Loved the video on someone who really drives their Range Rover properly!
I have had the same weird issue turning on uneven ground in 2 of my 3 Sport's. In my 2014 V8 AB a new diff cured it. In my 2020 V8 AB, they've refused to take it that far to cure it. My SVR didn't have the same issue. I'm told by a tech that he thinks its either the diff or a clutch in the transfer case slipping.
Try changing/flushing the transfer case fluid usually that helps without having to replace the transfer case, ours started doing it and took it into my deal that’s what they suggested and it was fixed, I also think there was a TSB for this issue a while back, but some full sizes and sports still have it.
We have 6 Rovers, 3 RR, 2 RRS & 1 LR3 and absolutely love everyone of them, but only 1 has had that weird grinding noise when turning, we ended up changing/flushing the transfer case fluid and have not had any issues, so that’s what I would try to solve that issue.
A guy that talks sense that what I like, these get crapped on by people but they are such great vehicles to drive. Like you said if you go off roaring expect things to go wrong, most work horse vehicles go wrong
Well, as long as he’s happy with it. It’s not something I would want and I’d be pretty pissed to pay that much money and then have so many problems. But it’s not my money. Best advice he had was to maintain a warranty. Smart move.
They all think it makes 600hp and it pushes you back into the seat until a tuned subaru gaps the living crap out of them then they start asking questions 🤣
"What problems, what's broken, what nightmares I've had with her? Honestly not a ton" - 2x starter motors have already been replaced (he's on his 3rd starter motor now) - Front end/sway bars bushings keeps wearing out every 12k miles - Squeaking noise when turning left that is unfixable. 10K USD worth of suspension parts were used to treat the problem yet the issue remains - Issues with fuel system - Brake system leak/vacuum leak - Windshield has been replaced 3x times. Current windshield already has a big crack His Range Rover is a 2020 model year. His excuse: "i dRiVe It HaRdd DuUuRr!" A purpose built off-roader is supposed to handle driven hard off-road. That's the whole point of an off-roader. And then the audacity to compare his RR to a Land Cruiser. This is why people make fun of Land Rover online because the reality is they are not built to last. My parent's 80-series LC is 30 years old now and with over 500,000 KM. You wanna know what broke on it? Nothing. And it's used daily on my family's farm.
Its a gamble, but I'm lean towards the EW side. I got one on my computer, and it broke a month after the manufacture's warranty expired. Dell replaced it with a brand new one that was year newer. Of course, a warranty is only as good as the manufacture or second-party provides.
Starter is made by Denso; same manufacturer that makes starters for many other vehicles, including Toyota and Honda. Just searching online, looks like the starter is $400 USD. He's Canadian, so he paid about $530 in labor. It's also an easy DIY job, unlike a 200 series Land Cruiser.
If you drove your vehicle fording a stream or any body of water in which the water depth was in excess of Land Rover’s recommended maximum depth and the starting motor malfunctioned then I understand why you would pay for a new starter. However, if the water depth was within the fording depths approved by Land Rover then the starting motor should not fail.
Ummm, are sway bar bushings something different in Britain? That's like a 20 minute job including raising the lift and grabbing the 10mm and rachet. $20 in parts?
Imagine trying to compare a boring ass land cruiser with barely 300 HP to a 600 HP luxury SUV. Let's throw 600 hp at that stock LC engine and see how long that long block lasts 😂
I've always liked Land Rover, more power to those who can afford a luxury vehicle like this. About the only thing I can think of when it comes to the noise you described is a cab/body mount but isn't yours a unibody instead of body on frame?
@@HEKTO3 ah!! I’m not sure. I only asked about the time where they threw parts at it and it ended up being almost 10k covered. But ya no clue about the other times

There has to be a Last Man Standing match between LC 300 and Range Rover Sport as in Africa we say: Take a Land Cruiser to Africa, you will come back, and take a Range Rover to Africa you will not come back" Anyway, who buys a Range Rover for Off'- Road?
@@DrivenHard It's normal for starters to go out but 3 in less than 100k? That's only unique to JLR and so I hold it against the manufacturer. The windshield too. But I'm waiting for your 300k update. For a car of that age and mileage thats a shxt load of warranty work on the car shocking in my opinion.
You need to see how its driven to understand why I wear things out so fast.
A guy that talks sense that what I like, these get crapped on by people but they are such great vehicles to drive. Like you said if you go off roaring expect things to go wrong, most work horse vehicles go wrong
Best review of a range rover I've seen lol
Solid review bru.
Love the color and the wheels.
Thanks. In the process of getting them refinished. They haven't been treated very well
that interior is NICE!
All winding roads are fun as long as there is no one in front of you driving below speed limit
Well, at least someone takes it off-roading. BTW, he looks and sounds like former Mr Olympia Phil Heath.
Well, as long as he’s happy with it. It’s not something I would want and I’d be pretty pissed to pay that much money and then have so many problems. But it’s not my money. Best advice he had was to maintain a warranty. Smart move.
I remember this a while ago. Cool to see him back on
It's not broken, it's British!
$1200. for a starter, I'm out!
They all think it makes 600hp and it pushes you back into the seat until a tuned subaru gaps the living crap out of them then they start asking questions 🤣
then again until you sit in a Tesla 😂
The only times I ever see a Subaru is in the rear view mirror of my 600hp beast.
this is awesome!!! nice to see it being used properly!
"What problems, what's broken, what nightmares I've had with her? Honestly not a ton"
- 2x starter motors have already been replaced (he's on his 3rd starter motor now)
- Front end/sway bars bushings keeps wearing out every 12k miles
- Squeaking noise when turning left that is unfixable. 10K USD worth of suspension parts were used to treat the problem yet the issue remains
- Issues with fuel system
- Brake system leak/vacuum leak
- Windshield has been replaced 3x times. Current windshield already has a big crack
His Range Rover is a 2020 model year.
His excuse: "i dRiVe It HaRdd DuUuRr!"
A purpose built off-roader is supposed to handle driven hard off-road.
Comparing a 30 year old car to a new one 🤦🏾♂️
30 yrs old Washing Machine at a Commercial Laundry with 500k normal cycle wash must be the best thing ever
Well at least it not a video of "my long term review of car that I only drove 1k miles in".
Tommy is never going to recover from this
Don’t think a 4Runner needs an extended warranty. I didn’t get one for mine.
Its a gamble, but I'm lean towards the EW side. I got one on my computer, and it broke a month after the manufacture's warranty expired. Dell replaced it with a brand new one that was year newer.
Of course, a warranty is only as good as the manufacture or second-party provides.
My friend has a 2019 Soport HST. He loves it but scared to mile it up lol. Hasn’t even hit 30k yet
Great review, appreciate the tips and your excitement for your vehicle. Ignoring the hate!
I love my 2012 RRS LUX she is a dream . Haters just cant afford it
Showing LOVE for my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHANNEL PERIOD Thank You and have a Blessed day y'all
That starter motor sounds like it shocks have a snorkel or something. They’re meant to go through water?!?
$1,200 for a starter
That was from Factory. They go for about $600 - $700 when you don't buy from the dealership
I should have mentioned that
Starter is made by Denso; same manufacturer that makes starters for many other vehicles, including Toyota and Honda. Just searching online, looks like the starter is $400 USD. He's Canadian, so he paid about $530 in labor. It's also an easy DIY job, unlike a 200 series Land Cruiser.
@@rl9810 that’s awesome info. Thanks for that
@@rl9810 its easy DIY because youll need one changed often.
This car is a beast "on the road"
Excellent video! Did I miss it, what is the extended warranty info?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, what colour is your Range? I’m considering doing a matte red wrap on mine so am curious?
Ummm, are sway bar bushings something different in Britain? That's like a 20 minute job including raising the lift and grabbing the 10mm and rachet. $20 in parts?
Cool rig, nice color.
Thanks
This guy rules
Hahahaja thanks Ben
So the wading depth specification assumes you never need to start it again?
Hahahaha max wading depth is 900mm. I’ve gone about 1300mm
13:50 compared the reliability of this to the Toyota Land Cruiser. Cute 😆
no, I didn't. Watch it again.
@@DrivenHard tell me if I’m wrong, but you’re saying you’d drive the heck out of a Land Cruiser and it would also be in the shop.
@@atmartens ya. I tend to break what I get my hands on. It (land cruiser) would be in the shop less often but it ain’t bullet proof 😂
@@DrivenHard makes sense lol. At least you acknowledge that.
Imagine trying to compare a boring ass land cruiser with barely 300 HP to a 600 HP luxury SUV. Let's throw 600 hp at that stock LC engine and see how long that long block lasts 😂
My LR2 and LR4 have been eating em alice. Just the Alternator for LR2, $2,500!
I've always liked Land Rover, more power to those who can afford a luxury vehicle like this. About the only thing I can think of when it comes to the noise you described is a cab/body mount but isn't yours a unibody instead of body on frame?
What brand of tires do you have on there?
Hey man, did you upgrade your fuel pump for the tune?
good review video
I was always told “rovers and raptors: best Offroad vehicles, but won’t see dirt til their third owner”
Not true at all
Curious what was overall cost of all repairs on this vehicle?
Zero except for the starter which I broke by going deeper then the max wading depth.
@@DrivenHard i know warranty covered almost all repairs, but what was the total cost ? Even that warranty paid
@@HEKTO3 ah!! I’m not sure. I only asked about the time where they threw parts at it and it ended up being almost 10k covered. But ya no clue about the other times
Windshield-------Chassis flex
Awesome review. Spoton! Totally with you on the last part, if you want someting more simple with less issues (maybe), buy a Toyota or Lexus. Totally agree. I want what i want & like what i like. I'm going to be spending my money on things that put smile in my face:
Fun cars. Hot chicks. Sports. Video games & Relaxation!
Well said 👍
It certainly confirmed my decision to buy a Toyota.
looks awesome....
Jeez he beefed up
Tacos, tacos, tacos
@@DrivenHard that ain’t tacos. He got 🔥🔥
There has to be a Last Man Standing match between LC 300 and Range Rover Sport as in Africa we say: Take a Land Cruiser to Africa, you will come back, and take a Range Rover to Africa you will not come back"
Anyway, who buys a Range Rover for Off'- Road?
Confidently comparing that with a Land Cruiser? No way in all aspects! Not amazing at all.
First in thought its Pimp my Ride show
Lol 😂
3rd starter motor and he says "not a ton"
Correct. Each time I drove it beyond the limits it was suppose to. Can’t hold that against the manufacturer
@@DrivenHard It's normal for starters to go out but 3 in less than 100k? That's only unique to JLR and so I hold it against the manufacturer. The windshield too. But I'm waiting for your 300k update. This is only the beginning. I want to see how much will break in the longer term. Actually I will subscribe to see that
@@brianm5753 Wait, what? You're actually waiting for what you think will be his Land Rover's inevitable demise? How very odd.
@@anthonyc1883 I see lots of Land Cruiser owners talking about having 300k on the odo without problems. It would be cool to see this on a Range
@@brianm5753 but you need to understand I drove it beyond what they are specified too. Like have having a sports car and doing burn outs too much and wearing out the tires in a day. Don’t go deep then 900mm and I did and the part failed cause of it.
1200 $$$ for a starter?
I wonder if Canada has higher prices? The exchange rate is a bit different so it should be less than $1200 CAD.
@@travisp11 $940 U.S.
@@anthonyc1883 Ok. That is still pretty pricey and about 3X more than I spent on starters for most of my other cars.
So you pretty much confirmed to everyone that land Rover is a POS
Bad cars like this exist bc people are irrational.
Car market would be boring without some cars like this.
Nice to be able to beat the crap out of a New Land Rover you're buying at MSRP ++ up grade / mod's nah... no hatters here.😁
☝️This guy is the reason why you never buy a used Land Rover.
As for used ones nah.. no brainer, those are always sold to posers. 😉
Good suv 💪💪💪💪💪
sell it, now.
for too that much still too much maintenance required
All this is great and what not, save for one fact: Every Land Rover vehicle is a he, not a she :)
Ill keep my 07 4runner sport edition with everything original except brakes what a piece of garbage, when warranty is up lets see how happy he is..and ive 240k miles not km
Seems like the driver is a positive, enthusiastic, energetic guy who loves to have a great time with his vehicle, and not smugly and negatively snipe with major 'tude at other people....like you do.
Cool story, and your 4 runner doesn't have 600hp, luxury ride, heated and cooled seats, nor does it look nice.
@@ryanturnerboles My Lamborghini does though..your point?
Some guys like high maintenance cars and women. I'm not into either of them.
Hard to believe...man...seriously...all FOC?😳😳 Could have shown service docs as proof🤷♂️ 100k kms is easy for any SUV but not for RR cos they know guyz who buy it can afford to spend on it🤷♂️
I’ve done multiple videos on my service appointments on my own channel. You can check those out if you wish
@@DrivenHard great👍
I hope no one with a toyota saves this guy if he did some real offroading with them street tires. Stick to the mall and starbucks.
You like spending money🤑
Too slow, but he's not a professional so I grinned through it.
