Thank you for sharing! I love getting a better idea of the beliefs and practices of groups like LDS and JW so I can better understand where their beliefs differ from mine, but the manipulation and control is so scary too!
Yes it is! I was faithful through a divorce when my ex became an alcoholic and had an affair and was left with three kids and no child support. To find out all the lies that I was told decades later, what my boys went through, disgusting situation. I would not have been able to stay married to my ex but the pressure and pain of being a divorced single mom absolutely sucked. I’ve never been Mormon, but I would push back on the restricting leisurely time. I remember going to my neighbor’s house as a kid on a Sunday to ask if she could play, but she wasn’t allowed to since it was Sunday. I’ve also lived in several states and both weekend days will be crowded for events, but here in Utah, if something is open on Sunday, that’s the day we go knowing it won’t be crowded because many LDS will stay home even for free events. My understanding is that money is not to be spent on Sundays which I would argue could go under both monetary control and leisure time control.

@@OldeAmericanSpirit you can’t go into the temple and do the rituals there unless you have a temple recommend. You go to the bishop (the leader of the congregation.
