    Beautiful design. Truly timeless AND modern. Amazing use of space, the...... mid yard(?) pool is stunning and ties the front and back together seamlessly. Love the hvac design aspect of the home allowing good airflow for those non ac days. Kickazz closets! Congrats on your new home away from home! On to part 3!

      Thank you so much, Joshua! These videos got long, but I wanted to go really in-depth and I'm glad it paid off. The details were crazy to work out, but having a great team behind us was so worth it. Thank you again for your kind words, it's been fun!

      LOL - Love that, and the paycheck doesn't hurt. That being said, it extends a bit further down here, right?

      Yep - I'll see if I can get the cost breakdown for the landscaping overall. Thanks for watching!

      Thank you so much! I'm going to mix up the measurements because I remember them in two separate standards lol, but it's about 12 feet by 8 meters. It's also about 4.5 - 5 feet deep at it's deepest point.

    Please let us know when the top area is available to rent and how it be listed Airbnb? -plan on traveling to Merida within the next 9 months (likely in late fall or winter) to look at some properties.

    • @AlexanderFromKC
      @AlexanderFromKC  2 года назад

      It should be available to rent soon, we actually had Henry's rental office contact us about a potential renter staying there a couple of weeks after we leave - good news! It will, however, be the whole house that gets rented out, not just the top level. The only area that won't be available is the master bedroom, which will function as out storage area when not in use.

    How much do you think it would cost to rent something similar? Monthly long term not a b and b..

    • @AlexanderFromKC
      @AlexanderFromKC  Год назад

      For something like this, between $3,5k - $4.5k. I'm sure you can find better and better deals the longer you're willing to rent though.

    Why didn't you just hook up a tv as a monitor for your computer? Been doing this for years and much cheaper. I run three 40" Vizios on mine at this time. I usually get them from the pawn shops for $100 or less in the states.

    • @AlexanderFromKC
      @AlexanderFromKC  Год назад +1

      So the computer that I have in the city utilizes a second monitor that's a tv, and I love it too. The reason is that the monitor (while I enjoy it too) is mainly for my wife. She's an attorney and the wide aspect ratio helps A LOT when it comes to spacing out documents to read, and then using the other half of the screen to write, record time, make notes, etc. We actually have the 49" Samsung in the states for her, but I couldn't get that one down there - in the time/price we needed it. That one allows for at least three windows to be open at a time with the format of a regular monitor.
      Good call though, as most of the time I recommend your solution as well, because many people think computer = need a computer monitor.

      @@AlexanderFromKC Yes, I run mine with split windows. I have a 60" that I use to exam docs. Makes huge difference when the image is less than perfect. I had one doc that the attorney's secretary had seen one thing when it was actually something quite different when "forensically" examined. The original had been written in pencil over a hundred years prior. The smudge of the lead had really made it less than discernible until it was enlarged about 600 times and became clear as a bell.
      As a different matter, do you think that an 80 year old with less than perfect health who has a burning desire to move to Merida is an absolute nut???

    • @AlexanderFromKC
      @AlexanderFromKC  Год назад +1

      @@byrw9557 Not at all, but I would definitely say "visit first" if you haven't already. Centro is an amazing area, but depending on your ability to get around it can be a bit treacherous. That being said, the healthcare system is really good, and Star Medica is an absolute top-notch hospital - from what I've heard. I'm commenting based on what you said about "less than perfect health", but with the Rappi app, you can have pretty much everything you might need, delivered to you. I've had everything from food to electronics delivered right to my door. It's a great place, and you won't be the only 80-year-old down there!

      @@AlexanderFromKC I really value your opinion and thanks for being willing to state your thoughts. I am thinking I am going to try to get there. Time is getting short for me as you can see, but it will take me some time to get it all together. I really do appreciate your help! Thanks so much.
      Forgot to mention how much I like your home. It really is neat and you have made it your own. Best wishes and, if I ever make it down there, I will try to look you two up.

    how much did this house cost?

    • @AlexanderFromKC
      @AlexanderFromKC  Год назад +1

      The lot was approximately $120k with all costs included in the sale, and the renovation brought the "all in" to around $500k. That was before furniture though.
