- Thanks for checking out our Creedence Clearwater Revival reaction. Bad Moon Rising is an interesting song that caught us by surprise. It's hard to pinpoint the location of the sound. The band is from Cali but they sound like if Louisiana and Florida had a baby.

“There’s a bathroom on the right”. My friend sang that 20 years ago and it’s all I ever hear now.
I used to think the same thing. When this song was released it was long before FM Radio became a thing and most people heard it on the AM car radio not known for accurate fidelity. Somewhere there is a list of songs from this era with misheard lyrics.
Apparently Fogerty thought it was funny enough he said he would sometimes sing bathroom instead of bad moon live at concerts.
I like to think he sings "baboon on the right" 😆
it’s bedroom on the right lol
i always think of the fight between Goku and Vegeta when i hear this
Funny thing is John wrote about bayous of Louisiana and Florida, has a severe Cajun sound, but is from Cali
Northern Cali to be exact...home of San Francisco and Berkley.
And they are close to the Sacramento / San Joaquin Delta. Not the same vibe, but still water & land intermingling. No swampland 😅
Love that you guys are checking out more CCR!!! You gotta check out my 2 faves by them!!! Born on Bayou and Run Thru the Jungle!
I always get hyped by "Travellin Band" :)
Yup, especially Run Thru the Jungle, that beat and unique vocal will get them both moving!
Perfect timing. This song and album "Green River" came out on this date in 1969.
Lex, you are a blast. You have an old hippy soul. You’d have been in music heaven if you’d grown up with this music like your viewers did. But you’d be old now like us too. But even though we’re old now, I wouldn’t trade growing up with such amazing music for anything. Y’all are fun, keep up the great reactions! 👍😊
CCR has so many great songs. Listen to John's solo stuff. And a side note when I hear this song I can't help think of the transformation scene in American werewolf in London.
I came here just to suggest that movie. Logan's Run too, because I just can't get enough Jenny Agutter.
Everyone does myself included but it's actually blue moon that plays during it.
@@ptfcgee well strike one up for the Mandella effect. It's been so long I thought it was Bad moon rising.
That’s what I was thinking.
@@ptfcgee No Blue Moon is during the opening scene
It always amazes me when people haven’t heard of CCR. It was such a part of my life from being so little until being so old now. This song always told me to be strong when shit was at its worst. Staple music in many wars. Soldiers always have CCR ready.
Their "Heard It Through the Grapevine" is amazing!!
While growing up, I heard so much CCR on the radio that I never bought any of their records.
They are from the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Although I had the record years before when it was first released, I'll always remember this song in the movie "American Werewolf In London" playing right before the guy's transformation into the beast!!
Try their 11-minute cover of Heard It Through The Grapevine if you want guitar solos! For Louisiana sounds, try Born on the Bayou, cowbells and all!
I love young people finding new old stuff. Like finding gold.
I’ve always liked when the music and lyrics are at odds with each other. It’s like defiant in a way.
Abalone again, naturally" -gilbert o'sullivan(not sure how to spell it)
CCR's version of 'I Put a Spell on You' would be a fun one
I agree
THIS - make sure it is the live version you will not regret it!!!
Yes!! Was just going to post that as a suggestion for their next step in their CCR trip! Love watching you, Brad and Lex. You will love it. Especially you, Lex!
Angelina Jordan's version blows everyone away.
...and long as i can see the light
Midnight Special great song. It's a cover of old school southern blues. Then was covered by many others
Love that song. Always reminds me of the opening scene in "Twilight Zone : The Movie."
it's a story about a prison in southern texas. the midnight special is a train that comes around and the engine light shines into the prison cells.
You guys should do “Lookin Out My Back Door” by CCR
If you can I'd react to the official video. It's in black and white with the band just jamming in a living room. Such a happy feelgood song.
@@annaoswald5943 exactly that’s why it’s one of my faves
The Children of Bodom version?
Can never have enough of CCR! 🤟
I recall CCR's music being referred to as "swamp rock".
My personal CCR faves: Run through the jungle, and Green River. Love the channel!
Love CCR
To be fair, it is not exactly a cover song. The record label Motown Records had a couple writers write that song and made 2 of thier biggest artist at the time do the song. They were I THINK a year apart but neither Marvin or Fogerty write that one. Maybe it is still considered a cover in that regards but most people dont realize true origin of that song. They assume its a Marvin Gaye song exclusively. Both versions are undeniably good though haha love em
This song always reminds me of the movie AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON
My goodness, the world would be a MUCH better place if there were more Lexis in it. Such a sweet, unassuming, exuberant spirit. Brad - every guy should be so jealous of you!!
Can't go wrong on CCR...so many great songs....perhaps "Fortunate Son" next?
I like run through the jungle
You ever hear Clutch’s cover? Pretty good but everything Clutch does is good. ✌️
@@jpanici listening while answering your question....and i'm liking what i'm hearing!
@@pauljansen1137 yeah Clutch has been around for 30 years and they only get better. 🤘😆🤘
Definitely "Fortunate Son"!!!!!!
Gotta do Looking out my Back Door, good vibes. I Put a Spell on You is another great song.
This song always makes me think of that movie An American Werewolf in London, ha, it plays in a pivotal shape-changing scene!
every song in the movie had to do with the moon.
"The Midnight Special" in TwilightZone The Movie. 😐🤣
I vote for more CCR!!! I love your energy Lex!!
Brad wearing a straw hat, barefoot, shirtless and in overalls in their next stream? I'd definitely tune in for that!!
Great reaction to a great song, I love you guys ❣️
This is the title track from the movie American Werewolf in London. It fit so well, "Bad moon arising", "don't come around tonight, it's bound to take your life".
This song always brings watching American werewolf in London to my memory.
Same, I love the song but it always invokes a tiny bit of fear/tension because of the AWiL film :D
I've always interpreted this song as the hours and minutes before the launch of the Tet offensive during the Vietnam war.
Classic CCR. ❤
"Born on the bayou" is a must for Lex's New Orleans needs!
My grandpa would have ccc and patsy cline casette tapes in his Buick at all times, he passed in learly 2000,s. Great stuff guys, now check patsy cline, crazy. 🥰🥰
"There's a bathroom on the right" was what we used to sing sometimes in place of "Bad moon on the rise" when listening to this jam!
Love both of your energy. Your videos makes me wanna listen to music I haven’t heard in a while. Keep doing what you do.
The perfect hurricane party song. I agree.
Beautiful fantastic fabulous song.🕺🎺🎤🎻🌺🌷👍💐🎈💃🎼🎸
CCR is one of the greatest American bands of all time and I agree with you about being "happy music" because it puts you in such a good mood listening to it. You cant NOT smile to this band lol they have soul
I feel this song goes perfect with what's going on in the world like for real 🙏
That was more of a guitar "break" than a solo. But anytime one single instrumentalist (drummer, vocalist, bassist, guitarist, pianist, etc) comes to the forefront for more than one measure... That's a solo.
"Born on the Bayou is an ABSOLUTE MUST!! Plz get to it!............immediately
This was the first song i learned to play on guitar
I got a guitar a couple weeks ago and this is the first song I could play! Sort of
‘I put a spell on you’ next! Another CCR classic!
At 7:07 greatest reaction ever, she was trying to roll with it and looked at you like wtf nah man but was like “yeah sure”
Best whistlin' past the graveyard song ever.
Maaaan listen. You cannot go wrong with CCR. Stellar musicans. Great songwriting. John Fogerty's voice has SOUL. Great reaction.
Heard it through the Grapevine is their best for me.
John Fogerty has said he wrote this song and lyrics after watching the movie, "The Devil and Daniel Webster". ... In the movie, a farmer, Daniel Webster makes a deal with the devil to become rich. So, the devil makes sure that Daniel's crops grow great and flourish while all of the other farmer's crops do not grow. ... The lyrics to this song is a reaction to seeing all of the dead crops and barren fields.
You should react to the double album soundtrack for Forest Gump! You'd both love it 🤘🤘
Guitar solos are generally played over the rest of the band, often with the rhythm guitar played under it.
This is one of the last songs that played before we lost radio when Katrina hit. They play this and Rock You Like A Hurricane and shit like that all day until the wheels come off lol
Helplessly Hoping from Crosby, Stills & Nash is a must do, U both will enjoy it. Easy listening
Great band! One of the best ever and something for everyone to enjoy. Traveling band is one of my favorites
Got to love Lex and her energy!
Best wedding song Ever.....
I can picture Brad in just overalls and a trucker cap dancing with Lex in a corn field. Lol
Y'all have some really good thoughts. I've been on a binge watching your videos for the past several days. You pick great songs and I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
My favorite song of all time.
Seriously need to listen to I Put A Spell On You. Awesome guitar and very gritty voice! One of their absolute best tracks
They used this track for American Warewolf in London, Lex hit the nail on the head
CCR's I Put a Spell on You, is a whole lot of different again.
👍👏👏👏
I love how excited Lex gets for everything. So dope.
You’re killing me when you take the lyrics so literally all the time… It’s poetry, a metaphor for a tumultuous times they were living in post MLK an JFK Assassinations, Vietnam war… It’s not about the weather
Hear, hear!
@@EaterOfBaconSandwiches That is because so much of todays music is like cotton candy. Sweet and little substance.
@@EaterOfBaconSandwiches yeah, between the lack of good English education and the fact that music has gotten a lot more literal… I was in high school 20 years ago (and I feel old now saying that), and we definitely covered metaphor, but not that much tbh. I think if I hadn’t grown up with classic rock, if I hadn’t been a prolific reader in my own, I wouldn’t have the grasp of poetry and metaphor that I do. It’s not really taught anymore. It was barely taught when I was in school. If you didn’t teach yourself, you didn’t learn.
the whole song is a double entendre, so they not wrong for taking it as a song about weather
And listening on a record player makes all these THAT MUCH MOOOOOOORE! We are losing history as well as the beauty and pain of music.
Long as I can see the light!
Perfect Hurricane Song or even Halloween
🎶there’s a bathroom on the right🎶
One my favorite oldies.
I love this reaction! I love CCR!!!
This was my dads favorite song and band. Love watching reactions to this song
My interpretation: A battle plan in war. The objective of this battle was to counter attack the enemy to take over a compound or territory, the odds of terrain and weather conditions were overwhelming and against them. Rivers overflowing, related to rivers of blood from the casualties of war. Specifically VietNam (period correct) Many war-anti war songs in that era. "Bad Moon Rising is a full moon, it illuminates massive light in jungles. The enemy can see you clearly. It could have an entirely different meaning
I would love brad to dissect the lyrics to “Lookin’ Out My Backdoor” 😂
We know how lex will react
You all have experience Journey
When I was little I thought the chorus was yeah there's a bathroom on the right. 😊
The songs about the apocalypse, which should be the ultimate blast. I already have y party hat on!
You are correct in thinking that was the guitar solo. Great song
This song always makes me want to watch 'An American Werewolf in London.'
Love it. Great song.
Similar theme is "The End of the World As We Know It" by REM. Upbeat, happy tune about the end of the world. You might check it out! And to me a guitar solo is where the guitar is featured during a break in the lyrics. It doesn't preclude the other instruments from being played, it's just when there's no lyric. And the same can apply to any other instrument solo - saxophone, piano, whatever. You guys make me smile, love your reactions. Keep 'em coming!
I was in junior high when this came out...great song...
When I was at Boston University, me and my friend would get a 12-pack of suds, pop CCR in the tape deck, and make the 3-hour drive up on a Friday night to visit our friend in Colby College, Maine. No pee breaks. Good times. Sad bladder.
Lex’s spirit brings me happiness. Thank you!
Robert Smith is famous for happy sounding tunes to carry a dark message. You should check out The Cure.
Absolutely love this song
Your reactiion was great fun "Bad Moon Rising" comes from World War II when the German U boats could use the light of the full moon to torpedo cargo ships in the convoy. This was a Vietnam War song and very appropriate lyrics for those times when the moon made night attacks possible. The upbeat music is a contrast which is needed to keep the spirits up. It reminds me of the Bunny Girl scene in Apocalyse Now.
Their songs were mostly talking about Vietnam-War/war/What a solider may go through. Saw a documentary about CCR when I was much younger.
She organically discovered lead guitar! Awesome!!!
🎵🎶 "Theeeeere's a bathroom on the riiight!" 🎶🎵🚽🧻
Im definitely with Brad on the "overalls-no-shirt" thing
Killin it with the videos on my day off!
Please react to Band Maid "Domination" Live 2020 ...You love it 🖤
LOVE that you are doing more Classic Rock
sounds pretty spot on lyrically.
Their song Looking Out My Backdoor is my personal favorite. Hope you guys listen to it, I think you'll like it.
Great played at Carnival( Fair) rides with its bopping track.
Ramble Tamble, Run through the Jungle by CCR. You will not be disappointed with those.
Brad, Lex this is one of the best Bands ever. now try, Depeche Mode - People Are People and Personal Jesus.
Such an upbeat tune with dark lyrics. Btw, theeeere's a bathroom, on the right😂
Such a classic!!!
I agree on fortunate son -CCR
Kansas Carry on my Wayward Son Lex you'll love it
It's like Zydeco combined with the Bakersfield Sound. It was used to good effect in the movie "American Werewolf in London."
