I like the new Land Cruiser. The color and the feature content are excellent. If I could find one, I would buy one tomorrow. The problem is the price at $74,000. Thanks, Tyler.
@@jdrein9511 for $66k, you don’t get the Premium Pkg. The Premium Pkg adds a number of options. Sunroof, full leather, heads up display, center console ice box, safety radars, JBL 17 spkr stereo, and a number of other luxury items.
This is a disappointment. Pricing a Land Cruiser at $70,000 or $80,000 is far too high-it shouldn’t cost more than $60,000, period. I don’t care about the retro design. The idea of targeting the luxury market with this model is ridiculous. I wouldn’t buy a Land Cruiser if I were looking for luxury.
Excellent video. I have the First Edition and love it. Agree with all your findings and conclusions. If I could change anything I would want the V6 and larger fuel tank.
Went down to Royal to take a look at the Crown Signia, super friendly staff and not pushy at all. I'm 40 years old and it was the first time I've ever mentioned a RUclipsr as a reference as to how I found out about them. Waiting for the next gen 4Runner to make a decision but definitely better experience than what I've had here in Indy even when I show up in my FJ Cruiser. Keep up the great work, Hoosier!
Yeah, no. I can see why Akio Toyoda left. He was right about the future of the company. Listen to that tiny 4 banger over rev. Ticking lifters . It sounds like a sewing machine. Don't like seeing the last best manufacturer go down like this.
I Agree. Why should all Toyotas be affordable? If this is better in many ways than for example Defender, why shouldn’t it compete in the same price league. By the way, in Europe in many countries the price is double of yours. living here I bought one yesterday and yes the price hurt. The engine is 2.8 diesel (no hybrid) which I think suits well to heavy truck like LC.
I’ve driven the land cruiser parade with the diesel engine and my god what a huge difference in torque and power. The hybrid is good but it is to complex. For me the prado wins by simplicity and true soul of the landcruiser
Was hoping you'd talk more about the interior e.g physical buttons.. Or lack of... As other brands are putting all condos on the NAV screens.. Which brand you can't change the cooling AC temp or fax speed while driving... Bummer
@ Thanks! That’s great! We did test drive one and he thought it was good, then we read specs and wondered? When you mentioned your height, just thought I’d ask. We have ours on order now and are excited!
The issue I have is that he uses premium fuel now the last Land Cruiser was giving you 14 MPG and this one gives you 18 but premium fuel so in reality is the same but now you carry a big battery in the back and sacrifice a third row seat. ?????
I agree it's got a small gas tank, but I still avg 20mpg at 80mph hwy stock which isn't terrible considering.. Also I've taken apart the storage compartment in front of the hybrid battery and there is totally enough leg room for an aftermarket third row with a thin cushion over the battery. Your only limitation is that you wouldn't be able to fold it and stow it. And I would assume you could retrofit the stock seatbelts.
Function: 'we also have' .. a much smaller fuel tank compared to the 150 LC Prado it replaces here in Australia. So it's a significant capability down grade for Australian conditions. And the 150's fuel tank, at 150 litres, was a downgrade from the 180 litres of the 120 Prado. Range is a key metric of 'premium' for an off roader. Not a space limited center console 'cool box' - if you want to keep things cool, put them in the fridge in the rear. I presume one can fit a fridge slide and Engle fridge over the battery storage? I noted you didn't mention that. This is an off-roader so we need to know these important things. Never mind 'swagger' how many swags can you load on roof? That is - what is the load limit of the roof? Edit - gee those tyres look pretty low profile for an off-roader! You forgot to mention the aspect ratio.
A well-equipped Premium Package Land Cruiser is more desirable than the Lexus GX by far. Better looking, quicker engine, and much better resale value and demand.
The vehicle comes with a smaller alternative hitch cover that doesn't cover the actual hitch and looks much better. Should be mentioned in critiques but is not.
Just so you know, this is actually a Toyota Prado which is now marketed as a Land Cruiser for the U.S market. The "real" Land Cruiser (LC300) is available in many markets around the world excluding the U.S. The Toyota Prado is more of a baby Land Cruiser.
A lot of people in the U.S seem to think that this is the new Land Cruiser replacing the LC200, hence why I mentioned the LC300 in my original comment. 😊
@@mountainhoboyes, but he also said he missed the V8…don’t think the Prado ever had a V8. He selectively compared it to the 200, as if they were related beyond the badge.

If you're willing to give up the 20" wheels and roof rack, you can get one for about 66k.
@@jdrein9511 They really have 20" wheels?? Pay $70k to get the ride of a 1970 F150?

Nice work on the rear view mirror shot ...Always enjoy your productions 😊
I was thinking the same thing - very original and unseen until now…😃
Thanks! That one came from a curiosity if it would work, glad you enjoyed it.
A Land Cruiser is quite expensive. A Land Cruiser is quirky. A Land Cruiser is not overly common......I'll take one.
Another excellent video, Tyler.
Thanks for watching again!
just wanna say I really enjoy the cinematography style of your videos
Thanks for offering some unique info! I didn't realize there was a thigh extender. Does it only come with the Premium package or other trims too?
Just the premium pkg for 2025!
@Realistick Thanks man

Which one would you own Tyler? This LC or an OT GX?
The GX is a little better in several ways, but I think I just prefer the style of the Land Cruiser so much that I'd go Toyota.

I brought it up a little but we’ll talk more about that in the GX vs Land Cruiser video soon!
Great video 👍🏾
Thank you!
My husband is 6’5 how’s the leg room? We are comparing with other SUV’s and the stats on leg room are way shorter.

@ 2:30 Can one glow white and the other side amber?
It would be nice if you could store footage from the rearview mirror cam.
It's either white or amber, and the headlights have to be on
@@heavilypetedThanks!
Why would they slap a tiny i4 on a heavy truck? I dont get it. They could’ve atleast used the ttv6
Most of the available GX 550’s are $80K plus, not $65k.
Indiana represent 🖤
Right on point!
It's 80s styling, not 90s. Google a 1987 landcruiser wagon.

I'm at 20.5 avg mpg in mine, doing lots of stop and go.
I am averaging 23.5 mpg.
17.5 gallon gas tank. You’re hitting the gas station just as often

For $75k you also get less ground clearance than a Subaru.
Was that a banana in quicksand? Super Double Danger!!!!
First-time viewer…great review! For me, I still think a base GX Premium is a better value for what I’m looking for. Thanks!
Which one you choose? Toyota Land Cruiser or Lexus GX 550?
That video is coming soon🤓
Great video! How tall are you and how did you fit?
6’3 and with ease up front. Not much support in the rear but still good for long drives!
Cool box is a waste of space. Looks like it can take may be 2 cans. I would rather have space for other knick knacks.
Independent suspension? This is an off road car! If it had independent suspension, the off road performance would have been limited!
Are they easy for a senior citizen with disabilities to get into and out of?
If they are tall, yes. It might work for others but I’d really suggest a crossover if ease of entry/exit are most important to you.
Almost everything that makes life worth living falls into the "irrational and cool" category.
