About the most useless video I’ve ever seen. Clearly he doesn’t know that the 18v and 20v are the same. As for mounting post dewalt mod just buy a dewalt drill mount.
Swap ability is a big benefit. You can have one battery charging while you're using the other and you can pretty much continually use it. And if you have a 4-bay charger or multiple you won't run out of battery you'll just keep on swapping. And if you go with the Whiteley aftermarket DeWalt batteries that are 1/4 the price and they are very very good cells in them. The one downside is they're plastic does not have fiber reinforcement thereby making their shells not strong I use these industrially and still don't have issues with it
Thank you Bro. Bought the Dewalt adapter for the V7. Of course, there was no instructions in the box from Amazon. Found your video, you showed me the three screws to remove, put it on, works like a charm. Thank you again.
Adapter you recommended works only with Dewalt battery according to Amazon. If you're not on Dewalt platform that'll cost more that getting OEM Batteries losing the charger stand.
Thank you for your video! I installed the adapter on our Dyson V8 Absolute. I used a Milwaukee XC 5.0 battery, but only get 30 minutes on high. It is certainly better than the 5-6 minutes on a Dyson battery. However, 30 minutes seems short for a power tool battery. Will the batteries you use last longer on high?
@@LawnPusher thanks for the reply. I just wanted to see if I didn't have to buy more batteries. I guess I'll go and pick up some Dewalt batteries then.
Can you do a video of max run time using a variety of dewalt batteries? Of course it would have to be sped up but looking into going this way since a OEM replacement is 99 plus tax and probably won’t last anywhere as long as a big dewalt
Incorrect. You would think that, but I didn’t see a difference on it. Did another video, linked in description, looking at power and run time. You don’t see a difference in power. Plus you can run on Max power if you need more power to suck on dirt.

My wife can it without swapping for a week. And she’s a clean freak. That’s using a 6ah battery, not using max, and doing 2 stories of the house.
thank you so much. i just placed my order for my dyson v8 absolute. this is a game changer.
Works flawlessly
Thank you for this! It really helped me. Thanks, thanks, thanks! 👍. Just installed the new battery. Just like you instructed. Works great!!
Awesome. It’s a great modification
Did not know about these adapters. I just bought my 2nd Dyson replacement battery
Been over a year and works flawlessly

I just posted the video on run-times. Check my channel. I did 2,5,6ah batteries on Normal and Max power
What DeWalt battery adapter are you using ? Mine originally. Is SV11
LInk is in the description

it works with multiple. It came in the package with a slip of paper with all the brands. Also should say something in the comments on amazon about it
A year later, has the motor held up running the 20v batteries?
Motor hasn’t even slowed down. Still kicking butt. I am actually making a follow up video this week. Subscribe
Omg thank you! I could’ve saved 150$ by coming across this video. Now I don’t have to send my vacuum off to Dyson.
Glad I could help! you’re welcome
Excellent. Thanks for sharing this information.
No problem. Ask questions if you have any. Also have another part that shows the testing, and a part 3 that is a consolidation of part 1 and 2

This is my testing video on 3 different sized batteries. Duration depends on your battery size.
What do you do if the screws are stripped and too tight to budge?
Did you strip them?
@@LawnPusher Yes, they’re known to strip easily and are way too tight to turn.
I’m confused. Can anyone tell me if you use the charger that comes with this vacuum to charge the yellow batteries?
You take the battery out when it’s dead and charge it with the DeWalt charger.
Thank.. your video very useful
No problem, hope it helps your battery last longer!
What’s the link for the dewalt adapter
In the description. First link to the 20v adapter

Will this adapter fit a kobalt 24v battery?
It’s made for the DeWalt, but if you click my link, it should show other options for batteries

Yes. Will do it on Monday and post it up. I have a variety of sized DeWalt batteries. It will be a fun experiment
Wife loves it. When I does run out, I just hand her a new battery. She uses the 6ah 20v battery and says it’s not heavy when she uses it

Only thing is the milwaukee and dewalt batteries are 5 cell and the dyson battery is a 6 cell. You get longer runtime but reduced power.

I did this but it doesn’t work, it just pulsates. Whats wrong?
Sounds like you need to clean and clear the dirt collector
DeWalt 20V battery are 18V battery , look it up
Link?
Pretty cool option or you can use your Toro or Ego blower and open your front door and blow out all the dust and debris out the front door lol 😂
I like that idea
I do the once a year with the fan pointed out a window 😂😂😂😂
