Incredible video, god it’s terrible memories seeing how bad of a 6 Michael Bradley was lmao. His form dropped so much when he went back to MLS. I didn’t remember how bad the selection was by Bruce Arena turning it into a MLS showcase. At the time of the Trinidad match there was an in form Jonathan Gonzalez who switched to Mex and Weston Mckennie who weren’t picked. I remember an early Altidore miss vs Trinidad that was huge. There was also no rotation from the previous match. We played a 41212 I think it was and easily could’ve taken off Altidore for Dempsey or something. Even with the selection there was no excuse considering we were playing a team of USL and local Trinidadian players though lol.
@@yateso9441 I never said that. I simply said Bradley is one of the best American players I was able to see, not the best overall. being a U.S. fan might be painful but being a portuguese fan and seeing Portugal losing against them in WC2002 was also very painful, it felt like if the All-Blacks lost against Portugal in Rugby, and then watching Jon Steward making fun of us in the Daily Show, what a crapshow it was for us, especially after a brilliant euro2000 campaign... oh well.... luckily then we hosted euro2004 and then... we lost the final for freaking Greece... thankfully in euro2016 we were France's Greece... and it felt AWESOME! Go Eder!
Canada has pay to play as well…our talent pool would be insane if we didnt have it either. But fingers crossed the Canadian Premier League will make it better.
I do think the USMNT needed this to become better in the future. I mean look at England. They needed the lowest moment against Iceland in 2016 to then develop out of that arrogant mindset. It took getting rid of a lot of older experienced talent like Rooney Hart and Cahill, so the USMNT prove their worth.
Exactly, as an Englishman I respect the hell out of the US national team because we have very similar paths. We use our shortcomings as fuel to improve and now we have one of our best squads and a real chance of winning the World Cup. The US are also having their very own golden generation in the making right now. (All bets are off when we face each other though lol)
Add another title to the USMNT's resume after their failed qualification to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia: Dos A Cero over Mexico to complete their three-peat in the CONCACAF Nations League.
The humiliation that followed after the Klinsmann sacking was the greatest thing to ever happen to US soccer. The arrogance of MLS and college soccer, the entitlement of the us athletes, growing up in the pay for play system which fostered the suburban soccer mom orange slices image of soccer, and the old culture/american way of doing things all died in one night on that pitch in Trinidad & Tobago. And from those ashes, something special is brewing.
As an Englishman I love hearing about different cultures of football and their stories, one day I hope that we can make top end football a global event and not just have the pinnacle be the best of Europe in the Champions League. Just not the Super League concept which would be an absolute disaster if implemented.
I have been wanting to watch this video since it came out but I didn't want to watch it until I knew for sure the US would qualify for this world cup, because in case they failed again, I didn't want to bring back the old awful memories just to make new ones. Instead, I watched this video the day after they qualified and can finally exorcise those old memories 🎉
16:54 I remember i tried to play in the states of a american soccer middle school team i was addicted to the sport of soccer not watching it on tv instead just playing it kicking the ball high in the air because of free for all games or playing with a shoe coming off on the grass to continue playing chasing every ball going through multiple players 1v1 or free for all but when I tried out for the team it felt so rigid the formation felt soulless i tried out for defense i thought ill just run to the midfield and clear the ball to midfield instead of hitting it out thinking i would accidentally create a turn over for the other team so i just went through the attackers run to midfielders for position pressure to allow my side multiple assist chances for the goals but for some reason the coach did not like that and in my head i was saying do you actually want players or just a formation of position holders like is this even footballers or a different sport i was the top runner but the coaches did not care

We were trashed by AUSTRALiA, fucking australia man. A country who lost to fricking Emus.
it can't be as bad as what you're seeing rn tho
feels a bit unfair that australia moved to the AFC and they played honduras in the playoff whilst New Zealand in the OFC played against CONMEBOL lol
Oh, apparently that has been changed for 2022 my bad
I was getting major Days of our Steelers vibes. Great video.
I'm Mexican and I honestly felt bad because in the 2014 qualifiers the US had saved us and we failed to return the favor :(
Bro you don't need to feel sorry theres no "saving other teams" in football
@@champschannel44 yea south Korea helped mexico not play them again
@@champschannel44 he’s American Mexican you forgetting Mexico and usa be buddy buddy lmaoo Honduras could never 🇭🇳
@@1papitolindo Honduras could never have a important role in the World Cup either
no favors out here, usa didn't help Mexico deliberately
this is an underrated video. Great work man! Greetings from Mexico.
Thank you! - from the US
We’re doing well recently. 3 games against Mexico in a row we’ve won
Yeah til both of y’all get first rounded in the round of 16 by France or Brazil 😭😭😭
Yeah but Mexico is a very average team, play against any European team like Germany France, England or Spain Or Brazil or Argentina and it’ll be a shit show
@@Giggoer1998 but Germany lost to mexico tho
@@Jl-mt4kp that was like 4 years ago. Currently hansi flick's Germany will win against Mexico anyday imo.
You’re going to face a brutal reality check at the World Cup.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched, I laughed throughout the entire thing and watched a whole bunch of your other videos. Good work man!
I only just saw this, but thank you so much!
@Gordon Enenmoh This is also the first Video I have watched his channel too
US frauding their way to witness Panama qualify for the WC. That's tuff..
This was such a great video, it honestly deserves so many more views. I'm gonna be pissed if the US don't make it into the WC this year. Also what's your opinion on Gregg?
sorry I'm only responding to this: tbh Gregg digs his own grave. He has so many options yet plays Lletget and Arriola. I get squad rotation and all but you can't just make 7 changes and disrupt the chemistry away at Panama. I wanna see what happens this next international window and I'll get a better idea cos idk what to think atm. Also dear god he needs to utilize Pulisic better.
@@Maqwell pulisic is the reason Gregg isn’t getting sacked
@@zeroid5945 plus some people that scored equalizers and/or game winners also saved Gregg's job
i've been randomly re-watching this video every month since it pretty much came out its such a good video
This was the year I was out of college and it was part of the reason I had stopped watching the sport for a little. Was absolutely devastating lol.
I stood up and saluted during your entire ending statements. This was therapy for me as well. Thank you.
Now they qualified out the group stages in 2022😭🇺🇸
Gotta say, I fucking love Days of our Steelers music, no matter how much pain this episode causes me
I was so happy that day as I am from Panama. Our first ever worldcup!! And now we didnt qualify for 2022
That Trinidad and Tobago match was more shameful than brazil's 7-1
Funnier as well!
Michael Bradley was one of the best American players I've seen.
Haha just goes to show you don’t watch any soccer if you think BRADLEY was the best…. Sorry ass player
@@yateso9441 I never said that. I simply said Bradley is one of the best American players I was able to see, not the best overall. There's a whole era of American soccer prior 1934 when star studded USMNT was one of the best teams in the world. The undisputed best American player ever is Archie Stark but I never saw him play, he died age 88 in 1985.
@@BurnRoddy 1934 🤣
@@yateso9441 Is it my fault that you don't know your own soccer history?
ruclips.net/video/9H5U67gZYWQ/видео.html
@@BurnRoddy American soccer is just not that interesting really 🤣 our team just got good and I’ve been watching them since I was a child in the 90s. Before that we were a laughing stock and it’s still annoying for us to call ourselves good when we beat Mex and weak teams but we can’t beat Jamaica in the last. Idk no one really cares about the history of American soccer before the 80s
When the "Days of our Steelers" music starts, you know it's going to be a masterclass.
As a German I feel your pain for the 2018 World Cup
Same….but hopefully the WC winners curse will hit France. But Flick seems to have team back on track but we’re still missing No.9
@@derpanzer5219 such hate
I just randomly ran across this video because RUclips figured out how much soccer I watch, and I might have discovered the best video on the internet. Bravo my friend
USA was just being generous and gave Panama the chance to make their debut at the world cup. Btw Michael Bradley mostly played like when you play FIFA and the controller turns off...
Yeah sure if following that logic then 4-0 shouldn't had happened
13:52 I remember watching this and thinking, "That's...that's not a goal! How can that be a goal? THAT'S NOT EVEN A GOAL...!!!"
if this was disallowed i think they would still fire bruce
i think we would of playoff and i think we would actually lose that 😂
Can't believe it.
330 million people and only 1 world class player.
Thats insane.
When I saw this vid I expected you to have more subs cus all the work you put in these videos. Keep up the work these vids are funny and really enjoying to watch 👍
Thanks man!
Great video bro, I am from Ireland and I can’t believe how much money it costs to play for a club. I have been playing for my club for 11 years and the only money I’ve ever had to pay is 50 euro registration at the start of the season and 5 euro for every game to play for the referee. Madness how much it costs
0:49 fun fact, the belgium photo was taken in the Arena Fonte Nova stadium in Salvador-Bahia, and in the top left corner you can see a guy with a flag with the logo of the Esporte Clube Bahia, the biggest team in the city and the biggest club in the brazilian northeast (also the team that i love)
I didn't know the Match was on, but I remember Taylor Twellman's Rant on ESPN the Next Morning. Fast Forward to that Summer after a Atlanta became the Hottest Craze for Soccer I watched as Volkswagen kept hitting Shots on Goal at us with their Ads. We really got to do something. Hopefully with this Team we'll make it.
Lol. I love how the last part of the video takes the same tone as Urinatingtree’s Days of our Steelers.
Maqwell looks like he got drunk and made this video like a drunk talking shit about his ex and I love every single second of it
that is a beautiful description oh my god haha
Bruh I wanna hug you so much. The pain of being a first gen american and a usmnt fan. My parents are peruvian and they always suffer cuz their country rarely qualifies. And in my head that day I was like "huh so this is how it feels like to not go to a world cup, why can't I stop crying?"
Not qualifying for the 2018 WC was the best thing to ever happen to the United States imo
It woke up a potential sleeping giant
Nah they aint getting past the round of 1y
16*
This was Pearl Harbor for us in football forum
I can vividly imagine how Klinsmann sits at the DFB headquarters laughing himself into half a coma
being a U.S. fan might be painful but being a portuguese fan and seeing Portugal losing against them in WC2002 was also very painful, it felt like if the All-Blacks lost against Portugal in Rugby, and then watching Jon Steward making fun of us in the Daily Show, what a crapshow it was for us, especially after a brilliant euro2000 campaign... oh well.... luckily then we hosted euro2004 and then... we lost the final for freaking Greece...
thankfully in euro2016 we were France's Greece... and it felt AWESOME!
Go Eder!
14:54 We now return to "Days of Our Steelers"
Canada has pay to play as well…our talent pool would be insane if we didnt have it either. But fingers crossed the Canadian Premier League will make it better.
Me from the future: Good news, Maxwell
0:01 Literally the first American online I have found who said football and not soccer.
Tbh I use both terms but I grew up saying football
Right
Maybe because he has an international audience.
This is underrated its earned a sub
Thanks!
I think this is the funniest upload I've seen from this channel. Probably because I'm american
Good video! As a Mexico fan, I love that the US is getting their shit together and giving us more competition
And canada even more
Loving the international content, this and the Vietnam video have been great 👍
Thank you man!
Coming back to this after he got 100k... the growth from him has been insane
Yeah it’s so cool he wanted 250 like
Michael Bradley can’t be the mayonnaise ngolo kanté got me dying 😂😂😂😂
if it werent for pay to play the US would have an unlimited talent pool
@DMo86 Wouldn't expect that cause it ain't the national sport in the US
11/15 birthday as well, feast day of St. Albert the Great! Love the channel, thank you for being real with our USMNT realities.
Glad to see we didn’t lose a final in the 2018 World Cup 🇺🇸💪🗿
i was at soccer practice when this happened and my coach stopped practice because of how bad we lost
So much rage and ferocity in this video. Liked and subscribed.
14:52 This week, on Days of our Americans...
Cant wait for the 2022 version of this when we lose 6-0 tonight
You should make a vid on what’s happening now and kinda what did we change after this in like a part 2 or something.
Could definitely do that at the end of the qualifiers
Maqwell, the team has redeemed themselves. They are back.
As an Englishman I love hearing about different cultures of football and their stories, one day I hope that we can make top end football a global event and not just have the pinnacle be the best of Europe in the Champions League. Just not the Super League concept which would be an absolute disaster if implemented.
Well World Cup is the top event in football mate
Gregg is showing his masterclass and we’re back in danger yet again
Arrogance and an aging players is a recipe for disaster for any team
just found this channel and already a fan if funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and entertaining im going to tell my friends about this channel
Appreciate it bro!
Pay to play is such an issue
Hopefully it’s fixed because once it is the federation and team can go to the next level
The best part of your review begins from 11:40 😂 Great review, man, seriously and I'm not even from the United States.
I laughed at the usmnt as a mexico fan it was fun but now we’re in the same spot y’all were in now I know how that pain feels
Great channel so underrated! Essay idea: going into Chelsea’s 10th place finish in 2016
that is an incredibly specific idea, but I like it lol
Because of the goal differential, all we needed was a draw and we got the last automatic qualification spot, and we were playing against the Trinidad b team, yet we STILL found a way to f*ck up our only chance of qualifiying, like even Argentina managed to pull off a last day comeback to qualify, but WE CANT?
i mean argentina is levels ahead of the us team so thats not really too suprising
