Diablo always ran at that speed for PS1. I used to own it on both PC and PlayStation - PlayStation had that slowdown even on native hardware. It's running just as it should. Just thought I'd let you know.
FFVII and VIII also run at those speeds. Different modes run at different frame rates, and battles run at 15 goddamn fps. Menus are 60 and running around the overworld is 30.
I have to agree, most the games that seem to run anything other than "great" ran very similar on origional equipment. I blame the games, not the Miyoo Mini. I have one myself and PS1 games run very close to origional. It's an amazing little handheld that is great for a slip in your pocket size device.
Did you ever get your hands on a real psx? Most of the "slowdowns" were also on the original hardware. I've been playing Final Fantasy 7 on the miyoo and it's at the correct speed, even the slow downs are accurate. If it was a "real" slow down, you'd hear the sound crack. It’s fine for me, at first it was way too small, but I got used to it. I’ve spend at least 50hrs on it already. Big hands is going to be uncomfortable, unless you play slow paced games.
I have medium hands (large nitrile gloves). I switch between two positions where my fingers bend more or less depending on how much precision I need from the d-pad. Casual platformers, rpgs, more relaxed games I could play for hours. Fighting games I have to flex my hands after every match or two. I think overall it's better than you would think, but not super comfortable.
That was my thought. They looked like garbage on real systems. I think Need for Speed III is running at it's normal frame rate too as it had dips as well on real machines. So I don't think anything being shown is actually not running at full speed, it's all running as fast as a PS1 would run.

Hey Jim, I'm enjoying these Miyoo Mini vids. Thank you for making them. It would be a great to see a comparison between the Miyoo Mini, the V90, and Anbernic systems. Do you think it's worth getting a Miyoo Mini for someone who already has a V90? Why or why not? Are you afraid that the screen on the Miyoo Mini may get scratched? Do you know of any screen protectors for the device? Cheers!
