Thanks for inserting the map Brad at the beginning, it adds prospective to any RUclips segment to us whom have never been there. Good to see the interaction with fellow minded outdoor adventurers, that's always one of the best parts of any trip.
Just a little recommendation when it comes to water holes / bog holes. Lay off the skinny pedal until the front tires have gotten in and displaced some water, particularly deeper holes. Then give it the berries if needed to make it through. In my experience it reduces the amount of water and debris jetting right up against the radiator, fan, air intake etc. Not as much thrusted up on the windshield either. Guy with coolant issue could very well have shot a chunk of ice up there, which es no bueno. All-in-all it looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Great adventure! Love seeing Broncos and Wranglers playing well together! All that matters are memories on the trail! Great video! Always apricate you bring us along!
I JUST GOT HEAR HERE!!!! Can’t wait to use it up on those same Trails this Saturday. We’re also going to Grand Canyon in April and I’m really looking forward to the stories for that
Speaking of those little cabins, my grandfather told me that out west all those old cabins were built with rough logs just laid on the soil. They have decomposed slowly and uniformly and over time they appear to get shorter. He showed me a cabin with my great grandfather's initials that is now only about 4 feet tall, when once a six-foot man could easily walk in. Great video!
Another masterpiece Brad!!! Being from the east coast I look forward to the future videos and learn about the trails in the west. Thanks again and be safe!
I love doing the same thing in the Colorado Rockies. Tons of old mining and milling equipment still standing and interesting points of interest. Love your videos!
My wife and I have been watching your channel for a while now. Have to say, "It's our favorite channel." We love watching every video and drooling over Marco's food that he makes. We've owned several Jeeps (not as many as you have lol) but we are looking for something more comfortable for long trips. Currently we own a LJ that we've been rock crawling for the last 11 years and it's time for a change. We've thought about the Grand Cherokee but wondered if it would take us to where we want to go. We would love to see more videos with the Bronco maybe Black Bear Pass or Telluride. Until then, we'll be waiting for your next video.
I really like the idea of having fun in a Jeep and a Bronco at the same time. I hope it helps folks see that there's no rivalry, we all like the same thing and should be able to mingle just fine.
Seriously one of my favorite activities. I’m in Northern Utah. When we had a big snowstorm, the boys and I grabbed the JL and hit the county roads and had an epic adventure. My kid discovered how awesome donuts can be.
Brad, do you miss driving? You are so busy filming you don’t get to drive as much. Love the videos hope your still having fun. I really enjoy seeing Regina having a great time out there with you.
I was up there this weekend, though didn't make it out to the trails this time. Funny that that 2WD truck made it into the video. Someone had posted about it in Facebook group I'm in. The truck couldn't make it out, and someone else broke an axle trying to tow them. With the trail blocked, a lot of folks out there didn't make it back until after nightfall. Glad you were able to turn around when you did.
I was there on Saturday , leaving around 4pm heading out Polique canyon. There was an icy hill that people decided to turn around on coming or going. Just slippery and trucks sliding. I decided to put on my chains just to be safe going up it with the whole family in the truck. As I was doing that there was this 2wd Silverado in gold or brown color that was just sliding all over the road coming at us. Luckily he was able to stop. Hiss reasoning was he wanted to use momentum to get up the hill, but problem with that is there were still vehicles coming down also. He didn’t have chains either. So I was wondering if that was the same guy who might if spent the night as that hill was icy slippery. Be prepared when going out in the snow.
One of your best videos.I enjoy seeing points of interest that I’ll never get to visit myself, the snow was a bonus for sure. Hope to see more like it in the future!
I've always figured you folks run tight, nose to tail, on the trail for filming. I'm kinda surprised you were still doing it after having traction issues. I'm more in the leave plenty of following distance so you're not eating dust, the vehicle ahead won't slide back into you, and you can have more reaction time if something happens up ahead. imho, You're also in the range of experience where complacency in a field can creep in. Far from a Rookie, confident and knowledgeable because you've always been able to handle whatever's come up. Thanks for sharing the trip, and wishing you and your family all the best in '22.
The history of the old mines and structures from the mining days is always fascinating. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to this addition to the content of your awesome videos. 😁
after I retired 10 plus years ago I decided to just go around the Texas panhandle looking at the local attraction's in each little town ,It was an interesting experience and still is. Learned Lot of history about the area I live in.
Great job as usual! You and your wife passed us on the 215 this past Sunday on our way back from Truckhaven. Tried to catch you but had to get on the 91. Hope to see you out on the trails sometime!
Just got back from Big Bear this past New Year's weekend. The whole time knowing you and Lite Brite were getting ready to release videos from Big Bear. I'm sure the videos are from the previous weeks, but, I still kept my eyes open for any Trail Recon or Lite Brite E3 vehicles. My mouth was watering thinking about joining either group. Love the video!
Sounds like you and your wife have the same goal as us this year. Slow down, start a little longer and soak in an area. Just got back from a 3-week trip around Arizona, our home state.
That might be a good survey to do, snow tires!! My K02's are terrible on packed snow. No traction at all. Thanks for taking us along, nice scenic trail!!
@@TrailRecon I live in Alberta, snow turns to ice PDQ, on residential streets, atleast. No traction. And I can't really air down, in town! But I'm sure they will be great in a field full of the white stuff, with grass or dirt underneath. Just my cdn 2 cents!! Not worth much, I know!! 😎
@@conner7595 Conner in California the mountains produce what we call Sierra Cement. Our daytime temps can be above freezing and adds moisture content making it difficult to gain traction. Case and point is when a all wheel SUV pulls over and hits the cement they soon need a rescue. Skiers love Colorado snow and frown upon Sierra Cement.
Glad to see you guys got up there to enjoy some of that snow and slush. Good to see the Bronco GetFilthy! 😁 stay frosty out there, slipping and sliding on ice can be a terrible circumstance. Ask me how i know lol.
it just occurred to me, Brad. You have amassed quite a fleet. You should do a video of how you park all of your videos and how you Tetris your way through your driveway to get to the vehicle you NEED for that day/trip.
Short wheelbase Jeeps are donut machines in the snow. My CJ is almost undrivable in the snow in 2wd because the back wheels have so much traction and the wheelbase is so short, all the back end wants to do is push around to the front. Switching from 4x2 to 4x4 and back involves stopping and reversing to unload the transfer case, so because I can't switch into 4x2 when I hit pavement I had to drive in 4x2 everywhere unless it was snowing hard. I don't drive it in the snow anymore because I don't want it to get any rustier, I drive a beater Taurus wagon that's surprisingly good.
Love it im guessing bronco got wife's approval now! I remember traveling through their as a kid in my parents suburban it was alot of fun really cool brought back memories!
