the PERFECT situation…his position coach is a former TE …his OC is a former TE coach…his Head Coach is a former TE coach and former TE.😲👊🏾 #GoLions
Sam you need to get on the Jersey makers! I've been scouring the internet for a blue XL 87 Laporta jersey and I cant find any for the life of me. Cant wait to see you all play next week at Sofi. Lions fans are going to take over Sofi!!!!!!!!!
Regarding fantasy, I always have struggled at the TE spot, but I got Sam in every single league and he’s money every week. Dude will be a top 2 TE by the end of next season mark my words
Aside from their talent, another thing I’ve noticed with Brad Holmes picks; they all also seem to be generally good people. Team first guys. As far as my 5 Lions, that’s tough. I think I’d go with Herman, Luther (Porcher would also work), Hanson, Stafford…and maybe Cory Schlesinger. Him and David Sloan both had nice careers, without much fanfare.
Chris Spielman Matt Stafford Bennie Blades Herman Moore Golden Tate. Thank you Chris for this great interview. I’ve always been a fan of you as a man you make your parents proud.
I knew Laporta would be good because when Michigan played them, he was the only guy Iowa had on the field it seemed like lol he was basically doing it alone with a trash qb. I was pumped when we got him and knew he’d be good because he’d get a lot of opportunities
I remember TE Davis Sloan took a pass to the house. He went up a seam through the middle and went untouched like 60 yards. Waiting to see the right call that can spring Laporta like that.
5 Lions players I’d want to watch the playoffs with: • Golden Tate lll - he’s gotta be up there with Megatron for my favorite Lion of all time, an absolutely electric playmaker • Matt Stafford - after all the years he spent here fighting with everything he had, I’d definitely want #9 in there to see the playoff magic in Ford Field for the first time in over 2 decades • Reggie Bush - he was here later in his career but he definitely gave us some great moments in his time with the Lions • DeAndre Levy - absolute beast on our defense back in his time • Marvin Jones Jr. - his first run with the team was iconic, he became one of the top receivers in the league for a couple seasons and he should get to see this team perform in the playoffs 💪🏼
Chris Spielman, Robert Porcher, Lomas Brown, Kevin Glover, aaaand… let’s go Luther Ellis, just because he was my dad’s guy. I’ll bet you can tell I was born in 81! Honorable mention, I’m gonna go with Big Play Willie Clay. Or Johnnie Morton. Oh wait, no - Cory Schlesinger. Damn this is tough!
Okay so, my favorite player of all time is a Raider, Lyle Alzado, I just loved him as a kid. I also liked Jack Lambert a lot too! For the Lions, my favorite Lion of all time is becoming Dan Campbell, even though Barry is probably the greatest Lion ever, he is pretty quiet and is not one of my choices. So here are my five: 1) Chris Spielman 2) Calvin Johnson 3) Robert Porcher 4) Corey Schlesinger 5) Dick LeBeau. I know those are weird choices. I almost put Dan Orlovski in there. My favorite Lions are actually on the current team, I already mentioned Dan Campbell, but my favorite players are a lot of the guys we have now, and I cannot pick just one. St. Brown, Hutch, Goff, Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch, Jack Campbell, Anzalone, Jerry Jacobs,. Monty, Reynolds, Raymond, it just keeps going. But my favorite current Lion is Taylor Decker hands down. Love that guy, he is a lot like me personality wise, so I just feel like I could connect with him on a spiritual level and I live my football life through him vicariously (I played LT, NT, DE in high school). I also feel like Taylor is one of the most underrated left tackles in the game. Dude is solid year in and year out, he goes against the best and holds his own every time. Maybe he is not a top 3 guy, but he sure as heck is not far off that. Chris I was also a big fan of your dad on those Raider teams too and I always rooted for you too! Tell your dad that Mark Davis needs to do what Sheila Hamp did and talk to the Raider alumni that know ball on what the team should do going forward, it worked wonders for the Lions!
I am inviting Chris Speilman and Dan Campbell to come over and visit before the game as they were Lions players too. After that, in the box, I would send tickets to Jason Hanson, Billy Sims, Herman Moore, Golden Tate, and Mel Gray. Yes... two special teamers.
My five guys Matthew Stafford - Dude just seems like a chill guy to hangout with. I became a fan when Stafford came into the league. Ziggy Ansah - Another guy that I enjoyed to see when I first started watching. Loved seeing him run down the field to catchup to players. Golden Tate - Just a stand out guy. Would be a great guy to just enjoy the game with. Chris Spielman - Heavily involved with the Lions to this day. One of the guys that represents this team. Herman Moore - The guy is still involved heavily with the Lions. It'd be awesome to hear the stories from him
5: Barry Night Train Spielman Sims Raiola/Schlesinger(Too close to call) Edit: And now I feel like a dick for not saying how great this interview was and how grateful I was to see Sams first big interview on this show. Good one.
Got an autograph from Dick ' Night Train' Lane as a member of the Detroit Lions Junior fan Club , after practice , he accidentally stood on my foot with his cleats , but I didn't say a thing . Was just in awe !
Mind you I’ve only been a lions fan for the past 10 years cause I’m 17 but I love them through and through. My top five would have to be #1 Darius slay there was that energy and excitement he brang I remember as a kid just watching and loving to see our defense because there was a chance I’d see that finger swag. #2 would have to be Matthew Stafford he was my first ever qb I’ve watched and he had so much emotion and passion when he played he played everything out on the field for us. #3 golden Tate he had that almost backyard style do whatever it took like flipping over people to get touchdowns. I got a very small glance of when the lions had megatron and Tate it was incredible. #4 Kenny golliday he didn’t end up being much after he left but man Matthew Stafford made that man a special receiver. #5 Aidan Hutchinson this kid just has so much personality what isn’t there to love about him
Who is your favorite Detroit Lion of all time?
It’s a chalky answer but it’s hard to not say Megatron. Currently Frank Ragnow. Dudes a beast
Chris Spielman
Herman Moore. Always been a WR guy. 😂

Its Barry. No question. And considering my favorite Lions list is 64 players long, thats saying something.

• Reggie Bush - he was here later in his career but he definitely gave us some great moments in his time with the Lions
• DeAndre Levy - absolute beast on our defense back in his time
• Marvin Jones Jr. - his first run with the team was iconic, he became one of the top receivers in the league for a couple seasons and he should get to see this team perform in the playoffs 💪🏼
Tate is still one of my favorite lions ever. Dude was so quick stopping and starting again.
Having a head coach that played your position is very cool.
5 Lions with me in suite:
Herman Moore, Chris Spielman, Lomas Brown, Mel Gray, Dominic Raola! Let's go! 😅
Love Sam ! He is his own Rookie Coach, give him a C on his Jersey for Coach, lol 😂
Chris Spielman, Deandre Levy, Robert Porcher, Corey Schlesinger, Bennie Blades
Slay, stafford, Prater, suh, and maybe Joey Harrington because he was qb1 when I picked a nfl team as a little kid living in Canada
My 5: Chris Spielman, Lomas Brown, Robert Porcher, Jason Hanson, & Don Mulbach.
My five guys
Matthew Stafford - Dude just seems like a chill guy to hangout with.

Raiola/Schlesinger(Too close to call)
Edit: And now I feel like a dick for not saying how great this interview was and how grateful I was to see Sams first big interview on this show.

My top five would have to be
#1 Darius slay there was that energy and excitement he brang I remember as a kid just watching and loving to see our defense because there was a chance I’d see that finger swag.
#5 Aidan Hutchinson this kid just has so much personality what isn’t there to love about him
Billy Sims, Chris Spielman, Herman Moore, Lomas Brown and Eric Kramer
2:03 Chris Spelman, Herman Moore, Robert Porcher, Lomas Brown and Nate Burleson
Herman Moore, Javier Best, Kevin Jones, Lomas Brown, and Andre Ware
5.) Glover Quin. 4.) Chris Spielman 3.) Deandre Levy 2.) Matthew Stafford 1.) Herman Moore
i traded derek henry for laporta straight up in my 8 man ff league. I was stacked in RBs and needed a reliable TE. best decision ever.
Chris Spielman, Robert Porsche, Billy Sims, Bennie Blades, Lomas Brown
