    Yes it is! I was faithful through a divorce when my ex became an alcoholic and had an affair and was left with three kids and no child support. To find out all the lies that I was told decades later, what my boys went through, disgusting situation. I would not have been able to stay married to my ex but the pressure and pain of being a divorced single mom absolutely sucked. It's nothing but lies and they're all provable, even on their website in the gospel doctrine essays... Right there in our face

    I’ve never been Mormon, but I would push back on the restricting leisurely time. I remember going to my neighbor’s house as a kid on a Sunday to ask if she could play, but she wasn’t allowed to since it was Sunday. I’ve also lived in several states and both weekend days will be crowded for events, but here in Utah, if something is open on Sunday, that’s the day we go knowing it won’t be crowded because many LDS will stay home even for free events. My understanding is that money is not to be spent on Sundays which I would argue could go under both monetary control and leisure time control.

    what is a coveted 'temple recommend' ? Used as a fear monger about heaven?

    • @CandlewickLibrary
      @CandlewickLibrary  11 дней назад +1

      @@OldeAmericanSpirit you can’t go into the temple and do the rituals there unless you have a temple recommend. You go to the bishop (the leader of the congregation. He is not someone that has been trained in theology; just a member of the ward that has been given the calling) and he asks a bunch of questions. Then you have to do another interview with another higher up leader and they give you your recommend if you are deemed worthy. If you can’t go to the temple you can’t make the covenants they believe you need to get into the highest level of heaven which is where God dwells. So you won’t be with Him or your family if you haven’t been able to do those things

      The BITE model and all other tests to determine if something is a cult is pseudoscience. The whole category of cults is problematic. You can literally just throw any group you don’t like into that category. According to these models, you can fit in most churches, corporations, nations, or sports teams. Early Christianity was definitely a cult with Jesus as their cult leader who was a trouble maker and a convicted felon. As a Latter-day Saint, I feel we are in good company.

  • @booknerdktree
    @booknerdktree 11 дней назад +1

    Yes! They now call themselves Christian’s! This is one of my problems with the Chosen show. Mormons work on it along with Christian’s and Catholics. Along with the creator saying he believes Mormons believe in the same Jesus😫

      @@booknerdktree yeah that’s one of the reasons I stopped watching it. I thought it was good, but I know where they film it. Yeah Josh and I found many parts that didn’t clarify Jesus divinity in it, which means the Mormons can watch without it contradicting “their version” of Jesus😫 His mom was the one who raved about it and bought it for us so we were immediately like oh no what’s wrong with it tho😅
