Great video Graeme, surfex is such a good all rounder and I'm sure in these tough times we're going through more people will turn to it because of how cheap it is. Fantastic results at the end. Keep up the good work sir 👍🏻
Surfex is a monster of a product! Great video 👍🏻 Using the adjustment dial to mix neat product is a really interesting style of using the lance - I was thinking about the other week because it doesn’t really make sense to dilute the product twice, so if you know your PIR at various dial positions then you could always use neat product and just adjust the dial accordingly. For enthusiasts it’s surely easier cos you can just put the unused product back in the bottle. I would think it would be easier for pro’s as well cos once you’ve filled the bottle you can just alter the dilution as the job demands!
Thanks mate, a change from the norm and a bit of fun at the same time Snow foam lances always intrigued me as to why the top dial had such a huge adjustment so without the hassle of working out 4% pir I thought I’d just try it neat and use the dial.
Nice job, these gun metal colours are great. I use surfex 1:10 on the exterior, thinking I'm going to dilute a little out, seeing the result you got. I also use surfex at 1:100 in the interior, the car interior isn't ever really that dirty so 1:100 is perfect. Full decon and Fusso Coat for my car tomorrow. All the best Graeme.
@@GMDetails I don't have leather seats but I have no problems using it at that dilution on the leather steering wheel and gear stick/gator. I also spritz the upholstery, just a 1/2 light sprays, and rub with a microfibre.

Nice one Henry!, I’ve heard using Auto Wheel every wash is a bit harsh and can lead to corroding the brake components due to the TGA salts , I used Surfex at 19-1 dilution on the transit video and that was enough for a regular cleansing, are you sure you need AW on every wash?
@@GMDetails yeah, I tend to just mist it in the crevices of when wheels more than anything, rather than douce it over the wheels like you see in some videos, just to keep on top of the fallout
Great demonstration using Bilt Hamber products (I lean something new every time from this channel!) Personally I like to set the PIR so I know where i am with Auto Foam. Moving forward I’m thinking of applying it using a spay bottle to help reduce the amount of chemical used. Also The more I clean cars I think I’m moving into the camp of applying a citrus product to a dry car letting that dwell then commence the 1st rinse off. While the car drys off a bit clean the wheels (which has been made easier) then carry out a snow foam application. While that is dwelling carry out the brush work around badges etc. The reason I’m moving into this camp on applying a chemical before water is because wheels visually clean off better by applying a chemical first before rinsing them off with water than just a water rinse application which is why I’m carrying this thought process over to the bodywork cleaning process.
Thanks Greg!, totally understand your thinking here , Jon @Forensic Detailing done this very test and was quite interesting I just can’t get out of the routine of having a rinse down first to remove all the loose debris, maybe I ll do some of my own research into this and see what results I get 🤔 Watch this space 📺
@@GMDetails Don’t change your normal approach, as your 1st rinse is always very methodical and perhaps it’s my approach using just water that needs to improve which makes this area of cleaning a topic of discussion. Happy Halloween Ben 👻 Autowash I just don’t find enjoyable at all , it’s expensive , has the least amount of suds & I don’t find it particularly slick, plus no scent just ruins the overall enjoyment of what is the hard part of the car clean 😆
Great and fun content well done, you keep coming up with new ideas, great stuff - must try the neat snow foam idea, will be interesting to see how much product my lance uses (and hopefully improve the foam consistency / fun of use 🙂). Regarding BH shampoo i used to share your view so i moved to GT shampoo, recently i have tried using up my BH auto wash and just doubled the amount used so I now use about 10ml into 10 to 12L warm water, honestly at this ratio its super slick with great cleaning ability with nice suds. To my mind that's reasonably cost efficient (i use about 18ml of GT shampoo to get the same effect), thought this might be useful for anyone who is considering some. Best wishes.
Yes the recommended 5ml experience is rather bland to use but double this and its similar to GT for me. Out of interest do you have any idea how much product you went through with the auto foam using it neat? Mind you i'm learning that different snow foam lances can use a lot more or less product. Cheers.
Ah yes some lances can use more product , I’ve actually compared all my 10 lances and noted which ones draw the quickest cause geekiness 🤣 Honestly using the Autofoam in the MJJC I maybe used 150-200ml MAX , I really wish I’d measured it now but it was quite a rush job and I was lucky I was able to squeeze in filming as I wanted it to be a video so much. What foam lance do you use Tim?
@@GMDetails Its a cheap generic one from clean and shinny, i'm looking to get another when the black Friday sales get going. I have nothing bad to say about mine mainly because i seem to be able to clean two vehicles with the lovely GT snow foam V1 60 -80ml + about 450ml water). It was one of the first things i purchased when getting into this hobby so it's time to try out a more up market option. Possibilities include the MJJC V2, MTM PF22.2 & Stjarnagloss lance. I get good foam with GT but both BH foams are rather runny so i prefer those with an IK sprayer. What are your favourites Graeme?
Erm… 😬 I have collected 10 in the time the channel has been going 🤣 Favourites are the (cheapest to dearest) Monstershine lance (PA) Autobrite Direct (PA) MTM PF22
Never occured to me i could use the product neat and go lean on the dial🙈 instead i do what everyone does - predillute and then go full rich on the dial. Seems dumb now i think about it 😅
I just poured neat Autofoam in mate , didn’t measure it as I was using the top dilution dial to judge the dilution and poured the remainder back into the Autofoam drum when I was finished
It doesn’t matter how much neat product you put in it , you can fill it if you like but you’ll never use it all 🤣 Honestly anything like 300ml - 500ml and you’ll be cushty 😎
Not sure if you will pick this up at this late stage but after watching countless video of folk calculating thd PIR for BH Autofoam or Touch-Less a fairly reasonable measure is 100ml of product diluted to 1 litre is 1%..... So if using it on a very dirty vehicle and Autofoam calls for 4% mix 400ml up to 1 litre .... Touch-Less is a bit more economical as its max PIR is 2% so 200ml to 1 litre ..... If you want to do the actual calculations it might be 432ml and 216ml but one is i doubt those will make much difference and two just how accurate are the measurements you're taking.... That 1 litre snow foam cannon might hold 990mls or it might hold 1050mls if messured with a calibrated measuring system .... Same with the 15 litre bucket you empty it into.... You might messure 11.5 litres but it could be anything from 11 to 12 litres .....

Nice turn around mate, surfex does look good, I'll have to try some at some point. I like autowash, what's your issue with it? It's autofoam I don't like on account of it needed a 1:1 mix to reach that pir 🤯
Happy Halloween 🎃
Happy Halloween Ben 👻
Autowash I just don’t find enjoyable at all , it’s expensive , has the least amount of suds & I don’t find it particularly slick, plus no scent just ruins the overall enjoyment of what is the hard part of the car clean 😆
Ah yes it’s usually 5ml per bucket with BH shampoo isn’t it?, thanks for the tip of using 10ml, I might go back to it one day 😎
Yes the recommended 5ml experience is rather bland to use but double this and its similar to GT for me. Out of interest do you have any idea how much product you went through with the auto foam using it neat? Mind you i'm learning that different snow foam lances can use a lot more or less product. Cheers.
Ah yes some lances can use more product , I’ve actually compared all my 10 lances and noted which ones draw the quickest cause geekiness 🤣
Honestly using the Autofoam in the MJJC I maybe used 150-200ml MAX , I really wish I’d measured it now but it was quite a rush job and I was lucky I was able to squeeze in filming as I wanted it to be a video so much.
Erm… 😬 I have collected 10 in the time the channel has been going 🤣
Favourites are the (cheapest to dearest)
Monstershine lance (PA)
Autobrite Direct (PA)
MTM PF22
Never occured to me i could use the product neat and go lean on the dial🙈 instead i do what everyone does - predillute and then go full rich on the dial. Seems dumb now i think about it 😅
Work smart not harder 🤣🤣
lovely
Thanks mate 👍
Graeme how much product did you put in the foam canon. Great video mate.
I just poured neat Autofoam in mate , didn’t measure it as I was using the top dilution dial to judge the dilution and poured the remainder back into the Autofoam drum when I was finished
@@GMDetails Sorry Graeme what I meant was how much neat product is in the cannon.
It doesn’t matter how much neat product you put in it , you can fill it if you like but you’ll never use it all 🤣
Honestly anything like 300ml - 500ml and you’ll be cushty 😎
@@GMDetails Thanks Graeme
Hi thanks for the comment , RUclips notifies me of all comments unless there’s a sweary word in there somewhere 😂
Yeah I get what you’re saying and since the social network idiots making content of bottle cap spinners and revolving lances took over I’m completely drained of it all, close enough to what you’re saying is good enough for me too, just gets the job done 👌
What shampoo did you use mate?
I used Blitz Detailing Jellybean shampoo in this video , the 1L bottle of it is only £3 more then the 500ml if you want to try some here’s the link to the store blitzdetailing.myshopify.com/products/blitz-detailing-supreme-shampoo-jelly-bean-500ml
@@GMDetails 👍🏼
you really dont have to go above 10% with Surfex
Hi David, it’s 19-1 dilution I used. Less than 5% mate 👍
