CCRs cover of I Put A Spell On You is EPIC!!! You need to listen to the live vid, filmed at Woodstock. Also, Born on the Bayou, Green River, Down On the Corner, Cotton Fields (another cover), Ramble Tamble. Their cover of Midnight Special is wonderful too. Can't go wrong with CCR!! “I Put a Spell on You” is one of my favorite songs. Originally written and performed by the wild & fun ‘Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in 1958 - I saw him perform his African witch doctor show in the late 1980s - terrific performance.
Many artists have done covers of his song - I love Nina Simone’s 1965 version, which is sultry and soulful.
A 9 year-old Angelina Jordan will blow your socks off with her passionate 2016 performance - she channeled Screamin’ Jay Hawkins voodoo style - even had his face on the candle she lit, in the video before she began singing.
As much as I love all the above mentioned artists and their versions of this great song - my favorite, hands-down, is CCR’s 1968 bluesy rock cover. Hope you react to it (and the other mentioned renditions). Maybe do a day dedicated to that song? All versions are on my Halloween play list.
Anyway, here’s the link - Enjoy!!

A bunch of the kids at first thought that instead of saying "there's a bad moon rising" he was saying "there's a bathroom on the right". 🤣🤣🤣 There were many arguments over what the lyrics were. The bathroom bunch were convinced the meaning of that line was go hide in the bathroom. 🤣🤣🤣 The rest of us got tired of the argument quickly and just enjoyed the song.
