The history lessons are really just meant for the audience even though they're directed at the seller. Albeit I can't help but get irritated by it as well, seems a little rude in my opinion.
Age has nothing to do with education or wisdom. I'm in my late 40s but didn't study history in college, I studied music - so Rick could teach me about history and I teach him about music - it all comes down to what you're educated in, NOT your age.
@@ross-carlson oh I totally agree with you. I'm 30 and I know more about earlier eras then most of the people my age. My first comment was more of a joke than anything. The guy bringing in the tape looks like he is not a stranger to the history surrounding his certain item. I just found it kind of funny was all. It's like breaking down how a combustion engine works to a mechanic, I'm pretty sure he has got a good idea on what's going on.

I worked at the Pentagon, Jfk yelled at me. And I have it on tape.
When the recording started… I was like no way this is jfk. And then I heard him say “theyuh” and I was like yep that’s him😂
Yes! Same here, that “hello” didn’t sound like him at all but that “theyah” is SO ICONIC haha
In the end I think it’s good that he didn’t sell it because that is HUGE piece of history in that family and it would be worth more to grandkids than if it was sold at a pawnshop

This guy, or one of his relatives or friends, needs to do some research and digging to find out if the tape exists somewhere else. If not, the Kennedy Library would probably want it and he could get some cash for it that way.

He didn't really assert himself to jfk. He was just telling him the truth of what happened. And jfk was pretty accepting of it, and you can see being the leader he was. He immediately starting giving direction on how to avoid the problem in the future. Even if it cost 7 minutes. He knows that 7 minutes might make a world of difference.

I don’t comment to this channel often but I think that I had to on this one.
One of the main ways for this man to find out if he did indeed have a unique copy of his conversation with the president is to go to the National Archives and do a little research to find out if a copy of this conversation exists and then determine if it is a copy or an original.
So he may in fact have an original tape of this conversation and thus boosting its value to his asking price.
