An interesting fact. I was born and raised in Louisiana and whenever I travel to NOLA, I have noticed that there seems to be only one baker that makes the poor boy bread. I cannot remember the name now but I remember the name on the delivery trucks as appearing to be a Germanic type name.

Hey Greg...You're probably thinking of Leidenheimer Bakery. They made bread for most po'boy shops in the city. The bread is not like an authentic French baguette and more like a fine-crumbed Viennese bread. They made muffuletta loaves for Central Grocery as well. Nice memories of NOLA.

    Guys: taste a po boy
Also guys: make a beef dip instead.
Having lived in New Orleans for 4 years... nothing they made would remind me of a true po boy in any way. Still looks to be a delicious sandwich tho!

That looks more like a oyster muffuletta. I’m not from New Orleans but I think it’s an insult to call that a po’boy 😂
