Loved this movie! I'm 54, and i went by myself. I routinely get to the theater late because I see all the trailers online these days. I was pleasantly surprised when the movie was over and the lights came up, that most of the other 15 or 20 people in the movie were older folks. One person actually had an oxygen tank. It was great seeing older folks supporting this movie.
Thelma is a better version of the beekeeper, because instead of Jason Stratham going after people that scam old ladies, it’s the old lady herself who goes after the scammer
Saw this last weekend. Loved the cast and found the story endearing. It was great to see Richard Roundtree go out on such a high note, and he was wonderful with June Squibb.
I saw this movie today. It is the action comedy of the year! With a few tears. It was well-acted and written. Thelma is certainly the focus. But the roles played by Parker and Clark were so important. They were worried about both Thelma and their son Danny. Danny's basically lost in life but taking care of his grandma gives him a sense of purpose.
Just saw this movie last night and it was so great. I thought to myself is that Malcolm Mcdowell? I thought so. I didn't see who was acting in the movie before I saw it. I love love Malcom Mcdowell! My partner told me after the movie and I was like I thought so but was afraid to embarrass myself. I was even happier I saw it.
Hi Joseph & Nick! 🌴I used to go to Souplantation all the time in LA.🌴It was one of my favorite restaurants. Souplantation permanently closed two months after Covid19 started, which forced all restaurants to close. At that time in 2020 there was no timeframe when restaurants could re-open....and that's when a lot of the restaurants sadly closed forever.😢
Some funny parts, but also some parts that reminded me of my Mom who has passed away. While we like to think Seniors are active, they are not always and the fragility in the movie is definitely true. The grandson saying he would miss Thelma when she dies made me tear up and hit close to home. Not a bad movie, but not great either.
The Beekeeper! Thelma did a better job than Statham. At least she got her money back. I loved this movie. I had to go see my grandmother after I left the theater.
This is out of context from the video but I was wondering if you guys liked film scores? If you do, I think it would be a fun idea for you guys to do a video on what your favorite film soundtracks/scores are!
There’s a joke where the family is talking to the nursing home employees, one of whom is Black, about an incident in Soup Plantation when Thelma got lost.except she wasn’t really lost, she’d just gone back for seconds and the midst of this tense conversation, while they are very worried about Thelma, the grandson has an epiphany about what a problematic name “Soup Plantation “ was, and the Black employee nods knowingly, while parker posey and her husband remain clueless
Oh my goodness! I want to see this and tell others. I’m only a hop and a skip from the home myself! Is there a trailer? When is it in theaters? (Does it have distribution? I noticed you mentioned this was a festival screening) Where’d you see it? Thanks so much for this one! 👵🏾🎞️🍿❤️
Wow, another movie named Thelma?? 😂😂😂 Seriously, there are other names you can call your movie, you know!!! 😊 2017’s “THELMA,” is excellent as well. And of course, “Thelma & Louise.”

They asked June, whom she would want to costar with in an action movie. She said Jason Statham. You were spot on. 😂
June started doing films in the 90s but she’s been acting since 1948. She was in Gypsy with Ethel Merman on Broadway.

This movie looks interesting. When I was a kid I had a cat named Thelma and a next door elderly neighbor who was also named Thelma.
Great review! I just saw this on Canada Day with my folks; I love that you also loved it! Adorably funny film.
I had a great time with this movie, i never heard of it before seeing it yesterday lol. Had a lot of older people in the crowd and a lot of laughter
This movie had me with the motorized scooter 😊
This sounds awesome. The cast, the story, the thumbnail; thank you as always.
So nice that a nonagenarian lead actor, could give you two something satisfying and entertaining to watch...in January☺
I'm so glad this movie is good! I loved the trailer! I always love June Squibb!

Delta Work always references Soup Plantation on her podcast 😅
I absolutely loved this movie. You don’t get these kinds of Film’s much anymore nowadays.
Saw it today. Very enjoyable.

I should've paid attention in the beginning smh.
