Very nice. Love the theme. Also found high temp grease helps in the coaster wheel, to keep coaster brakes from over heating and killing the bearings.

Beautiful day, beautiful area, nice bike, nice ride. I have a similar engine setup on a Huffy Cranbrook. I bent the crank arms for clearance, and installed two caliper brakes, operated by one lever. I am using the rubber sandwich on the spokes to mount the drive sprocket, and find it adequate - four builds using it, no spoken brokes so far. (Got my mords wixed up, there, for fun.)

Drill a hole through the chain tensioner and into the bicycle frame. Put a self-tapping screw through the hole and into the bike frame to serve as a pin to prevent the chain adjuster from loosening and rolling into your rear wheel spokes. If that happens, the spokes will break, the wheel will lock (and possibly collapse) and you'll crash.

I have 4 two stroke bikes and with regular check overs and maintenance they have caused me very little issues some have had none at all and all have been running for over 3 years so far, same jugs, pistons everything.
It's highly recommended that you open up and clean the engine out, check ports and piston orientation before cranking them over!

Your rite about having a tool bag , have one on my schwinn jaguar 4 stroke ,monark springer forks, hairpin 3 spring saddle hub mount 44t sprocket rear rim V brakes, front disc brake flat drag handlebars ,heavy duty 12g. Spoke wheels arch spring loaded chain tensioner, what it really needs is a belt drive transmission, still using the stock single chain one ,they vibrate a lot you have to keep them loaded with lots of grease ,and yes breakdowns are to be expected just like early motorcycles .😂

  • @WillB-lv1xg
    @WillB-lv1xg 4 года назад +3

I advise pinning the hub adapter on the 2 post side in the middle and using a non bushing belt drive transmision like a 4G. That being said if the motor is mounted solid you will have much less issues than the 2 stroke kits if riding frequently. Also the clutch with bolts in the middle of the pads will sometimes come loose meaning the clutch will grab and stall the engine. I recommend loctiting the bolts or using the other clutch type. The spring loaded tensioner with a heavier spring tack welded to the frame will probably keep the chain from coming loose.

I am seeing a lot of comments about their engines are not so good and keep breaking down etc, etc.
All I know is that I got mine from EBAY and the kit came from U-MOTO.
It's a two stroker 66 cc or whatever, I don't really remember, and this thing is AMAZING.
I got it almost 3 years ago.
It came with a Roadmaster 18 speed mountain bike (It may be 21 speed I forget).
The whole thing was around $250.00.
I'm getting around 30 - 35 mph, but it may be off a little as I haven't installed the speedo yet.
I've had 2 mopeds and 1 Honda cb200 motorcycle so I am pretty much sure of how my speed is from experience.
I have ridden motorcycles more than a few times.
And I used to ride my mopeds ALL the time in San Diego as well as in Kentucky.
Who knows, I may have just been lucky with the kit I got.
I'm not complaining by a long shot.
I procrastinated somewhat and after I built it, things came up and I ended letting it sit for 2 years chained up out back.
Recently during the fall I got it back up and running and I wish I never let it set.
I shoulda been riding it everywhere.
This thing is -- AWESOME --.
I just about have it broken in and now winter is here.
I live in Kentucky and don't do winter very well.
When spring hits, I plan to add some high performance parts to it.
I'm sorry if any of you out there have had problems, but the good news about that is:
    .
    . Mine works fine.
    .
Hey --- I didn't say it was good news for you.

I just purchased the Bikeberry kit lol, not any better, probably worse and more expensive. I had to go out and buy a new transmission because the $100 bikeberry transmission they sold me has a drive gear that is not compatible with a 415H chain for some odd reason . Fighting with bikeberry over it, they say it's perfectly fine, Even after I send them pictures, It's not even usable. And on top of that the kit didn't even come with a bottom bracket. Although the engine mounting plate is pretty good, and the cranks are a little bit nicer than I expected.

Anyway I wouldn't be so quick to down eBay kits , I build Alot of bikes both 2 and 4 stroke and generally the quality of stuff on eBay is pretty solid, even if you don't really know what your looking for. Bikeberry on the other hand are scammers, never had an order from them come complete on time and not break pretty quick. They also say they are an American company, but are in fact, Chinese. All their stuff comes from china- all of it. But the point of this hobby is be safe have fun build what you like from wherever you decide to get it..... Just be careful when ordering from "big boys" like bike berry -what you see is DEFINITELY NOT always what you get.

    • @dmoore0079
      @dmoore0079 3 года назад

It all depends on the rear sprocket size. The larger the sprocket, the quicker the engine will rev up which equals lower top speed. If your sprocket is smaller, you can run higher speeds at lower RPM at the cost of slower takeoff speed and in some cases, burning your clutch up. From what I recall, the tallest you can set up gearing on the 49cc huasheng motor is to top out at about 35mph @ 8000rpm. The 79cc predator won't rev as high as the Huasheng, but it will make much more power at lower RPM. If want a really easy cruiser that will run nice cruising speeds at low rpm and take any hills you throw at it, you'll want to run one of the larger horizontal shaft 4 strokes that have the 3/4" output shaft. That will allow you to run a torque converter which will give you a nice strong takeoff, reasonable cruising rpm, and good hill climbing power all in one. I believe the Honda GX120 and Lifan 4HP motors are the smallest displacement available with a 3/4" shaft (49cc and 79cc are both 5/8" shaft)

    • @stephenandloriyoung5716

Vibration is the bugaboo with mine, too. I made simple rubber mounts between the engine and mounting plate, and between the mounting brackets and the bike frame. This helps some, but it still lacks that splendid isolation of the machinery from the driver's position you get in the better Rolls Royces. Easier on gas, though. Is it a straight shaft or a tapered shaft?
    Subscribed! Good video!
What camera are you using ?
Where did you find your clutch?
    Thank you man

The engine is actually a stepped shaft. So neither tapered nor straight shaft parts fit it well. The clutch is for a 5/8 straight shaft. It's sloppy, but works. The camera is a Canon M50 and a Gopro 8 for the ride footage.

@@letsgoshooting3578 thank you! I have the exact same shaft, it sucks to not be able to just buy the right replacement parts, because there are none.
I rode 25 miles yesterday and came home with two broken spokes. At this point i don’t know if i should keep invest money in this one or get a proper grubee kit

You’re going to kill yourself with those brakes. You did a good job with the engine, time to upgrade to disc or good drum brakes. Watch out for the deer.

Both are not feasible, both sides have sprockets in them, so the only thing you can upgrade is the front tyres

Imadizzapointment several years ago, I purchased a hub that has a drum brake and the hub incorporates a 3 speed index shifter that does the gearing internally. I never used it for any bike projects so I cannot say whether the drum brakes are good but they certainly appeared beefy. My impression was that your installation avoided those chintzy style sprockets that attach to the spokes. In that regard, your setup is much better than any other I have seen. Did that require that you change the hub by unlacing all of the spokes and reattaching them to the new hub? That would explain why drum brakes are not feasible. Just curious how the sprocket kit attaches to the hub.
