    This was a great reminder and explanation. The book gave me the idea that it’s possible to check progress during meditation. That’s grown so much within me and this video reinforces that at a perfect time for me! Thank you!

    A few days ago for the first time i reached the 5th state. I consider myself a pretty deep mediator and always hear the Aum vibration and can get the light w little effort. But was always puzzled by the “popping” i felt going on in my nose.
    A few days ago for the first time, i achieved the 5th state in practice. And immediately realized that sometimes when I’m lightly sleeping and the body is resting but light consciousness is still there i have the same “woooooshing” type of nasal breath.
    Look forwards to going deeper into that. I have to say that following some of your technique along w those of my guruji 2020 was an awesome year. I had a spiritual experiences in every practice. Sometimes just a buzzing or tingling or super tranquil feeling, just today i felt as if an earthquake just happened. Everything felt to almost start spinning off access.
    Unfortunately i can’t hold these experiences for long. I am an artist and have an active imagination. I just struggle to calm my mind enough to stay there for more than a split second To really feed on that much deeper plain of consciousness.
    Joyful Struggle continues 🖤🖤🖤
    Wooooooosh ☺️

    This explains finally . I always thought I wasn’t progressing since I didn’t see the spiritual eye . But I always felt breath states . There are days I just felt my breath flows so easily and a cool
    Sensation inside the nose as though the nostrils expanded . Also those days when I felt the breath states I would be happy just like that.

      yes, me as well- i have been using breath work primarily for emotion/stress management - Two things i have noticed since watching Forrest's videos is that this breathing , and awareness practice also grows and evolves on it's own - - -it is like what he said a bout a bio-feedback that happens which is wonderful - For me - when i have done practices before ; at first they are 'oh, this is nice. ' but after a time i think - Am i noticing that anything is changing or opening up for me (realizations - better breathing habits all the time or the like) none of them have really done that - and so quickly as the this . I really like it, and feel like i am learning something with it all the time.

    Your information is really so good. I know I thanked you plenty of times but thank you. And a lot of it's even coming after the fact of dealing with things that you talk about, but I'll often still not really have a full explanation myself. And you definitely added a lot of value in information. I would love to hear your take though on why you think there's so many yogis that have practiced things for so long and been told that, you really think that some of them didn't know they could have just told them to drop their breath rate? And use methods like you're describing? It's just something that I really personally Wonder about. Because it's just hard for me to imagine a lot of the guys not knowing to just teach that, were they doing it because they think it's best that it naturally comes along for each individual, was it sometimes to actually waste the individuals life energy, was it sometimes just not the best teachings that could have been or lack of knowledge in general? Or was it just all of the above? Lol and I'm not trying to talk down upon it either, it's just something I personally been tossing around in my head for a while now.

    Conversation with you so I can actually learn something. The big problem I'm having in this is I don't have time, and I spent a lot of time already learning things that didn't really interest me in and there's some things in yoga that deeply interest me that I want to know about. But I see that they're a little bit more of The Fringe part of yoga in the western world. So it's been hard for me to get answers and I've been smack dab in the middle of the peak of my spiritual Awakening so far in my life, poor as possible, away from home, with little support. And I say little support but let it be known that I have support and family, it's just that I don't expect them to get this without being gone through it. I left a few messages on your things I hope you actually talk to me, I think you'll help me a lot

  • @Vshamann336
    @Vshamann336 Год назад

    If you're having a hard time telling if it's actually happening or where it's touching in your nose. My suggestion would be to purposely try to get it to touch in those areas of your nose so that you know what to feel for during your meditation when you're not trying to purposely do it.

    Great Video and thank you for sharing your insight. the following thought occurred to me: what if in the old texts "observing the breath" was misunderstood and instead "observing the nose" would be the much more appropriate translation for "breath meditation / anapanasati"? because the breath is not a direct physical phenomenon, but more a sensation it triggers in the nose. so, in the future, i will practice "nose meditation"

    I can recall that last feeling of free flow of the breath at least one time in my life, interestingly in an everyday situation.

I can actually switch between feeling those different points at will right now having just exited my sadhana a few moments ago.

    Interesting video, I'll trace my breath some more 👍 One question Mr. Forrest, how many stars are there for our consciousness to pierce? Recently, I've seen the fully shaped white star in meditation. I was happy to finally behold it but then I stumbled on an article that says they're more than one star for our consciousness to pierce. It said that piercing the first star is the beginning and that there is two more. Can you help clarify this please 🙏🙏🙏

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  3 года назад +3

      That's a great question. I know that article, or at least it's origin. I've seen all shapes and sizes of stars in meditation. It was never the star that was important, but the deep blue cave itself. And the idea of piercing is only half the idea. The other, and better, idea is expansion. Once you expand in the cave, you leave behind the entire perception of the eye. It's gone, and you are in Absorption.

    • @ForrestKnutson

      Of the biofeedback as guide rails to the good feelings. You're not meant to become obsessed with the technique or with the biofeedback, but rather just use it as a guide. When it's used rightly it is extremely helpful as a guide.

    i hate breath technique (as well as sitting postures), because every time i meditate on my breath, i feel like i identify myself more and more with my body, and whenever i do that, my stomach bloat, i start have constipation, and my digestive system starts functioning very poorly, my happiness always depends on me getting rid of these issues, and after a lot of struggle every day finally i feel a little peace after most of bloating goes away
    i am very desperate at this time i don't want to struggle with this everyday, is there anything that can get rid of bloating and constipation and digestive system issues.
