I did the same thing, so happy I did. I'm one year into remission and have kept a pixie hairstyle because it just feels so natural now. I'll add to the "you look beautiful" comments. Much love to you, sister ❤
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 50 years old, I took her to the oncology clinic three times a week, bald heads everywhere. I had long thick hair! I felt so uncomfortable there… I cut some hair off, and the next week, I cut more… it’s just hair! No big deal. Every time I took her there for treatment I went to my friend’s house and she would cut more off. My mother never lost her hair, it changed texture and color for sure. By the time that she died my hair was very short. She was 78 years old when she died. I’m now 72, long thick white hair. It’s just hair!
Daniela, you look great. Despite your illness, you look very healthy. I’m so glad that you appear to be keeping up your strength through your treatment. Continued prayers for you as you continue on your fight to good health. Thank you for your openness. I’m sure that it will help others who may have to confront the same health issues.
You look pretty with short hair too. 😊. People underestimate how taxing hair care is while going through treatments or when you have chronic illness. Medicines can thin or even change the hair in different ways that can cause stress. You chose to remove that potential stress. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Your positive attitude goes a very long way in your cancer journey. I referred to my cancer journey as a speed bump in my life. My hair fell out during one of my hospital stays during chemo. Exactly 10 days after I started. I had gone with a trusted friend to get a wig prior to treatments, do zi was prepared. But, I preferred the pink (favorite color) ball cap the same friend gave me. I wore the wig to church and ither functions, but mostly wore the ball cap. My hair cane back as fine curly baby hair. I was hopeful it eould renain curly or wavy since my haur had been straight all my life. But, it didn't. Darn. I didn't dwell on my cancer or center my life around it. Modt days I refused to think about it. I'm so glad I happened to find you in face book as I was scrolling around for something new to watch. I will include you in my prayers and have started following you now ❤
Hi Daniela- Prayers and gentle hugs to you on your fight. Thank you for the courage to post this for those who are going through the same. You are a spark of joy!
Thank you for that very honest video talking about one of the things you had to deal with in your cancer journey. You are a very brave and strong woman and beautiful before and after your chemotherapy. The beauty. Of your soul comes over in your videos💕
Hi Daniela: You are a remarkable woman. So many people have been inspired by your courage to fight this cancer. I love your hair short, but you can always grow it out. Whatever you decide is your choice. You’re beautiful inside and out. 💜😎🇺🇸
I am a new subby and hadn't seen any of your recent video's where you had shaved your head. God bless you. You are a beautiful woman with and without hair. Your inner beauty really shines through. Thank you for sharig your video. You are in my thoughts and prayes that the cancer goes into remission. Keep up with the postive attitutde. It really does help. Take care and am looking forward to your next video. God bless! 🙏♥
I wish I had shaved my head before chemo. I had long, mutant thick hair and when I started chemo it matted. I was very lucky my sister came immediately to shave my head. Her granddaughters were with her and they complimented me on my pretty bald head. I wore turbans and not wigs. It came in handy during that summer. It was a lot cooler. My hair did grow back different. It is now normal thick hair but still has a little curl. The reaction I had was most people were very respectful and caring. I didn’t notice anyone looking away from me. I was worried that I would scare my granddaughters. We had dinner with them they were curious and wanted to see my bald head. They also like my pretty head.
Your granddaughters and grandnieces have great taste and clearly were raised by loving, strong women. Your hair sounds beautiful - even extremely thick hair - and now, just normal thick hair. And I like your turban method! I should try that! ❤️
Sorry you are going through this. You are taking it very well. A lot of folks brush off a woman losing her hair when it comes to chemo, like it's no big deal. People see it as a vain thing, sometimes. Until a person has actually had to go through chemo, I don't think they can really understand the impact it has on a person's life. And a man shaving his head in support is a nice gesture, but it's not the same as a woman losing her hair. It doesn't even come close. Your hair looks very cute now, and I wish you all the best. Saying a prayer for you.
Thank you for your kind words and very thoughtful views. I, too, think that going through chemo is a very all consuming process. I appreciate your considerate comments. Thank you. ❤️
Daniela goosebumps of emotions and reverence for the amazing person you are. Real healing begins when we accept who we are in the way we are. . You are a true example of a warrior . Wow you are such an inspiration not only with your talents and abilities but also the strength and love for life in all the dimensions . Thank you for your trust in us in sharing your story. Personally I don't know you but I know your heart and soul. Love 💗 only love 💗 for you
Thank you for such kind words and support throughout my journey. Your comments have truly helped me express gratitude and accept what has happened. I truly appreciate that you reached out to me.❤️
Daniella, thank you for your strength and positive attitude. Your so encouraging. I support your choices. My husband had 2 different cancers. Although he lost his battle with cancer, but I respected his choices. Keep up your positive attitude and I think you are beautiful inside and out. I always look forward to your videos. Thank you!❤ sending you a big hug from Italia.
Thank you for your kind words. I am sorry to hear that your husband lost his battle. Your support for him and his choices was so selfless and supportive.
You’re gorgeous! Your spirit is so very sensitive and insightful. We have a lot more to learn from you than your many talents at making art. I hope you are on the road to recovery ❤️🩹
Daniela, you look great. so glad to see you again. we missing you and we are waiting for your new videos. prayers for you as you continue on your fight to good health.
Thank you for the uplifting message. We all know cancer victims. I've had short hair for many years but have always had perms, cuts, color, etc. I'm mid-70-ish and so tired of the vicious cycle. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and go shorter and straighter!
Thank you! Hair is quite the conundrum in our lives. We try and balance feeling confident with ease of care. When we find that equlibrium, we become the happiest with our hair, at least in my experience. ❤️
Thank you so much for this video and the introspection and honesty that you've shared. You are so courageous! I am so happy to have crossed paths with you, even if only online. ❤
Daniela, thank you for sharing your decision and your process. One thing about hair is that whatever we do with it, it's usually a date, not a marriage. I like that you are happy and open to trying new things, other dates, with your hair. Continued recovery.
Thank you for doing this for others who are going through the process of figuring out what to do when they are diagnosed. I don't have cancer but my mother had it and things like this video can mean a lot to people like her. You are a trooper and I hope you are doing better. Praying for you and I hope you have a wonderful week. Even though I am a day late Happy Mothers Day.😊
Daniela you are such a beautiful person on the inside as well as the outside. Love your positive outlook. Prayers for you often. Thanks for sharing. 🙏❣️👍🙌
I think hard things make us stronger. I want to thank you for your video on a care basket. My friend is going thru cancer treatment. So your video was perfect for me. I made up a basket of items and took it to her. We hugged❤
Thank you for such an inspiring video, I’m so pleased you are looking so well when I know you are going through such a challenging time. Many blessing and love to you xxx😊❤️
My daughter went through chemo at 16. Its just hair....it was pediatric oncology....tough to see as mother. But it's the people you meet that get you through it...the medical staff and patients and their families. I worked in the county jail. You know the men would shave their heads before going to prison. Getting prepared for what's next. I'm praying for you.
Thank you sharing your experience. I can't even imagine what you and your daughter went through.❤️ I agree, that the people you meet along the process, are just amazing. Thank you for your prayers and reaching out.
looking great Daniela :) I didn't shave my head at first. I thought I'd see how fast it falls out. Well, if I would have known how many times I got the vacuum cleaner going and cleaned the drain in the shower ..my, my ,my ! The last stray bits I asked my husband to shave off early one morning. During the lock down we ordered a hair cutting kit for him so that came in handy. It's almost 2 years since my last chemo and it's looking good :) Thanks you for reaching out and sharing your experience with others.
I shaved my head also. I am 3 years in remission from 1 cancer and 6 months in remission from my other cancer. Yes I have 2 and one is rare to have with other. But the most important thing is I’m still here !😊

I have to admit I've always been a little partial to blonds, (I know, typical man 😄). But you're very pretty either way. I'm also thinking of shaving my hair just because it's the last thing I want to be thinking of during this. Anyways thank you.

Stay strong. My sister shaved here head, as she didn't want to have patches of hair, her husband also shaved his as well, to support her.
