I’ve recently went back to TPAB the other day and one little thing I noticed about it that makes the album great is its sequencing. I just love how Kendrick carefully sequenced the songs and the album flows so well because of it! I wish more artists focused more on that
To Feefo's point, I cant just decide to go back to TPAB but let me tell you, when you do, you get sucked in. I always tell myself im just going to listen to These Walls cause it's my favorite song off the album. But then it transitions and then the next song transitions, and then the next song transitions. Everytime i listen to the album from front to back, i never regret it. I haven't done my list yet cause i still need to listen to Alligators by Doechii. But TPAB will be #1 for me no matter how my list develops.

@nah8780 musically, Z is better than CTRL and SOS. And the context is better. In SOS and CTRL, shes just a broken hearted woman that talks about her ex. SOS was 6 years after CTRL but she still sings about the same subject. Plus that half rapping, half singing thing she does really discredits her pure vocal ability. Z is pure vocal SZA. And the instrumental are more musical on Z. Just my opinion.
@@enkenthouse I still enjoy it a lot, cause it's good for what it is, a short EP that showcased her potential, but to me it's definitely her weakest project... it's basically a demo (but a good one lol) I feel like CTRL and SOS are better showcases of her as an artist, on Z she was clearly still finding her footing
@nah8780 I have to say the opposite. I think Z was the peak of her artistic ability, especially vocal ability. CTRL came out, she was more rapping/singing than singing. And she was talking about her breakup. 6 years later and you get the same in SOS. Almost identical. It's subject matter that appeals to women I know, but it doesn't showcase her artistic ability. Z does. Even the instrumentals on Z are more ambitious.

Idk what TDE's issue with Reason was. I feel like they underestimated his talents and then the industry and larger music crowd underrated his ability. Everytime i hear a track from Rzn that pops up on my spotify im like, this is soo good! flow is there, wordplay, rhyme schemes, beat selection, hooks are catchy. His voice isn't the greatest but it's easily passable with all the other positives. He's like an athlete on your team that doesn't do anything flashy but he does almost everything right for you to win. So yeah he should have gotten an honorable mention at least. I really liked his first release with TDE. He could be the one that got away for the label. I hope he goes to Dreamville or something.
Yea but the album comes from his experience in Cali. He talked about how the weather just makes the days blend together, making his time there feel like one long hot ass day. Hence the name The Sun’s Tirade
It’s funny how TPAB is supposedly this great album but the streams on that album is wayyy lower than all the rest of his albums. Which means majority isn’t listening to it. How is an album you don’t listen to better than the ones you do???? 😂😂😂
Because the album is not as new as Mr morale. But just as deep and tied to the concept . Means there are not many songs designed for playlists , radio, club or whip . It only works if listened in full for the most part . Section 80 , DAMN and GKMC have better individual songs that work in different occasions. As full listening Experience it’s his best album slightly before gkmc for me .
This is like saying every Jay-Z album after 2007 is better than Reasonable Doubt or Speakerboxx/The Love Below is Outkast best album. Streams don't mean anything to the quality of an album.
@@thefinessekid9335 yes it does. That means it has no replay value. So in all actuality it’s not that great. Yall need to stop with the streams stufff. They MATTER.
@@Sammy-tr2ie It does not mean it has no replay value, the lowest amount of plays on that album is still over 50 million on spotify. If we determined what was good in Hip Hop off solely streams than the entire ranking of certain artists as well as their individual albums would be different. All streams do is show which songs are more accessible, it in no way shows the quality of the music.

Control System got me through Afghanistan so i’ll be bias and put it in my top 10
