    I’ve just tested the bilt hamber on my Ford Ranger which hadn’t been washed since December and had spent a lot of time on muddy building sites.
    It came up well enough that I didn’t even bother getting the wash mitt out.
    Perfect as a prewash, or for giving your car a quick blast down when you don’t have much time.

    Thanks for that. I know how good the BH autofoam is because after a contact wash (5ml of BH autowash), my white lambswool mitt is still white (except the lower sills where it's thinness means it runs off a bit too quickly).
    I can heartily recommend BH autofoam, autowash, wheel cleaner, double speed wax and the trigger heads are a joy to use.

  • @jayhoughton558

    Bilt Hamber really seems to be unmatched for prewash foam.
    I use their touchless because I do rinseless and done usually use a pressure washer so I want it to free rinse easier. It is amazing.
    It’s too bad the import fees make it so expensive here in Canada. I use it in a pump sprayer instead of a foam canon. I can dilute it easily to the exact percentage I want, and I go through far less product. That 5L will last me a while.
    Hopefully a North American company will come out with a good prewash at some point. I’m surprised they haven’t yet. One that is as safe and non-corrosive as the BH products.

      I found the price to be acceptable from Carzilla for what it does. They do have quite a few of the other foams including the Koch products, but pricing wasn’t as good and even at 8:1 it out cleans any consumer grade foam on the market handily.

    For Bilt Hamber, rule of thumb for PIR is:
    1% is 100ml/ Litre
    2% is 200ml/Litre
    3% is 300ml/Litre
    4% Is 400ml/Litre
    You can calculate it more accurately or just adjust up and down for your set up.
    Happy detailing folks.😊

    • @shrmtales
      @shrmtales 10 месяцев назад +3

      1% of a 1000mls = 10ml get your calculators out.
      PIR is misunderstood by the whole detailing world especially with the foam lances hence the vast differences in outcomes in various tests.
      When using the a PW and a foam lance the total amount of water required to empty the bottle will give you the correct ratio. For example my pw lance and hose etc will use 10 liters to empty my lance so you make the ratio through there because the moving energy to empty the bottle is water not air. That why we have a mess when we compare with spray pumps

    These are 2 very different products however used the same way. Autoglym is designed to not be harsh and user friendly for well maintained cars, this product is very low in alkalinity whereas the Bilthamber is highly alkaline. AF is more of a traffic film remover so will be fairly harsh on LSP. Can be used in a pump sprayer to great effect. It's big brother Touchless has the edge over it though. Every Bilthamber product is a stalwart, it just doesn't carry detailing scene points as Bilthamber don't push advertising. If you wanted a single brand on your shelf then BH has it all. Their fallout remover Kerosol imo is the leader of all fallouts, double speed wax is incredible, I could go on!

    Ahoi Mate! What a lovely video! I switched to Bilt Hamber Foams about a Year ago, and to me they are complete game changers. I totally agree with what you are saying and can say that I came to the exact same conclusions. Touch Less works a bit better for me even but both are very close. They just hit a sweet spot of Cleaning to Material Safety I haven't seen anyone else be able to achieve. There are Foams that clean a little better, but these often contain Sodium or Potassium Hydroxide, making them less safe in my eyes. Your Video is absolutely spot on.
    Two things: KC Active Foam is just a nice pH neutral Foam, its not really alkaline in dilution anymore, if you want that from Koch you need Copo Star (which cleans worse vs the Bilt Hamber Foams) or VB(n) which falls in the super strong category I wouldn't use everyday.
    Lastly I can only recommend getting cotton make up removal pads, that's what I use to show different pre cleaners working.

    9:48 Bilt Hamber Auto Foam is truly brilliant but to use it at its full PIR theres no denying its an expensive product and possibly not something a mobile valeter would use cleaning 4 or 5 cars a day as that would be 5 litres gone but for the weekend warrior cleaning your own car and maybe your your partners its the Bees Knees ..... Touchkess is a bit easier on the pocket as its maximum PIR has been cut to only 2% so you are using maybe 200-250ml to a litre
    The best thing is its completely safe on your wax protection or ceramic coating on the car .... Yes you can buy stuff that will virtually clean the car without a contact wash but they tend to be so strong they strip all the protection off the vehicle as they're more designed and targeted to cleaning vans and lorries

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  Месяц назад +1

      Agreed. I have found 100ml in the lance is a nice balance in cleaning power while not consuming too much product. When you are detailing cars and being paid, you just need to make sure you price the job appropriately as to not waste time, or money. If the car is really dirty, a higher PIR may actually save you elsewhere in time and other products.

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  10 месяцев назад

      Straight from Gyeon’s website.
      “Q²M Foam provides the opportunity to have a home-made touchless wash. It dissolves gime and road-dirt, ensuring a gentle wash afterwards. Hence its characteristics - it not only is totally safe for your coating, but also for uncoated cars or surfaces like polished alloy rims or exterior trim.”
      They absolutely advertise these foams as pre-cleaners designed to do more than lubricate.

      @@sheepstardetail yeah but that product is advertised as a pre wash that is not ph neutral out of the bottle. I'm taking about regular ph neutral soaps like Adam's regular shampoo...etc.

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  8 месяцев назад

      Well I think you answered it right there, it’s a consumer brand vs an enthusiast brand. I’m not trying to single out Autoglym, all mainstream foams fall into this category, including foams from other enthusiast brands that sell higher end products like proper coatings.
      The way I see it, they want a product that gives people a sense of purpose, without risks of high detergent content possibly doing damage, and of course “fitting in” with the trends in detailing. If you combine polar blast with a APC/TFR pre-spray you can get auto foam levels of performance, but that is more investment, time, and coordination each time you need to foam.
      If you have very clean cars and you want to pull off light soiling or dust, it works great. Just don’t expect it to have more cleaning power than a pressure rinse on its own.

    Pretty stupid to use the BH at a mix ratio recommended for the AG Polar Blast! The manufacturers recommend how to use their products, so follow their instructions. The most important point is to have the correct percentage mix ratio arriving on the panel (Panel Impact Ratio/PIR), not in the bottle! Every foam gun and pressure washer produces a different performance, so you must work out the PIR. You recommend in you video to "Do your research", so do it and produce a better and more accurate information video.
