      manjit Marwaha: Thank you. That’s the power of video. By the way I put some subtitles for non-Koreans. You know Mr Bong (parasite) said “If you can overcome an 1-inch barrier of subtitles, you can reach so many good videos.”

      Yes, this is VERY GOOD video series - you are a good teacher. Your video presentation is excellent so language is not important and the subtitles work great. Thank you for speaking in your own language during the video, rather than adding stupid music and graphics like other channels. I also like the funny jokes and comments in the subtitles... I am in Sydney Australia and I only speak English. There are a lot of Korean people living here but we do not usually hear or read any Asian humour! :-)

    • @DrKimFixnSolve
      @DrKimFixnSolve  4 года назад

      Thank you for enjoying the video. By the way, some of subtitle humors in the series may come from RUclips automatic translations. Sometimes they are silly. Please be aware of the possibility.

    • @dolphinberserk

      The subtitles generally worked fine (auto subtitles can be pretty funny sometimes, but Dr Kim chose his words well. Accurate word choice makes for better auto translation subtitles) . Nonetheless, I think Dr Kim's style of explanation could work, even without the subtitles - I didn't notice them until half-way to the end! I also very much appreciate that you do these videos in your first language of Korean. If everything on the internet was in English, we wouldn't learn/exchange anything about other cultures! I picked up where you were saying I think se jeom se bolteu for 3.3v, is that correct? I don't know any Korean, but I got a tiny glimpse of how your language works, which was also interesting. It is very interesting to hear someone go through a thought process in another language. Last year I had to remove a gearbox and clutch from a Fiat at home, and the only decent info I could find (Fiat don't allow workshop manuals) was a RUclips video by a Russian fellow, in Russian with no subtitles. It was kind of fun to be watching him work his way through problems in Russian in his garage in Russia while I worked on the same problems in my own garage in Australia, thinking in English. What an age we live in where we can share these things. Peace to you all and all your countries!

    • @DrKimFixnSolve
      @DrKimFixnSolve  4 года назад +1

      Yes. Indeed we are all connected through RUclips videos in this age. I also got a lot of information from foreign videos. You picked up very closely the Korean ‘sam jeom sam’ bolt for 3.3 V. Sam means three and jeom means dot.

    Thank you! This is a brilliant demonstration of how to solve a simple electronic problem, and also of how to change the PCB - even when the terminals differed. Great work. The camera position is excellent and you demonstrate problem solving using pen and paper - this type of video is something many young people should watch to understand how things can easily be tested and fixed (instead of thrown away). Unfortunately, I found this video AFTER buying a new battery for my Dyson. Now I wish I had found this earlier and changed the PCB (every new plastic product we buy contributes to the environmental problems for our grandchildren). In future I will check my battery voltages and try to change the PCB. In fact, I might test the old battery unit, repair it and give it away to someone who needs a new battery. Power to you Dr Kim - you have a another fan! (Me!)

Just avoid shorting volts (from fully charged cells) to points where they are not appreciated. Worked striaght away. Dyson now as good as new. Well chuffed.

    Thank you so much for your video, it was actually an easy and cheap fix compared to buying a new battery. Ordered a BMS from Aliexpress but I fried it with a short (my bad), so ordered a second one and it is fixed now! The hardest parts are to disassemble the battery case and desolder the BMS (a real pain in the back)...

    Great job, I believe the red light is the result from a dropped battery. The thermistor wire breaks then the firmware bricks itself to red light. The board would be perfect if the firmware is reloaded and thermistor repaired in my opinion. Also you can open the battery in 10 seconds. Put small end in the vise, pull sideways both ways.

      i just bought a multimetre today and measured both battery and the main body .battery was ok 23,5 V . I measured the main body for the first 3 seconds i got the beep sound and it stoped. Can i assume there is a short circuit in main body? But when insert the battery it works with no problem . After 5 mn of working it gives me the red flashing light and stops. Then i remove the battery and press the button to check it , it gives blue light and 23V which means it is ok ? What can the red light result from even though battery and main body works ok?thanks in advance

When measuring the voltage directly from the positive and negative holes in the battery pack, the multimeter reads near 22.6 volts wich is more than perfect. Its seems they balance and all batteries are charged. BUT, back in the time probsbly BMS Registered low voltage failure flag or just faulty chip of BMS. I'll try to figure out.

    This is a summary video of how to fix a Dyson V6 battery with red-light flashing more than 30 times and no charging any more. In this video, I tried to open the battery case without too much scratches, diagnosed the battery problem, purchased a replacement part (a third-party BMS-PCB from China), detached the faulty Dyson OEM PCB, soldered the replacement PCB, and finally reassembled the battery and applied to the Dyson V6 Cordless. The fix was successful and the replacement part works perfectly. I think the Dyson V6 BMS-PCB has some wrong (evil) design, otherwise it should work with any healthy battery cells. Now Dyson should fix it.

    Sir i just seperated the bms and i will solder the new one from china.
    You used some copper wires.
    If i unsolder the original nickel connections as intact, can i put them back in the new bms holes and solder it or i have to cut them on the edge and connect with copper wires like you did?

    • @DrKimFixnSolve
      @DrKimFixnSolve  3 года назад +1

      If you can use the original nickel wire, it will be better. For me, the hole shape was different so that I had to use the copper wires to connect.

      Thank you for watching! A new Dyson battery may cost ~$100. Replacement battery ~$50 PCB ~$10 or less. Definitely worth to try. Also we can save the resource to protect the world. The video language is Korean from a country of Mr. Bong Jun-Ho ("Parasite") and BTS.

      You may be right, but without a safety-proved BMS it may be too dangerous to fix a high-voltage battery. I can say that the third-party BMS works fine by now. Good luck.

    I would not call this a "repair" video, its just a parts replacement video, in the same way like you would replace the wheel on your car when you have flat tire, you do not actually fix anything just replace the parts and then still have to go to tire fixing shop and they would "plug the hole" in the tire.

    Hello, I have the same problem with the red light flashing 32 times, after that 1 time green light. Meassured each battery: 3.45-3.51 V on each cell and all together 20.89 V on the connected cells. When pressing the power button, I got 20.07 V on the engine connector.
    What could be the problem? I left it empty for one weak (forgot charging it) and since then I have this problem. But the cells doesn‘t look damaged since they have all arround 3.5V?
    Does someone have an idea?

    • @DrKimFixnSolve
      @DrKimFixnSolve  5 лет назад

      I guess the voltage imbalance may happen during the week. If you can’t charge the battery due to red light flashing, you have to replace the locked BMS PCB.
