On the Mexico side, I think Tata Martino is stuck on the mindset of respecting seniority and starting places to a fault. If you earned a starting spot, you get a few chances to screw it up before you force his hand and he benches you. If you are a young new guy, you have to wait your turn even if you are clearly in better form than the guy in the starting spot. His mindset would be conservative if he applied it to a club over one season. Stretch it over four years, and you have the Mexican NT current situation. You guys are blessed to have Gregg in comparison.
Given the fact that Mexico won the Olympics, Liga MX having a strong core of young talent, and young Mexican-American MLS players jumping to support El Tri, I don’t see why Mexico has such an aging roster.
Not gonna lie, I've been thinking the exact same thing. I have been doing my best to cheer on Tata since I would see the passion he had during the time he won the Gold Cup with Mexico. But now I see desperation but instead of experimenting more with the younger players, he has decided to just stick to his guns and play the same players. I have seen countless videos of Mexican players that are playing a great season but Tata looks away. Even if he does have some of them on the lineup, hardly if not at all, will they play. Listen, a 16th finish after not making the World Cup is more than enough for me to be proud of the team. And I’m pretty sure we were the youngest team in the tournament too
Youngest indeed but youngest squad without depth isn't great for you. France isn't the youngest squad but can produce every years many stars or top players the same or less for some others big nations like Germany or England. Just a Young squad without turn over put at risk of failure
@@TurboGauchiste I’m saying it’s a positive thing because our 2018 squad was old as fuck and now that we are young our players can develop and get better for next World Cup.
GB needs Bobby Wood as a #9 he is the only pure striker who can hold the ball and score goals vs world class teams. Wood would never missed that sitter peafock missed in that Mexico game.
I don’t think you should discount Costa Rica’s side in that last match however, (please note I am Costa Rican so there will be some obvious bias in my statement) Costa Rica is known for playing with the exact same group of players from the 2014 World Cup and although that team made history, 2014 was now 8 years ago and most of those player like Bryan Ruiz are now retiring. On top of that many of our players had yellow cards so if they had gone into the match trying to score a shit ton of goals there was a high chance that at least one or two of our star players would get carded and have to miss out on our intercontinental playoff. Yes most of the players that we had on the field were young players that were giving their first cap for the country but it was a game at home a place where historically the US has never won so we came out the gate with something to prove. I just don’t think you should have counted out the Costa Rican side saying that even Vietnams team could beat them because at the end of the day the main point of everything (which is something you definitely touched on) is that the USMNT dropped the ball
USA's away record this qualification was shockingly bad, too. They only beat Honduras (and almost lost had the second half not played out the way it did), 3 draws and 3 losses. Meanwhile, Mexico, despite their form being extremely poor, came out as the best away team in the region (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses).
we're finally back, but now face a daunting task. iran, england and ukraine/wales/scotland this is a tough group, but a great way to see if we can get ourselves to the promised land
I felt like the Shane Long move in the Mexico game was a good move because the altitude of the Estadio Azteca was getting the US players. They were getting tired in the second half so Berhalter thought it was best to focus on the energy in defending because after that Pefok miss they were not getting any chances so an extra defender wasn’t a bad idea and it ended up paying off the defense kept a clean sheet
I do feel lucky for US fans. If it hadn't been for the CONCACAF 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification still prioritized goal difference over head-to-head, the US team would have been dropped into 4th place, since they beat Costa Rica 2-1 at home but get beaten 2-0 away. I'm always taught to not celebrate until I officially get things in my hands, and the US team almost gave me a perfect example for the 2nd time in a row :)))))))))))
I really hope greg is put of a job after this WC. We have the best usa generation in history but your right with the bare minimum. This team could be a machine with someone else coaching.

Listen, a 16th finish after not making the World Cup is more than enough for me to be proud of the team. And I’m pretty sure we were the youngest team in the tournament too
We were the 2nd youngest team behind Ghana. Ghana had an average age of 24.7 years and USA had an average age of 25.2.
@@TurboGauchiste also France and England have African power.
I was crying when I found out there was no more qualifiers in concacaf
Then again it still gives us a chance to try and batter you tho 😂
GB needs Bobby Wood as a #9 he is the only pure striker who can hold the ball and score goals vs world class teams.
Wood would never missed that sitter peafock missed in that Mexico game.
That description of Sid Seixeiro is extremely accurate
Good luck with your matches, you will definitely need it
Can’t wait to see his review of March Qualifiers video.
USA are exicted going into Qatar and then realizing you’re qualified in the group of death:
Honestly probably better, then we have an excuse when we leave the tournament early
Wait they already made the draws?
are they in the group of death? the other groups look much more difficult
Only england is good usa whales/scot/ukraine and iran are mid
@@yddubbud8229 they are definetely Not in the group of death. There is only one real enemy xD
Love it!
I clicked on this because I'm a Barca fan (and I love Dest) and I gotta say, this did not disappoint 🙌
Ain’t no way I heard you call Sid Sixeiro the “Canadian Stephen A”
I don’t think you should discount Costa Rica’s side in that last match however, (please note I am Costa Rican so there will be some obvious bias in my statement) Costa Rica is known for playing with the exact same group of players from the 2014 World Cup and although that team made history, 2014 was now 8 years ago and most of those player like Bryan Ruiz are now retiring.
With my Diet Coke and piece of fried chicken in hand.
a Calm "LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
idk what i'm doing here as a costa rican, but great video man, was entertained the whole way through
USA's away record this qualification was shockingly bad, too. They only beat Honduras (and almost lost had the second half not played out the way it did), 3 draws and 3 losses.
Meanwhile, Mexico, despite their form being extremely poor, came out as the best away team in the region (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses).

....And then right after saying that you're gonna talk about arrogance?
lmao
we're finally back, but now face a daunting task. iran, england and ukraine/wales/scotland
this is a tough group, but a great way to see if we can get ourselves to the promised land
and now they have drawn Iran, England and Wales/Scotland/Ukraine. They need a LOT of luck
7:51 Pep, why didn't you remember this in the Brentford match??
Puliscic would not even make England squad
Great recap.
I have an Irish guy to give me football commentary. Now I have a Vietnamese guy :)
Great video man,see you in Qatar (🇳🇱) curious to see what videos well see on the world cup
Now we qualified from the group LETS GOOOOO
Great video dude, can you make a analysis of the Armenian national team? Like u did with Vietnam, USA, Hungary and Finland.
hey when's the review of march i just discovered your channel and I'm in love with these videos
"Possession is useful when you do something with it", a useful motto for our belgians friends XD
Love your comedy bro. Liked and subscribed.
Can’t wait for the drawings today.
🏴 See you there
I felt like the Shane Long move in the Mexico game was a good move because the altitude of the Estadio Azteca was getting the US players. They were getting tired in the second half so Berhalter thought it was best to focus on the energy in defending because after that Pefok miss they were not getting any chances so an extra defender wasn’t a bad idea and it ended up paying off the defense kept a clean sheet
I thought Shane Long was Irish. Wtf?
@@anthonylong9067 Aaron Long I am made a mistake ahhh
@@anthonylong9067 Merge CONMEBOL And Concacaf NOW 🎉🎉 the only way to challenge evil UEFA
Can't wait to hear some fight and win in the group stage
I do feel lucky for US fans. If it hadn't been for the CONCACAF 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification still prioritized goal difference over head-to-head, the US team would have been dropped into 4th place, since they beat Costa Rica 2-1 at home but get beaten 2-0 away.
I'm always taught to not celebrate until I officially get things in my hands, and the US team almost gave me a perfect example for the 2nd time in a row :)))))))))))
I've been waiting for this one
Just like we say in Greece Συγχαρητήρια which in English means congratulations
I really hope greg is put of a job after this WC. We have the best usa generation in history but your right with the bare minimum. This team could be a machine with someone else coaching.
Never really thought of Sid Sixero as the Canadian Steven A Smith but it’s actually a great comparison lol
Park Hang-seo would have brought the US to World Cup unbeaten in the qualifiers
Change my mind
We should be friends in the world cup run so lets encourage both 🇨🇦and🇺🇸 during there run! (from a canadian)
no one could express my feelings better than maqwell
bro forgot to say april fools
Yunus Musah also had a close goal at the Azteca, but had a near post miss
