Rainbow is one of my all time favorite groups. They are considered a super group based on the talent they had. Recently you did a reaction video of "Child in Time" from Deep Purple. The guitarist is Ritchie Backmore and he left Deep Purple a few years later and formed the band Rainbow. A band called Elf opened for Deep Purple during their tours. Ritchie really liked the singer's voice, his name was Ronnie James Dio. This is the break Ronnie needed to advance his singing carrier. Ronnie and the band members from Elf (except the guitarist) joined Blackmore to make their first album. Then came the addition of Cozy Powell on drums for the second album. He was considered one of the best and had worked with other known bands. The bass and keyboardist changed for each album. Three great albums were made under the Dio era with "Stargazer" being their best song (in my opinion). There are a bunch of other videos from this magical 1977 Munich concert you should check out, starting with "Catch the Rainbow", then "Man on the Silver Mountain", "Long Live Rock n Roll", "16th Century Greensleeves", "Still I'm Sad", "Kill the King", and "Do You Close Your Eyes". Rainbow didn't get much airplay in the Dio years, only "Man on the Silver Mountain". The Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner years on vocals had a few radio hits like "Since You Been Gone", "Stone Cold", and "Street of Dreams". These songs were more commercial and shorter that worked well for a radio format.
Ronnie is one of the all time greats. There is no one like him. An amazing singer, but also a wonderful human being. To me he is the just the greatest person in rock n roll. Listen to Stargazer with Rainbow or Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath. 🤘
That's Ronnie James Dio, the Godfather of Metal", known ad the GOAT vocally. Check out Ronnie in his other bands 'Elf', 'Black Sabbath', 'Dio' and "Heaven and Hell'. And always check out Dio LIVE. That voice, UNREAL. A gift from God. He sang professionally for over 50 years and NEVER lost his vocal ability, an ability I've never seen anyone else have. By the way, the keyboardist is a young MAN. David Stone.
You just been introduced to Ronnie James Dio, a metal legend, one of the greatest voices of all time, highly reviewed and highly missed. He died in 2010, but will never be forgotten. Listen to “holy diver“. He sang with many bands, including Black Sabbath I believe.
If you get a chance Rosanna look up Holy Mary James" the original got taken down but there is still a react video to it. Rick James and Ronnie combine. If you enjoy it you can find the name of the youtube channel that does the combines.
Nice one! Was lucky enough to attend quite a few of these concerts back in the day - none of them were ever the same - but most were insane! Would suggest you go straight for it and react to "Stargazer" next - the absolute ultimate - followed by "Light in the Black" which concludes the whole story - Epic!
I love your reactions to Dio. I really do sympathize with the shock his voice gives to ears. And you got a great voice too. Keep up the good work. If you wanna react to more of his work with this band you should react to Stargazer , Gates of Babylon live.
Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore formed Rainbow. This was originally a Deep Purple song originally sang by Deep Purple's 3rd singer David Coverdale, who went on to form Whitesnake. This live version features Ronnie James Dio on vocals (Elf, Black Sabbath, Dio), Jimmy Bain on bass (Dio, Last In Line, Gary Moore, Wild Horses), Cozy Powell on drums (Jeff Beck Group, Graham Bonnet, Michael Schenker Group, Whitesnake, Emerson Lake & Powell, Black Sabbath, Yngwie Malmsteen), Tony Carey on keyboards.
Just found your channel and love it! This is one of my favorite Rainbow songs/versions. As others mentioned Ronnie James Dio was in Sabbath, had his own band, Rainbow...a very, very talented man. If you want some other classic rock with insane vocals check out Judas Priest Run of the Mill (likely not known very well) Rob Halford's vocals rip but the entire band is so tight on that song. Thanks again man, love the video.
You reacted to the original version of this song 2 months ago by Deep Purple with David Coverdale on vocals who went on to form Whitesnake. You were blown away.
Richie Blackmore sure knew a good singer when he heard them. Rainbow went through 4 amazing singer worth checking out: RJD; Graham Bonnet; Joe Lynn Turner; Doogie White. At one point when reforming Deep Purple he considered many other great singer's including; Jimi Jamison; Terry Brock and even John Farnham.
@@j.j.hayden9461 yes, he sang with Ritchie in 2016 under newly formed Rainbow playing the classics. I first saw him doing a cover of Rainbow Eyes, it was very good.
Finally someone mentioned Blackmore. Ritchie maybe was the best Talent Scout in the business. The list of singers he picked was phenomenal. Also his ability to change his tone and sound to match the Singers Voice. Blackmore was also maybe the greatest performing guitarist live. He has created the most Original Music in the business. We may have never known who Dio was if not for Ritchie. Elf was around for a while but they never had one song that was played Nationally or International Song. It was only when Dio got with a musical genius when his popularity grew. When he went solo as great as the First two albums were a warm up band again.
This was Live in Concert Munich Germany 1977 in the Olympic Arena 14.000 people sold out Arena but many left cause of Richies very late arrival due Police Issues in Vienna Austria before that Gig in Munich.
The singer is the legend Ronnie James Dio, you have reacted to him before: The last in line, children of the sea and heaven and hell. 🤘 He began his career as a singer with dio and the prophets, after that elf, after that Rainbow, then black sabbath (there he consolidated as a leyend), finally his solo career with the band named DIO.
Ronnie James Dio is an incredibly talented and versatile singer. Coupled with Richie Blackmore on guitar, this lineup was one of those lightning strikes that just don't happen more than once. Brilliance!! It was awesome seeing you appreciate this, brother.
Dio is a rocker, Everyone will tell you about him replacing Ozzy in Sabbath....but for some real history on Ronnie look up Ronnie & The Prophets - "I Told You So" 1963...you will be surprised!!!!!
You reacted to this song before, performed by Deep Purple who originally wrote, recorded and performed this track. Ritchie Blackmore, guitarist of Deep Purple, Rainbow and Blackmore's Night, clearly wanted to do the song with Dio as a singer too. It's nice to compare the two versions of the same song and take note of the differences :)
Ronnie James Dio, often referred to as simply Dio, Italian for God. One of the greatest vocalists of all time, not just in metal. Should definitely check out stargazer by rainbow, or heaven and hell by Black Sabbath. RIP RJD 🤘🤘🤘
Elf (originally called the Electric Elves, later shortened to the Elves before finally changing it to Elf) before both Dio and Sabbath. Not to mention Ronnie Dio and the Redcaps that was even way back, even though it was a totally different genre of music.
Just so you know he has Reacted to Dio- The Last In Line as well as Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell, and now Rainbow- Mistreated. All are Ronnie James Dio. That being said please React to Liliac- Mars (Live in Cumming GA).
Ironically, Ronnie James Dio did not like performing MISTREATED as it was a DEEP PURPLE song from their Mark III era, written by Ritchie and David Coverdale. In spite of his disdain for performing the song, he made it his own.
Sorry not as good as the original Deep Purple (original) version, sung by David Coverdale. David put more feeling into the song particularly the live version. As for Dio yes he can yell really well but I have never liked his voice, sorry about that!

Magistral descripción, yo he visto 3 veces a Deep Purple, 2 veces a Rainbow, pero con Joe Lynn Turner y 1 vez a Blackmore's Night

Not one the best ever. Rip dio miss u every day
Ritchie blackmore one of the greatest guitarists ever
The most underrated rock band ever!
One of my all time favourite bands.
They were all superstars hence a supergroup. Dio himself probably the most accomplished at his gift at singing and no slouch on bass also.
you already reacted to two videos of this singer, heaven and hell and last in line, Ronnie James Dio!!! The most powerful voice in metal

Actually this live performance had Bob Daisley on Bass and David Stone on keyboards. This is the MK3 line up for Rainbow.

I was thinking On Stage not Live In Munich, so yes, you're correct.
Ritchie Blackmore is the brainchild of this band, not to mention he’s one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time
Ronnie James Dio is often regarded as the greatest heavy metal singer of all time.
Because he is. :) \m/
Prime Dickinson probably my favourite front man, did was running round the stage hitting killer notes
Hello from Cody wyoming! I saw Dio in 1987 in Colorado... blew my mind! You're awesome keep it up dude😀 good luck with your eyesight that's a bummer

oh yes now your talking...cant wait for you to do stargazer...and gates of babylon...dio such a rabbit hole to go down...a legend
Yea, been down in that hole for over a year now and gloriously lost there! 😂 His voice and my soul have a passionate relationship! 🤘🏻🌈❤️🔥🖤
You reacted to this singer before. I had requested The Last In Line a few months ago. Same singer, different band. Still awesome.
You can throw Ronnie Romero as well.
@@jalkabre5904 ah a more recent member, I've not heard him yet, but if he lives up to the previous lads, I'll be very interested.
Cheers

Someone gave Dio a Blues song. And the Devil approved 😉
Amazing Performance 🎉
Oh yeah, the guitarist is Ritchie Blackmore of Derp Purple. This is a tally a Deep Purple song.
You must check out Stargazer by Rainbow. The vocals will knock your socks off.
OOh we love a bit of Dio !! (RIP Ronnie) Thanks Dominic !!
The singer is the legend Ronnie James Dio, you have reacted to him before: The last in line, children of the sea and heaven and hell. 🤘

Amazing Rainbow MkIII Line up

Ronnie James Dio is an incredibly talented and versatile singer. Coupled with Richie Blackmore on guitar, this lineup was one of those lightning strikes that just don't happen more than once. Brilliance!!

Rainbow - Stargazer !!!
Gates of babylon, Stargazer, Kill the King, Man on the Silver Mountain

Deep Purple Child in Time live 1970 is must watch…
He did Child in Time about a week before this reaction. Check out his channel and review his videos for the reaction.
1977 - i was 10 years old

Ritchie wrote the song, didn't he?
By the way, he was inspired by Motown, so if you hear some soul in his voice it’s because of that!
This true Dio started his career as a bass and trumpet player and a doowop singer.
He was in Efl, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio Band and Heaven and Heall band
Ronnie James Dio, often referred to as simply Dio, Italian for God. One of the greatest vocalists of all time, not just in metal. Should definitely check out stargazer by rainbow, or heaven and hell by Black Sabbath. RIP RJD 🤘🤘🤘

Lol np brother Dio does that
Welcome to the greatest gentleman vocal master.

can we say that rjd has something on the singer from the darkness -
i should say so - but good review nonetheless
This dude did a deal with the Devil!
He was in a Doo Wop band back in the day. Check out Stargazer next..
You got to check out "Holy Diver" it'll change your world.... guaranteed
You loved this then try Stargazer.
The real Rainbow.
well, you already reacted to some songs with DIO.
Ritchie is a legend as DIO by himself
Cozy as well
Just a party of the OGs i guess
This is the same singer from Black Sabbath .....Children of the Sea. Which you reacted too. Ronnie James Dio.
Wore my tape out.
I think you`ve already done a Dio (solo) reaction. Last In Line (when he was much older)
You already reacted to Last in Line from Dio, it's the same guy.
same guitarist from Child in Time
Never ever compare RJD to anyone. Their isn’t anyone close. Even Erik Dickerson and Geoff Tate for their range are not in the same league of RJD.
Yea, Ronnie is in a category all his own! There's good, great, expert and then there's DIO! Period!! 🤘🏻🔥❤️
You must react now to Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath. Same singer and a really great song
You never heard of Ronnie James Dio , REALLY?
You realize the singer is Dio, right? You reacted to him before :)
I think you would love Rainbow- Stargazer more.
Who wouldnt
dio :)
So glad i found u
Great enjoying my shit w u
But the thing is u ACTUALLY know a bit about music and vox.
Cheers
Please react to more songs from Greta Van Fleet !!!! ❤️🔥
Your face… at a certain point, Ronnie James Dio gets everyone. Gone way too early.
Coverdale does a great version of this but he is a poor second to this.
Coverdale did a great original of this, but at this occasion the the copy is far better than the original.
Sorry not as good as the original Deep Purple (original) version, sung by David Coverdale. David put more feeling into the song particularly the live version. As for Dio yes he can yell really well but I have never liked his voice, sorry about that!
Yes, the Deep Purple California Jam version of the song is the one to listen to :-)
No, Dio version is another level.
hey my channel u are rookie man kkkkkkkkkkkk, try more, p-lease dio live bible balck, die young< try dio in the rock palast holanda moob rules
Do your research before you react to a song..
No line up will ever be stronger then Blackmore dio!! Ever !!!!
Who the fuck needs a reaction to Mistrideth/Rainbow with dio when the original is Mistrideth Deep Purple with Coverdale?!
mistrideath you mean
