When I was a kid Everytime I saw a picture or a movie set in the UK. It was always raining and foggy. But now Everytime I tune in to your show or any other British tv program it always seems sunny and beautiful . I'm 57 so I'm going back to the late 60 s , this may be a stupid question but tell what gives.
We just choose to film when it's sunny 👍🏻
The British/Irish archipelago is set at the meeting place of two main weather systems, which gives a lot of variable weather. One from Siberia, that brings the winter cold as the wind comes towards us before turning south through the Netherlands and France. Glad it stops as we don't get a lot of sub zero temperatures, especially on the Irish side.
The other comes from the Gulf of Mexico, up the east coast of America and across the North Atlantic. We're on a similar latitude to Canada but the Gulf stream in the ocean keeps us nicely warm most of the time. Brings lots of rain with it which is what we complain about.
The old film industry used the atmospheric vibes the rain brings. Like the lads said, now we run outside to make the most of 5 minutes sunshine.
Love the boat, inside and out. My only change would be bright cushions and bedding for my tastes. Perfect. I notice you haven't bothered putting art on the walls. Yes, lovely views are better, but you can't see them well after dark.

We all agree with Pegleg. Many years ago i was a world history teacher and i just love your historical linformation . My field of intensive study was Asia, Africa,Middleast, Central and south America..the only part of U.K.history that i covered was the rise of democracy and colonization...so this gives me more "personal " knowledge of the history of the island. I look forward to the segment that you talk about the people and industry.

Happy anniversary! We are glued my husband and two children. The ups and downs of life afloat. I grew up around many canals (open and disused) and my husband has ended up working for Scottish canals. This narrowboat is just lovely. For years I've watched so many videos about narrowboat living on u tube. There are only 2 others besides this one that I fell in love with though. The two filming are a really great couple ( they were fun to listen to because of their humor). I enjoyed the sharing of their home with us.

I was helping a friend today who is doing a van conversion (putting in windows) while we chatted about the fact that I also love the idea of a cruising the canals lifestyle.
