    Pedal commander's are great, the easiest way to explain them performance wise I'd say I'd doesn't add hp rather it unlocks hp you wouldn't be able to use normally.

    I use the pedal commander on my car.
    Just finished my first drag meet with it on my challenger rt.
    Biggest issue I had was loss of traction even with s prepped track.
    I reduced the setting, lowered Tyre pressure (street tyres) to 25psi, dropped the pc setting three settings so just street and feathered it off the line. I have beaten my previous times by .01 of a second. I’m the past I was running 13.2 constantly, by doing what I did I ran 3 13.1 runs. So if I can get traction I am confident I will be in the high 12s. It definitely made a difference 😊

      Nice! Glad it has helped you as well. if you can get traction, it should help. Make sense for it to improve a cars 60 foot

      R/T Life absolutely. I definitely rate this product and would recommend it to anyone. I also use the tranzformer shift reprogram unit. These two have been the best value for money in performance feel I’ve made.i would recommend professionally install the tranzformer as the clips they supply work loose with time and will cause all sorts of errors and problems with the car (I found this out the hard way). But since hard wired it works perfectly.
      The tranzformer gives me shift points and firmness I enjoy, the pedal commander gives me throttle response I love. I also love the fact it has eliminated the lag you get when accelerating and it moves from mds to normal mode. It now drives as it should.
      I enjoy your posts. Keep them coming 😊

      What is your 0-60 I am going to get a pedal commander in my 2013 challenger rt all I have is k&n drop in filter ,cat back exhaust and race tires 275 on the rear and 255 in the front My best time was 0-60 in 4.6 sec with new nitto tires on at least without a pedal commander

    Got this mod on for a week now after seeing your review of it. I’m in a V6 but omg whether or not you believe it helps, it DEF makes the car more driveable! Sport + on 4th setting with traction control on , with 275s , loses grip! I like to ride around on just Sport to the 2nd setting- makes it fun enough to drive around without butchering my gas tank or tires haha. Here lately Ive been a fan of Eco to the 4th around town and on the highway, its a more comfy ride bc your can use the pedal as a foot rest since its not sensitive- you can just sit back and relax on it and save a few mpgs, but man oh man throwing it on sport mode or sport plus ALWAYS brings a smile to my face- it really throws you back even in a V6 and it sounds great! You can hear it in the engine when youre in sport + to the 4th , the freaking engine itself sounds like a friggen monster!

    The pedal commander makes the V6 in the Mopar a beast in my 300 with a 3.6 V6 5-speed the thing is quick very quick it wakes it up keeps it up in the higher RPM range where the horsepower is on the V6. 😀

      yah it really makes the car snappy as hell! Def glad you're enjoying it

  • @MeanBee392
    @MeanBee392 6 лет назад +3

    It makes total sense to me just because of how snappy it makes it off the line. But like you said on the street with regular tires the biggest problem is hooking up! Work or not the fun factor is totally worth it! But.... as we saw it looks like it's working!

    • @RTLife

      yup! Give it some traction & it will likely shave some time off - nothing crazy but it will help reaction time & possibly 60 foot

      @steve what is your opinion now after having it for almost a year? I am probably getting one for my 2019 ram, the delay in throttle response is pretty severe, and for a vehicle not tuned for performance like these cars in the video I feel like the affects on the acceleration and 0-60 times would be much more noticeable.

  • @thelilbrother

    This definitely makes a difference in my 2016 Challenger SXT when I’m cruising down the freeway going 60mph then I stomp on the pedal. It really gets up and goes.
    I have mine set at Max=Sport+ (+2)
    Just try this with the pedal commander OFF then try it with it ON @ Sport+ (+2)
    Going 60pmh or so then stomping on the pedal.
    Lemme know if you try this bro, and see what you think. You can make a video if you like doing this test run.

    After watching your video. I ordered one for my 2018 Chrysler 300C Hemi. I run my 300C in pure stock (Bracket racing) with reduced air pressure in my rear 20" performance street tires. I have a hard time launching, so I run for the first time this year Saturday and will be using the petal commander. It will interesting seeing if I can get my car off the line using the max setting. By the way. I'm one of those guys who doesn't want to lose my factory warranty. My only mods have been adding an SRT rear wing and a cold air. I've had no drive line issues but had my entire uconnect infotainment system replaced under warranty which due to covid delayed my parts. My car set for 30 days at the dealership while I used a loaner. Seeing the repair charges. My warranty saved me $1800.00. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to future videos.

    Growl still needs more traction. There is time left on the table.
    Still on the fence about it though. I need to experience it before I could make a decision, but the price point is a bit high for something I would likely only use to produce clouds of smoke... Which I like to do.

      Yah the pedal commander is going to have a lot of settings for you to choose from. On the street it's going to be impossible to grab traction. I like the fact that you are one of the regular guys. I trust and value your opinion. I have the Challenger T/A 392 and considering the pedal commander for better performance at the track. Running Nitto 555's - traction issues now, and most likely traction issues after the pedal commander. But I'm still going to get it and just work on my launch. Thanks for your vid.

    • @RTLife
      @RTLife  5 лет назад +1

      No don't buy it for better performance - I think this was a fluke. The pedal commander is a lot of fun but I don't think it will result in better times. I really enjoy mine but it's more so to goof around & have fun

  • @robertsnyder4963
    @robertsnyder4963 6 лет назад +4

    I really like your take on the Pedal Commander. It doesn't add a single horsepower, but can (greatly?) improve the "fun to drive factor" and fool the ol' butt dyno lol. Yeah, it's probably overpriced for what it is but your paying for the plug-n-play connectors and the adjustability with the different settings. Still on the fence about it for my SRT8 Charger, seeing as I have a hard time finding traction as is even with 275s all around. However, I am considering it for my wife's car ('12 Maxima) since she's not really into modding it but likes to drive it like it's a Mustang GT (her dream car). I know she'd appreciate the snappy throttle response and sportier feel, even if it doesn't make even an ounce more power. The $300ish price tag would be the hard selling point for her tho...

    • @RTLife
      @RTLife  6 лет назад

      Yah that price tag sucks - it should be around $100-$150. But yah it really does trick the butt dyno big time. Feels like someone dropped an extra 50+ HP under the hood. That SRT would be torching those 275's!

    Meh, still skeptical on this gadget. I think he was just getting better on subsequent runs, which is pretty common at the track. Next time he should reverse it. Start on the highest setting and then back it down. If the theory holds true, his times should get worse on subsequent runs.

      CTCharger I would have to agree with you. In my experience the more runs down the track people make equals more rubber and heat being laid down resulting in better traction and times. Not to mention usually your first run or two is just getting jitters out and warming up... but yeah if it holds true with that theory reversed then I’d thumbs up to that little device.

    so let me preface this by saying I really enjoyed the performance of the PC it definitely makes a HUGE difference!! It has numerous setting's most of which I tried but wouldn't use just WAY to responsive and uncomfortable to control! NOW after 2 years of owning this PC in the last 2 weeks the transmission began to get stuck in 4th gear and I couldn't accelerate past 37 MPH and the check engine light came on!! I took it to the local dealer he ran the codes and started chuckling!? He had a PC on his mopar and had just recently had a similar problem and SAME CODES after a little more than 2 years of owning his PC, needless to say I removed the pedal commander the check engine light disappeared my shifting and acceleration problems went back to stock mode and now I miss my PC but at over $300 a pop I guess I'll just have get used to stock!!

      Hoping to get it more when I go to the strip. It really doesn't matter though - the people that don't like it will always come up with an argument as to why it's a gimmick. I'm struggling with peoples skepticism here. In sport+ mode you touch the throttle and she GOES. My Daytona feels pretty dead and underwhelming with it disabled now. I'm running a diablo tune and CAI with suitcase delete (5.7) daily driving can be snappy in sport+ so I run it in sport setting 4. Sport+ breaks away quick and can be too much at junctions and U turns unless you are playing and wanting it to step. I'm not at all surprised by your man's results on the strip

    Just got a 2018 Challenger R/T last week with the A8 transmission. So far it has been a blast. Looking into mods and your youtube page is awesome! I've got a few things in mind for some extra power but want to start with basics (for now). Luckily it already has active exhaust so nothing needed there.
    1. Cold Air (or SRT392) intake with Hellcat filter.
    2A. Some type of tuner. I'll search through your videos to see what you have to say about them. From what I'm seeing online it looks like HKS or Diablo is the way to go. Does Mopar offer a warranty compatible tuner?
    2b. Pedal Commander. Does this make Sport Mode irrelevant? Say you have the Pedal Commander on Sport + 4 and you're driving along having a blast with the vehicles Sport Mode off. If you push the Sport Mode button does it make the pedal commander even that much better? Hopefully that makes sense, not sure how to phrase it properly.
    I say 2A & 2B because it's not clear if having both is redunant. Logically it seems like having both would be best of both worlds since a tuner actually gives real HP gains (20-30 HP) and the PC basically making you FEEL like you've added power.
    4. Stage 1 PCM but I haven't seen any available for 18's. With the 17+ having factory Active Exhaust from the factory, would adding the PCM technically qualify for the Stage 1 badges?
    Sorry for the massive question list. I'm new to Mopar and came over from Chevy. Still have a 73' Nova parked outside but I likely won't be driving it anymore since the Challenger is much more fun haha.

    Ok so read this.. his runs got faster
    BUT his reaction time got better each run
    So if you mathematically even out the reaction times, the 1/4 runs are much closer, within .1 of a sec
    The thing that is confusing the heck out of me is that his 0-60 times were cut drastically but his 1/4 times were all within .1 of a second after being mathematically corrected to match the first runs reaction time.
    Basically this does work, makes it about .1 of a second faster in the 1/4 but can take .5 of a second off your 0-60 time.
    See my confusion?? The math to me is not adding up... any math or track gurus here to help lol?!

    • @hastyhemi8737

      A Multi-Millionaire The reaction time has no effect what so ever on the 1/4 mile times. You can literally sit there for 1 min after the light turns green and your time wouldn’t start till you leave the line. So really the only thing the pedal commander will benefit you with at the track is your reaction time off the tree which doesn’t do anything for your actual 1/4 mile time. Hope this helps

      @hastyhemi8737 6 лет назад +1

      A Multi-Millionaire from my experience, my times get better throughout the night because the more runs people make down the track the more rubber and heat is being put down equaling better traction... and for me the first run or two is just getting the jitters out then it’s in the zone!
