Never mind guys I got the hang of doing it but still it will help others cause I have yet to see one on YT. Everyone’s grabbing pallets from the floor.

@@SebastianJackson-c6b pretty easy when you get the hang of it. The job I was at, the racks were no taller than 3 high. Just like you would when you are driving around on the hilo normally, make sure your forks are flat before taking something from the top or anywhere else. Line your hilo and forks up directly in front of what you’re trying to get. Slow and steady wins the race. Focus and drown out the bad thoughts.
When getting something from the top the thing for me was it was always a bit higher than I would assume and put my forks at so if you think you are lined up with the pallet, just raise your forks up a tad bit more then slowly drive forward to get the pallet so you can get idea if you need to raise them lower or higher or if you are fine.
When you do successfully have your forks in the pallet at the top. Raise the pallet. Eyeball it. See you if you can clearly retrieve it or need to make adjustments like shifting it to the right or left a little because it may be too close to another pallet. Once either or is done you just tilt the pallet back to you a little to secure it. That’s a big helper. Sometimes all you have to do is just go into a pallet and tilt back and you’re good to go.
The main thing that helped me is practicing in a dunnage or inventory area when I had time. Retrieving pallets from the floor and lower rack made me more comfortable with the top. And if I didn’t feel comfortable getting something I would ask someone else. That doesn’t last long at all though because eventually you’ll have to do things yourself.
      Best luck to you
