    This thing only adjusts pedal linearity. This is something that's often adjustable in sim racing, with pedals. Players will do things like, set the brake curve so that it's limited to 80% so they can just push the brake all the way and never lock up, or they will set the throttle curve so that most of the pedal travel isn't enough to spin the wheels so they don't need to be as precise when driving high horsepower cars.
    This pedal commander thing is doing the same thing. Being able to finely adjust throttle linearity for certain racing related scenarios would be useful. But for road use don't bother. Any effect you think it's having is purely psychological because your pedal's linearity curve is mapped differently than what you have grown accustomed to.

    • @PURENT
      @PURENT 5 месяцев назад

      @shaggywagshaggywag I'm saying this is the type of thing you buy when you've already got a tuned car and need the extra adjustment for control during racing. Being able to set your throttle curve especially in something like a drag racing launch, can make it hell of a lot easier to launch the car without excessive wheelspin. Or maybe if you do offroading, you want an even less sensitive pedal so you can avoid digging yourself into a hole.
      The only "delay" that exists is your foot pushing the pedal to the floor. But most people are just going to buy this thing and make 1 inch of pedal movement map to 100% open throttle valve, making 90% of their pedal useless. And then they'll pretend they made a big improvement in "power" because now their car goes full throttle at the slightest tap
      Basically, this mod is like a big brake kit. People buy it for the wrong reasons and then end up being no better than stock.

    I'm highly skeptical this changes the actual throttle response and simply just masks it. I feel like it more or less changes pedal sensitivity by over or under shooting what pedal input you are doing for a breif moment. If it really did change the throttle response there should be a difference between the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times when immediately mashing the gas to the floor and not lifting. One thing I would love to see is an overlaid graph of the difference in throttle pedal input and throttle body output during stock operation and while using this product. I'm sure you could probably simulate what the pedal commander does but it would be a very unatural driving experience trying to mash the gas to the floor then instantly pulling it back to 25%

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Год назад

      There won’t be a significant difference in 0-60 times because it doesn’t add power. The car will still have the same power, but the quicker response is definitely significant. We have found it helpful in multiple vehicles. The “dead space” in every car pedal is what it helps eliminate.

    Hi, was wondering if you could help me understand something about these throttle controllers? I know many people want these for improved response and for their car to feel quicker, but I drive a manual car with a gas pedal that's way too sensitive and was wondering if this would be useful for the opposite effect.
    Basically, I add a bit of gas to move off and there is a significant delay before it responds, and then it revs too high (above 2000rpm). I feel like I have to press the gas pedal a very very small amount, and was curious whether a simple throttle controller might offer a more linear response that would be easier to control. Perhaps this is what the "eco" mode would do? I just don't want to have to put so much effort in to be smooth and avoid stalling my weak car. Other manual transmission cars I've driven have been so much less sensitive than my own.
    I should also add that I would prefer the car didn't have such a delay before responding to throttle input, but the thing I'm most curious about is making the throttle mapping more linear/less 'touchy.' Am I way off here or is a product like this something that might help?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed

      This eliminates the lag from when you first hit the gas pedal to when the throttle body opens. So it makes the relation from your foot to the cars acceleration much more inner and responsive. This seems like it will help you out. Just play with the settings to dial in what works for you. I found the similar to stock setting, and then just went a few up from there to eliminate the lag.
