    Cool video. I had a question about cleaning. I have a Howa 1500. In 6.5cm. It shoots half inch so I know it’s a shooter. How often should I clean and de-copper the barrel. When I look in the crown end I see lots of copper. The last time I de-copper the barrel was about 300 rounds ago. I had to use sweets 762 and there is still a little in the crown end. I’m not going to worry about it. It’s a factory barrel so I know there’s probably lots of imperfections. Do your custom barrels copper up as much as factory barrels? I thru a lot at ya there but I just want your take. Should I worry about all the copper in the barrel?

    • @XRING
      @XRING  4 года назад +2

      Hey Bryan, I typically don’t make it to 300 rounds before cleaning. I haven’t used Sweets in years. I would look into some Bore Tech copper remover.
      Typically, custom barrels don’t seem to hold the copper that production barrels do.

    That was some good shooting guys. I have 2 questions.
    1) do you really have that much land to shoot 500yds or is that a public or private range?
    2) what's the difference between 6.5 Creedmor and the 6.5 Grendal?
    I know where the Creedmore go it's name as a matter of fact there use to be a mental hospital in Creefmore, NY when I was about 8 or 9 the day camp I went to took us on trips to a public park similar to any park you would go to to have picnics or play softball. Ah the days of our youth huh.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  4 года назад +2

      LOL! It is a private range. The 6.5 Grendel is based off of a 7.62x39 case. Just think, really short 6.5 Creedmoor that works well in gas guns. 😂

    Can you please test the new magtech 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. It's inexpensive and hopefully will work as good as sellier & bellot which has been seen with a SD of 10. Magtech bullets are longer and pointier than the round nose of S&B & use CBC Brass. They are the same price 65 cents a round. This could get more people shooting

    X-RING really love the content. I have not committed to 6CM or 6.5CM yet, I want to be able to spot my own misses/hits so recoil is important. Only thing holding me back on 6CM is barrel life. How significant is the recoil difference between 6.5 and 6? Would rather spot my own as primary benefit I'm looking for.

      I have some friends with over 2500 rounds out of their 6mm Creeds and they are about at the end of their barrel life.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  4 года назад +1

      Great question Troy. I tried that with two 6.5CR gas guns. They are very accurate but they are never going to be a bolt gun. It really depends on what size targets you intend to engage.

  • @johnsimonelli9988
    @johnsimonelli9988 4 года назад

    Why bother cleaning all the copper out. There are a lot of guys that never clean the copper out of the barrel, me being one of them and the accuracy is always great. Not complaining just asking.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  4 года назад

      Great question John. Sooner or later your accuracy will diminish with too much copper fouling. The longer you wait the longer it takes to remove. If it’s just shooting at steels and plinking it’s no big deal. However, for people trying to shoot the smallest group sizes possible it does matter. Hope this answers the question.
