    This week, steamed grilled clams in butter garlic sauce on a charcoal grill. We used a Big Green Egg but you can do this on any charcoal grill or even...gasp... a gas grill. Grilling clams is a very easy process and the butter, garlic, shallot and wine sauce is a snap to throw together.

      I’m a 12 year old Chef, I have a older gentleman who requested clams. I found your video (check out mine) but what else could I use instead of wine for the sauce? My dad won’t let me cook with alcohol…

      @@chefblakesbellybustinbarbe2009 hi Chef! They make alcohol free white wine that your Dad may let you use. If not, chicken broth will work or a 50/50 mix of white wine vinegar and water.

    Reminds me of when I was a kid in the 1960's and we'd go to New York to visit our relatives. I remember sitting on the back porch with my Grandfather eating steamed clams with a butter garlic sauce. I'd then get the leftover sauce and drink it from a cup! Yummmmm

    What is the green you sprinkled on?

      Just some chopped parsley for some more color. It's great to put some cilantro or other chopped fresh herbs in the butter sauce when you make it too.

    We call them Quahogs here on Cape Cod, depending on size they are little necks or Cherry Stones.

    No sand inside? I was
    always told to soak in water with cornmeal to get them to clean out sand

      It is similar to the way you burp Tupperware. The Egg makes such a solid seal that opening it too quickly will cause a fire ball which has claimed many an arm hair in its time....

    Clams and oysters are a GREAT food 4 alcoholics.
    I know. They don't fill you up and you still feel like drinking.

    Don't forget to mention that if you have high cholesterol this is a good way to have a coronary. You do not need all that butter how about deluding it with Olive oil ?
    Also how about adding just a little bit of red Thai chili sauce to the broth?

      Hi George, there is always a full recipe with all of the recipe and ingredients in the video description. We used chardonnay for that and btw, that's not an ignorant question at all. Its a great question.
