      Mmm…Mandarin isn’t the hardest language at all for English speakers - similar flexible sentence structure like English, no gendering of objects like English, and it’s even more logical in transliterations of certain things e.g. train = ‘fire vehicle’, or computer = ‘electric brain/mind’. The tones would be hardest part for English speakers.

    Thank you for highlighting food adventures in China.... I visited for 3 weeks from Canada and most people in my life questioned why I would visit China at all....China definitely has a bad reputation, but it is mainly based on western propoganda. Everyone was so kind to me, and I felt very safe as a solo female. I had the best 3 weeks travelling there, and the food was amazing! Wish more people would give China a chance!

      I think there are two reasons: first, foreigners may not like some special foods in China. Second, some animals and plants can only grow in China's specific geographical environment, so they are not available in other countries.

    • @ssomms2361
      @ssomms2361 18 дней назад +8

      @@Chuyu-wx4rh Another reason is it depends which region of Chinese ppl immigrated/emigrated to other countries first. The roses are called bare root bushes here in the States. It is common to buy them that way (so you can inspect the health of the roots, and not just see dirt) but they will generally be packed in damp hay to keep the hairy like roots moist and reduce strain on the plant. Hint on the lavender, if you notice the scent fading, put it in a plastic bag and in the freezer for a couple weeks. Don’t know why this has worked for me and it may not work for anyone else but lavender is worth a try.

    A potato buffet??? I’m booking my ticket 😂
    Glad you enjoyed so much.
    You said something about Vegas, are you off there soon? I have never been to USA but I worry that the food will disappoint you.
    That last lady was so fun and random, I wonder how on earth they manage to keep charge of payments.
    Glad you’re having fun, love from Ireland as always ❤

      The lady does not need to take the cash to collect the payments. The customer scans the QR code to pay.

    Great episode. That potato dish looked yummy. Perhaps the cigarette ashes were a secret ingredient of the Shaokao.

    Speaking of yunnan’s famous ham, there’s also a big population of hui people (Chinese Muslim), and they make a cured beef that’s really good. You’ll have to try it!! It’s made in various dishes: sautéed, in soups, fried on its own. Great with rice!

    It is very common to get bareroot roses. Most roses are grafted, where the 'prettier' flower variety is Frankenstein monster style attached to the root and base of a more robust variety so they can't be cultivated as seeds.

    A potato buffet sounds like heaven to me!🤤 Imagine getting married in that city with that amazing selection of flowers! I don't think I would ever be able to eat in most of the places you show (I eat vegan, gluten free) but it's still fun to watch you enjoy it. 🌻
