This vlog shows why you guys are so entertaining and lovely to watch. Just a straightforward content about hire boats and questions people have, and you make it so, interesting, funny and insightful. Love your shows, and the banter.
Thank you for that, Andy. Appreciate it 🙏❤️
It would be the vacation with the "100% seaview" for me. I would see water all the time - hanging over the railling.
So for me it's wonderful, that you share all those georgeous views!
Sounds great!
Nno.... Hanging over the reiling... 🤢
When I went to Scotland on a bus tour many years ago, we stopped for a photo-op with the “Welcome to Scotland” sign. Literally, on the English side it was sunny with blue skies and on the Scottish side.....rain.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 That sounds about right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The funniest "Welcome to" sign I've seen was in the Pyrenees. It was sideways to the road, so that it could point to both France and Spain. Someone had spray painted it all out, so it now said Catalunya, both ways.
On the Ireland/NI border, for the sake of political tensions, the signs merely say "speed limits in miles per hour" or "speed limits in km/h", nothing more. No mention of an international border.
I was so tickled at the return of, "you can't say that," I nearly had a hernia AND a litter of kittens!
OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You two look more relaxed and happy after doing the Caledonian canal
We've fallen in love with Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴
@@FoxesAfloat Scotland has fallen in love with you two
Y'all are such a great pair of presenters. Apart from your obvious love for one another, y'all are just a natural presenter pair. Colin delivering the play-by-play, and Shaun providing the color commentary. Just one more aspect of y'all's production that makes your vlogs so great.
Thank you so much, Andy x
As a yachtsman I can give you useful tips for if your boat breaks down in the middle of a loch. You need to send a distress signal. Here are two of the signals you can use at sea. First, fly your Union Jack upside down. That one may be a bit subtle so you could also set fire to a barrel of tar on the fo’csle. If these official signals are a bit too dramatic you could always get your mobile phone out . . .
Really loved these Scottishvlogs - looking forward to the next ones!
👍
Have to say, I've thoroughly enjoyed this wee series on the Caledonian and can't wait for the next adventure on another boat!
Thank you, Heath. Glad you enjoyed it xxx
Will you come for a walk in the moonlight, Mary?
Ach, no, Jock.
What’s the matter, Mary, is it the gleam in my ee putting you off?
Ach, no Jock, it’s the tilt in your kilt!
Enjoy, and how about a tartan vest for Otis?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish your vlogs were twice as long. I am always so happy when I see one posted and sad when it's over. Thanks for keeping me company.love you both and Otis too XOXOX
Awww thank you, Marjorie xxx
Great information, delivered with humour. On a trip to Eilean Donan castle in the Highlands, the tour guide, who was wearing a kilt, said it kept him a lot warmer than the uniform he'd previously worn.
WOW 🤩
I just turned the calendar over to December (I know it's late, but...), anyway, I wanted to tell you that your picture of Dillon for December was a bit sad because I lost my Buddy, my friend, this year so it was appropriate that I find the time to think about both Dillon and Buddy at this happy time of year. They did their job so well of being a pleasure, a love, always there when you needed them. Thank you for beautiful, remembered, wonderful beings. And for you having the courage to find your new friend Otis.
Awwww no, so sorry ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your lovely story about bonnie Scotland. I loved it all the way till the end, and what a great promotion for this wonderfull country.
Glad you enjoyed it, not finished with Scotland just yet 🏴🏴🏴
@@FoxesAfloat So now its time for the Forth and Clyde canal and the Union canal?? If so, I am looking forward seeing you both in the Falkirk Wheel. Done it myself, its amazing!
I visited Scotland and Loch Ness in April and managed to get sunburn...
I'll definitely keep the canal in mind for the next Scotland visit
👍🏻🏴
You should try the River Shannon. Might take a bit longer than a week.
👍👍👍👍👍
So good to hear about the basics of travelling the Caledonian. …..and the added humour makes it all the more enjoyable.
Thanks Jane!
Thankyou,I've wanted to do this adventure for years . I definitely feel confident enough to do it now ☺️
Enjoy every moment!
Beautiful trip in Scotland. Thank you for sharing it. 🤗
You’re welcome ☺️
Your series is wonderful and beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
It sounds as though you have had a great time in Scotland thank you for showing such amazing scenery
Had a fab time and it's not over yet xx
Loved your Scottish canal journey .. looking forward to your new adventures on your boat xx
Thanks so much! 😊 Load more to come xx
I love your videos of your trip to the Caledonian canal. You 2 guys are a crack up! 😂 keep up the good work. Your videos are beautiful! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip.
Thank you so much, Michael x
Been a lovely series, really enjoyed it.
So glad you enjoyed it xx
We used Caley Cruisers - highly recommended. Done it twice. Boats are stunning. When we did it Urquhart Bay was £10 for overnight stay but all other moorings were free. Caley give you a map that indicates time to travel and local eateries, taxi details, etc. Best holiday ever 👍
Yeah, we've heard they are good xx
My brother did an Outward Bound course in Scotland. They had a Canadian amongst them who'd never heard of a haggis. They convinced him it was a small animal that lived on the side of a hill and only went round one way as the legs on one side of it was shorter than the other. When they were strung out along the trail someone up front would shout HAGGIS! and the Canadian would come running up from the rear just to get a look at it. Poor bugger never did see one.
We have a few viewers that think Haggis is a real animal 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for your short sojourn in the locks of Scotland, as many may say, check your surname you may find there’s a kilt that’s related plus a full kilt is 8 yards long. Yes Scotland is a great place with plenty of open spaces as for the weather as you say pot luck once again thanks to both you for sharing your time in Scotland
Thanks Richard 👍🏻🏴
@@FoxesAfloat you both are welcome x
We’ve been talking about taking a trip across the pond for another trip to Scotland. This would be such an awesome way to see it from such a different perspective. You two are a bad influence on me!❤️
YAYYY Go on and get it booked ❤️❤️🏴🏴🏴
You’ve got to do it !!!
This was another informative episode with a lot of Shaun chatting (how did he do it?). Your journey in Scotland and the Caledonian was a great series. I look forward to see you doing the Highland fling!
Glad you enjoyed it, Noel xx
Good Morning! This is the best way to start my weekend! I do find that if I need a pick me up during the week I go back to my favorites to get me through! You’re both very special and I’m glad I found you. Blessings to you both and stay safe! Keep smiling!
Good morning! awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Excellent set of videos, really enjoyed watching them. I stay very close to Banavie so know the canal fairly well and always good to see it get publicity.
If yous come back a rail hunt round Fort Augustus might turn up some history that could interest you. There was a railway swing bridge there too for the railway which ran down to the pier there. The railway ran from Spean Bridge to Fort Augustus but closed way back before Beeching had a chance.
Awesome, thank you!
Love to see you two (and Otis of course) rent a boat in Southern France and go thru their canal system. Lots of great wine for Sean!
Never say never xxx
@@FoxesAfloat and I have to say that I love the historical descriptions that you provide of the various sites you pass by. As with the UK, there are a tremendous amount of history in France. I look forward to learning from you two!
I have been watching your vlogs now for a long time every single week. Found you during the lockdown in the USA. I have to say that in this video you both seem happier than I have ever witnessed either of you to be. You both were so very relaxed and it was visible on your faces and in your voices. I think you should reconsider your futures and perhaps stay in Scotland were you seem to have so much peace. I know that is easier said than done but this trip was really wonderful for you both. Congrats.
We have fallen very in love with this country ❤️🙏
As usual, your video was lovely, with lots of answers on your cruise in the Caledonian Canal. The scenery was breath-taking! I’m used to Canadian lakes, so the Lochs seemed a lovely size to me! Glad you really enjoyed your experiences, and now you have joined we kilt wearers! Hurray - they are so comfortable!
Glad you enjoyed it, Pamela xxx
Another great vlog full of humour and excellent information. Thanks for this.
Our pleasure!
Awesome vlog! Can’t wait to start my driving lessons 😱😱 and also I’ve got an apprenticeship with plumbing 😱
Alfie that is awesome, Plumbing is a great trade. We used to be electricians and have worked with many plumbers. Good luck with the driving lessons, mate. You'll smash it I'm sure ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you guys for sharing this wonderful trip with us. Scotland is absolutely gorgeous.
You';re right, we've fallen in love with this country 🏴🏴🏴
Every episode I watch of you two. I always have a big smile on my face. You both make my Friday
If you're smiling, we're smiling xx
As always very informative and great to see Sir Ottis enjoying the cruiser.
Otis is loving it xx
We had a bus tour guide in Nova Scotia, Canada who wore a kilt. He explained to us, as he stood at the door with one foot up on the bus steps, that he was glad this was the last tour of the season and he was going inside to his carpentry winter job, because it was getting cold. I can imagine you guys dancing the fling in your new kilts. Enjoy.
No dancing. I never said we’d dance 🤣
I’ve just watch the amazingly fabulous professionally done beautifully viewed and listen to opening. Thanks, Colin! Shaun is right, it just were pretty!
Wow, thank you!
So, you're saying it's no the size that matters, it's ho ya lift the kilt. Um... This has been a great adventure on the lochs! Thank you for the visit and for dragging us along.
You’re welcome 😉
Beautiful country.. Thanks for taking us along..God bless.. Be safe🇺🇸🌹❤️
This place is amazing xxx
Thank you, guys! Adding the Caledonian Canal to The List. Can't wait. :)
Awesome 😎
As always - excellent! Scotland is absolutely beautiful! Thank you
It really is! Thank you xx
Great vlog! I've been looking forward to this for a week and you did not disappoint, thank you. OK, my question is: seeing the wine glasses unprotected on the shelf, I was surprised they weren't better protected from falling, especially when you were doing wheelies and whirlies and things (oh, so much fun wasn't it!). Hopefully you put them in a safer place?
They were pretty safe xx
Finally got to finish the entire vlog. Hooray! Lots of information for those lucky enough to even think about getting to take such a holiday trip. It was great to see you guys enjoying telling everything you learned and seeing those bits of video with sweet Otis mesmerized by the countryside as y’all tootled along on the Caledonian!
You should think about doing the trip if you can, it's an amazing part of the world xx
Another Friday; another excellent Vlog… Great to have some insight into your Caledonian Canal adventure. Thank you; stay safe.
Thank you! You too!
Thank you very much for calming many first timers.
👍👍👍❤️
Absolutely loved the vlogs from this trip guys! It was brilliant and this was a great précis of your trials and tribulations! Thanks for making our Friday evening's do enjoyable! 👌👍
Glad you enjoyed the Caledonian xx
Skipper Otis, that's THE image! A vlog as professional and fun as always. Thank you, guys.
Yeah, my favourite too ❤️🐾
Having been on several large cruise liners and experienced ‘problems’ including being shipwrecked, the Caledonian seems to be a safer option for us.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful, Thank you so much for taking us on your journey. Another canal on the to do list.xx
Please do!
Wonderful, practical info. Thanks so much. Definitely, the narrow boats have more character, but it was obvious that Otis enjoyed the space. Another hired boat for the next step? can’t wait! Thanks gents!
Otis loved it 😍
I so enjoy your videos. As a single granny, I only wish I could find a traveling company to share this adventure. Thank you for “taking” me along! ❤️❤️
Glad you like them! I'm sure you must have someone to take with you xxxx
You guys always make me laugh! Thanks
You're welcome xx
Great advert for Scotland, it’s canals and particularly La Boat. Make sure you buy a heavyweight sporran. Regards from Solent Coast. AJ
Thanks for the tip! 🤣
Oh, I wish🙋🏼♀️. Looking forward to the next part of the adventure.🥰
Thank you 🙏
Great video with very interesting information, thank you for sharing.!
You’re welcome, Richard xx
I love the fact that you guys include the smaller cozy stops as well. The tip about having Tesco delivery set up to the boat yard is genius. Hints like that make the trip so much easier. Thank you
enjoyed your Scottish adventure........
Thank you, Jon 🙏❤️🏴
Trust me guys.....I have a kilt (the proper heavy weight one)which I've worn on numerous occasions and when the wind picks up you definitely know about it if you're wearing it traditionally lol!! Fantastic vlog with great info. Can't wait for next one. X
Looking forward to receiving ours xx

I have been binging these vids. As a photographer Im loving the incredible images you have captured. I love your editing style. What makes it is the sheer joy that pours out of you both. The histories your sharing are also very interesting. Thank you for this.
Awesome, thank you so much ❤️

I cannot believe you'd forget to buy a kilt for Otis - worn in the traditional way of course!🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful summary of some of the key things to know for those planning a similar trip, and as ever informative and well delivered. Glad you’ve enjoyed part 1 of the adventures beyond Silver Fox the First, can’t wait to see where you are headed next! Thank you for another spot of sunshine and laughter on a Friday afternoon :)
Glad you enjoyed this first bit, Maudie xx

Great Vlog as always. Might be fun to see Otis in a Kilt?
I can't see that ending well 🤣🤣
Entertaining and informative. Also a great advert😜

Hope you're going to do a kilt video, you're going to look braw 🤗🤗🤗 Greetings from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀️ Lisa
You'll definitely see our kilts xx
@@FoxesAfloat 🤗🤗🤗
Colin and Shaun (and Otis), what a wonderful series you produced for us, the Caledonian Canal looked great! It reminded me more of the canal cruising I’m used to (in Canada). If we ever get over for a visit, I’ll definitely consider a hire boat (ideally a narrow boat and a cruiser).
Keep up the great work! Many of us really enjoy the scenery, the history and the laughs you provide us! I always look forward to Friday!
Awesome, thank you so much, Mike 👍🙏❤️🏴🐾
Again guys beyond epic, so professionally put together and executed, not to mention the entertainment value awesome. Can’t wait for the next set. All the very best guys, stay safe & healthy. 😘 😘
Awww thank you Amanda-Jayne. Always love reading your comments ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Always love your videos.

Thanks for taking me to Scotland. Loved the trip!
Glad you enjoyed it
I have my family tartan when I visited London years ago. So, we I come to visit we can wear our Kilts together! We can re-enact Braveheart! I also have one from Utilikilt (from Seattle) that can hold 6 cans of beer!
WOW! 6 cans of beer 😳🤣
@@FoxesAfloat They were the 12oz kind. Could be cans of Coke or maybe two bottles of wine. Though, not good for walking around with...;)
absolutely loved the Caledonial Canal videos ... wonderful and a great job ... all the thumbs up to them 👍
Thank you 🙏

Excellent as usual. Thought you were going on Falkirk wheel or is that next time. As regular visitors to Scotland we can confirm changes in weather within a day. Our best on the Waverley thick mist in the sound, diverted to Tobermory $) degrees and a chemist shop inundated with people buying suntan cream. Glad you enjoyed the trip
All that is to come xx
hi lads..as an Aussie I've been to Scotland four times..ranging from late May to July...and I can tell you, summer temps in Scotland are only a few degrees warmer than winter back home in Melbourne..you've got to dress in layers because you're either putting it on or taking it off, the layers that is..I think on my last trip in 2017 I actually had days where I was able to strip to a cami/singlet, but most days were spent in long sleeves...and it is really true, the first sign of sun and a Scotsman WILL get his kit off..chuckle...it may only be around 17*c but that's enough to bare one's chest...I miss travelling to Scotland AND England..oh, and Wales...beautiful country there..I just miss visiting the UK period...I've been as far south as Lands End in Cornwall and all the way north to Kirkwall in the Orkney isles..as far west as the west coast of The Isle of Harris and as far east as Aberdeen...I would like to do the 500 in the north/west of Scotland, but I doubt that'll happen..so where are you off to next boys..??
Awesome 😎
Thanks guys🙂 I enjoyed your visit to the Caldonian Canal and looking forward to your next adventure. Scotland is so beautiful truly God's country. Safe travels 🙂🙂🙂
We love this country 🏴
Brilliant guys. I have just booked for next October . This is so helpful.
Nice one. Have the BEST time 👍🏻
Love wearing a kilt! Hugs to you both! 💙💚💙
Never worn one, so looking forward to it xx
I have several utilikilts and one traditional kilt. Have worn them firvten years, even in winter...xx
Just a perfect Q and A loved it
Glad you enjoyed it, Albert x
The Caledonian Canal looks amazing. When we were up there - we never did get around to visiting that canal (so we will have to rectify that). We did some other things which you'll be doing in upcoming vlogs though - so I look forward to seeing that. I am glad to hear about the great tutelage from LeBoat - it really does make a difference.
You have to do the Caledonian at some point, Justine. It’s amazing 😻
Thank you Boys, I did this in 2015. It was fabulous and watching your videos have brought back some lovely memories.
Wonderful!
You two are some of my favourite people! Love to see your vlogs and a very special hug and kiss for Otis. He is such a sweetie. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the information and entertinment you give to us each week. I can hardy wait to see your new narrowboat home. Are you going to give us an insight into the building of it? I hope so as it is fascinating to see one being built along with the talented experts that put it together. Thank you and virtual hugs from Canada.
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I go on holiday with Hoseasons with my children and now my grandchildren exploring the canals and NorfolkBroads on their hire boats always so helpful
Thank you, Suzanne xxx
Lovely close to the series which brought back memories of so many family holidays in the area. Excellent sound despite the windy conditions, very professional
Many thanks!
As a true landlubber and someone who gets seasick in a puddle, I'm not sure that would be for me. But I did enjoy the whole series from Scotland. Thank you so much for sharing your trip. All the best. Love Stephen 🦼
