Hi from England! I have to write a persuasive article of 240 words and I have to draw a plan. Could you teach me them in one single video, if it's possible, please? Thank you.
Not sure but it sounds like you need to write a short argumentative piece. Try to think about what your readers already know and what information would help them agree with you.
Yes, you can use 'upside'! I didn't mention it in the video because it's not as common as the other synonyms that I included. We use it more in speaking and not as much in writing.
@@tychen1978 Yes. Upsides and downsides are a bit more informal than the other words, but I feel like I see the word downsides more often than upsides. We can use them in writing but as I said, they are a bit more informal than the other words.

Hi dear professor, "The decline of in-person movie attendance has led to the closing down of many theaters." I think it's a verbal noun, but the structure is "lead to+noun" and "lead to+gerund" as well as "close down" is a noun and a verb. I looked it up in various dictionaries. I didn't find any word related to "closing down". It should be written like this "......has led to the close down of many theaters." Could you make me understand this structure.
In my opinion, this structure is expected because I think it's lead to + gerund. To close down is a phrasal verb, so "the closing down" is a gerund. It is not common to use the article 'the' before a gerund, but it can occur in some situations when it's referring to something specific.
Hi dear, 1)there are some youtubers on you tube teaching English perfectly. You are one of them. 2) there are some youtubers teaching English perfectly on you tube. I think there is no dangling modifier. Next one- 1)by writing what can a new guy find your channel 2) writing what can a new guy find your channel. I guess both are acceptable. Thank thee.
@@LearnAcademicEnglish hi, I mean those were correct or incorrect?? By writing what/writting what can a guy find your channel?(by writing what/writing what is this question form correct???) Answer: if a guy type the name of your channel, he/she can easily find your channel . I hope it is understandable right now.

Merits and demerits, and Pros and cons can also be used?
