Im in 60's and editing is so fun. My son was so surprised I learned so much about editing. It keeps my mind busy at this time of my life I needed it. I didnt grow up with cell phones and computers. I still have alot to learn.
Such a thoughtful and wise video, Tina! Really spoke to me as to why I love creating content - at nearly 70! Thank you so much - it serves as a useful reflection on what we can do, at any age, and why we should!
I loved when you said you never thought of yourself as a creative person and then went on to describe all these amazing and creative things you've done in your life! 😅It's so true though. Sometimes we have a very narrow definition of creativity that can limit what we think we can do. Thanks for a great video! It really got me thinking about the reasons I want to keep working at my youtube channel.
I'm so glad! It is amazing how we limit ourselves with our thoughts and self-talk. Why do we do that???? I'm glad my video got you thinking and hope you find the why that fires you up and makes you want to keep going!
Growing on YT definitely requires a lot of personal growth too! I love editing and learning different ways to make visuals more captivating. You're right, I have often thought that this is one way we can keep our brain cells working as we age! 😀
Tina, you are so encouraged and thoughtful. I’m glad that you have started a RUclips channel and surpassed the 3 criteria to reach to become monetised. I’m also glad I can’t across your channel. ❤
We started our channel in 2024 just to spend more time together and do something fun. So far it's been a fun experience with minor trolling headaches that have come from it.
I agree with all those reasons!!! The creativity part is so interesting. On my channel I plan workouts for people over age 50; planning and designing the routines is a creative process. Then there is designing thumbnails, writing titles, etc. Hi to all the other over 50 creators out there 👋 Thanks Tina!
@fitnessoverfifty-suncoastfit yes! I forgot the graphic design element. I am planning to add a workout routine to my week. I have noticed I'm losing muscle and flexibility. And the time to reverse that is now!
@@TinaHBeautifulJourney so true, there is no better time than now! We naturally lose muscle as we age so it's important to keep active to maintain and build muscle. Let me know if you try one of my workouts ☺
Bless you Tina, dear heart, not realizing what a creative powerhouse you have always been, and taking on challenges few can boast of! I knew you were a dynamo the first minute I watched you. Gen Jones here & I've thought of starting a channel for years, since I feel like my makeup experience is not really represented much on YT so maybe I have something to offer; but I hate being on camera, and I worry about my ability to decipher whether I'm putting out something good/useful or not.
@agingophelia9812 thank you, sweet Meri. I would watch your channel! One thing that really helped me was when the gurus would day, your first videos are going ro be bad. And it's ok because not very many people are going to see them anyway. Lol. As you do it, you get better, and your audience grows. So it's a process. Start messy is oft-given advice.
I agree it is so important that we show up as women of this age and REPRESENT! I’ve been watching your videos for about a month now - the ones related to growing a RUclips channel (may dip into beauty but not really my thing). Even though you are a smaller channel, I am learning tho ha I’m not hearing on the bigger channels and I appreciate it!
Haha Grasshopper of panning. I love it. I also love that Shelby is being a conscious consumer with her spatula to use all of her products. Good job, Grandma!
Gen Xers and Boomers have a wealth of knowledge to share but it can be intimating at first. We knew nothing about filming and editing videos when we started. We've learned SO much and it's actually been such a fun journey! Sometimes we impress our young adult kids with our tech skills🤣
I just try to remember that I didn't knownwhat a spreadsheet was when I walked into my first job. And I learned to create formulas and macros that did some pretty amazing things in my finance job. We also learned to use computers when there was just a c:/ prompt and a black screen. Lol.
Good Morning Tina ☕ I'm in the process of getting back into the beauty influencer thing and I'm just struggling hard with the technology part. I'm over 50. Any advice? I've got my channel partially up.
@judiwhiteaker5893 I can't edit on my phone. I know a lot of people do. I've used capcut on my laptop and it works pretty well. It's free. A good place to start. I'm using Filmora now. Or at least I'm trying to transition to it from what I was using. Learning a new software is so slow. But also good news is that people aren't wanting highly edited, flashy videos anymore. They want more real, authentic content.
@judiwhiteaker5893 oh, whatever you choose, search xxx for beginners and watch a couple videos. Then just get in there and push some buttons and see what happens.

Tina do you have a link to buy your diapers? They look adorable!
I'm not making them currently. I still have all my fabrics and supplies, but just don't have the time to devote to the sewing part.
