I just found out that the kefir is causing an over abundance of Histamine. I love the kefir, but overwhelmed by the rashes and hives 😣. Any suggestions?

I have heard people making the comment that just keep pushing through it that once you're microbiams are better the histamine will be less

I think taking l- reuteri and gastrus bacterias can help with this. I am making the yogurt with these in it.

Slow and steady, you can reduce the amount until histamine reaction is better. I used to get a clogged nose if I went past 1.5 cups a day. So I reduced to one cup and slowly increase. Within a month I’m to 2 or 2.5 cups w no issues. Kefir is very strong. Any new ferment you should try low and slow or can cause histamine reaction. Look into gaps diet, I’ve learned a lot ❤

I've been very ill for a few years now . I eat so healthy but I just react to so many things
I've put it down to way to many sukphur foods eggs and white fish and sulphur veg and being a poor sulphur metaboliser which can lead to sibo
I massively lowered the sulphur foods and now eating loads of foods with molybdenum which help process sulphur properly and am taking sbo probiotics to flood good bacterias and re balance everything
Iam so scared to try kefir and sauerkraut they would make me I'll but iam hoping very soon I can try them and be ok and eat them all the time I beleive like you say they are key to health fermented foods
    Any advice would be great
The food you show and talk abount looks so nice

I drink a kefir smoothie every day, sometimes twice a day (because I have 2 kids under 3 so cooking is hard. If I still eat things like rice and homemade sweets along with fruits and veggies, will my gut be able to heal?

Will the bacteria remain inside you as lomg as they have food? Or do you need to continually eat say kifer for example so you always have them .

    • @auntyp2980

      good question

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  2 года назад +6

It depends, some of the fermented foods, for instance kefir has some strains that stay indefinitely but other bacteria like the ones in cultured vegetables, L Plantarum are transient bacteria which only last a few days.

@@CulturedFoodLife wouldnt it be best to drink some kifer before refrigerating it as the live bacteria would be slowed down vs active if taken only refrigerated?

I am curious. Do you get sick or does this great gut health protect you by enhancing your immune system?

And with SIBO they tell us to avoid apples, fiber, only a few nuts at a time. We are between a rock and hard place because i want to build my microbiome but with SIBO we are told to eat low fod map eliminating a lot of good foods

I cut out sugar, processed grains, processed foods, seed oils
added kimchi, kefir, homemade yogurt, Natto.
    already feel so much better.
spicy food was wrecking my gut and now it seems to be healed within 2 weeks of eating like this.
before this I could guarantee problems every time.
I also feel so much better already too.
eating lots of healthy fiber with foods like sweet potatoes

    I'm 66.
Oh how i wish i had heard and been more aware of how important your microbiome is. Wasn't till i got Sibo that I've been learning all about this.
