- Just a video showing my issue with my transmission control module on my 2008 infiniti fx35 transmission it got stuck in 1st gear not shifting due to a p1757 check engine light code. I found and showed the exact problem being a circuit brake that had to be soldered once done I put back together and works like perfect.
Link to full video of person j was speaking about that did a full removal detailed

That specific one breaking must be fairly common. I picked up an 08 fx35 with transmission problems. Popped the TCM out and the same one was broken. Soldering fixed it up. Thanks for the video!
I highly recomend to use strands of wire and braid it on both sides of the broken connection and then solder it. If you only use solder, you will be droping the valve body again sonner than later.😊
Im fixing this problem right now too😂. This will be my 6th time doing this. Seems like the solder melts when 'abusing' the car like hitting high speeds or long periods of driving. Im not a mechanic and i was able to do it. One thing he doesn't meantion is knowing which bolts to remove from the valve body and remembering where they go when installing the valve body back. Theres long bolts, small bolts and 1 bolt thats a guide bolt.
You can get something to put the screws in, you can also take them out and set them on the floor, put them in the same pattern that you remove them, put the same screw, where you took it out from.
I actually saw his video, but thanks for sharing as well.
Good job brother teaching
2005 FX35 230K miles same code just popped for me.
How many miles have you driven without issues since the repair?
I've seen online that some have reported the same/other codes come back after soldering but I'm also reading that it's possibly because technical error of the soldering like we mentioned in the video.
I have driven about 10 thousand miles all still working perfect
@@coreymoto Could this be the same problem for code P1759?
06 FX35, Just popped up too.
Does anyone have this Code on engine p1757 and do you guys have problems with acceleration
I have the code and have problems accelerating after coming to a stop
@@713braulio yes man I lost value with my car ended up selling it for 3k lost of value
my car has 230 thousand miles on it! makes me wonder if they fixed it before? I bet I can tell if they have
Thank you for the video, I have a 2004 fx35 awd. I have a gear changing issue, I think it has the same code. I will talk to my mechanic about it to see if we can check for that. what transmission fluid did you fill it with and how many quarts it takes. Thanks
Sorry about the late response I used this www.autozone.com/motor-oil-and-transmission-fluid/transmission-fluid/p/valvoline-maxlife-multi-vehicle-automatic-transmission-fluid-1-gallon/819367_0_0?gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVtfGE3tpIRryi84ICxqWGYcY&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:19502231967&&CATARGETID=120054150001287504&CADevice=m&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVtfGE3tpIRryi84ICxqWGYcY&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg4n7gt7J_AIVFQKtBh2xLwQdEAQYAyABEgIAuvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
And it was almost exactly 2 gallons and that was just dripping fluid from pan and any run off from the valve body as I let it drip drip into pan for about a hour
@@coreymoto How long you been Runnin' This Fluid? Every forum I've been reading swears by Using J Matic only...
@@coreymotoCorey did drain it 1st? Then you add a whole gallon?
Does it matter what kind of solder to use?
Could you put a lil tap weld on it
What is sodering welding it? And sorry man I'm in Mexico and I don't understand all the words
Soldar eso
Type of solder best used?
How many speeds is your transmision bro ??
5 speed auto rwd
Thanks 👍
how does it brake like that ?
Has anyone tried clearing the code and driving it or it is a permanent code until repaired? I'm going to try that today. If the break is sporadic, you might be able to clear the code and it go back to shifting right until the separation happens again.
I was scared when it happened with mine because it was stuck in a low gear so I had to drive slow and I was 40 miles from home I made it but it was scary cause I didn’t know what was wrong with the truck then I repair it and it wasn’t that bad
@@coreymoto When it happened I shifted the car into manual and noticed the gears not changing properly when I requested it to. Once I got home I shut the car off. Then restarted it and it did code but was running and driving as normal. I cleared the code and it hasn’t coded since. I will repair it once I get my other car up and running. Now I’m avoiding pot holes and going very slow over railroad tracks to try to keep it from disconnecting. My car has 220k so that’s not too bad for a weak point in the cars construction. Thanks for the video!
@@poemranger I got the exact same code p1757 front brake solinoid. In D mode it drives fine, but in DS mode the gears feel super jerky it feels bad asf. For now I’m just driving the car in regular drive. I’m thinking I’m just gonna change the entire vavle body instead of replacing the entire transmission costing me more
Did you ever fix your problem?
@@panchogomez4238 I haven’t yet. I had to change the computer on my 2015 cruze now that it’s done I will b able to do it once I changed the oil in my cruze. I’m going to change the trans filter and fluid at the same time on the Infiniti. Mine seems to be triggered when I hit large bumps in the road. And when it happened and coded it was very jerky and didn’t want to go into gear even when I used manual shifting. U can try clearing the code for now see if it comes back and under what conditions like with mine when I hit big pot holes or go over rr tracks too fast (faster than 25mins). Mine coded once and hasn’t coded since only because it’s not happening long enough to trigger the limp mode. Once in a while I can feel it disconnect because I press on the gas and it jerks into gear after revving the motor.
Did u have a problem with the acceleration did it pick up slow because I have this problem too but on my g35 idk if itz the same maybe idk
I have the same issue did u end up repairing it
