"S'hymnu sardu nationale" - Anthem of the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont

The Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont is a small state in the Italian Peninsula, during the second independence war, the president of the French Parliament, Louis Napoleon, made a pact with Camilo Benso, the Prime minister of Sardinia-Piedmont, in which France would help the nation win a war against Austria, however a few weeks after the conflict started Henry V the King of France, the Austrian Emperor and the King of Piedmont signed the treaty of Savoy, in which the Italian state would gain the lands between Savoy and Nice, renounce the Risorgimento movement, and get closer ties towards the French, the latter, in later years would make the kingdom in all but name a French puppet state, which wouldn't be contested because all of the other major powers were either dealing with their own problems or simply didn't care about the balance of power.
Today the kingdom is in a quite peculiar place, the king himself, Vittorio Emanuele III, is always absent from the parliament, making his son, prince Umberto II has become in all but name the regent of the nation, known as the "Liberal Prince" he goes strongly against the conservative and oligarchic parliament, one which is very friendly towards the Black Shirts, a fascist organization, with even some of them being part pf the parliament.

just a remind that the Kingdom was of Sardinia only, piedmont was a principality under the duchies of Savoy
Piedmont-Sardinia was the popular name
but all institutions were referred to Sardinia:
His Sardinian Royal highness
Sardinian Royal Army
Sardinian Royal Navy
still, documents were written in Italian, diplomacy was in French (well, that was that time English) and the king spoke Piedmontese (and not just to "father his nation" with common women...)

The official capital was Turin thought, Cagliari was just ruled under a Viceroy.
