11K views and only 80 likes so far? This is the best FX3 tutorial I have seen, yet! I ordered mine on April 28, received it almost 20 days later, am a beginner videographer/photographer, and have been watching videos every day on this camera since early April. There are some good videos out there, but this one is so direct, thorough, and practical. I felt like I bought way too much camera for my skill level, at first, but now I’m stoked to dive in deeper and build up with the FX3. Thanks!
Wow, thanks! It's really hard to get this camera these days, and "most" people that get it already know the basics. So that is why I think the video is not doing as well as my other guides... However, in the years to come I hope this video helps many a people like yourself :) All the best, Jay
I've just got the FX30. This guide is encyclopedic, and has helped me to get started. Thanks for the huge amount of effort and research that you must have put into this. I've bookmarked it, and will no doubt return to it time and again in the future. Appreciated, thanks again.

Thanks for this. It was an amazing Tutorial and I learnt so much before investing in an FX3. Can I ask a really stupid basic question but I can't find a clear answer for it anywhere. The 2 stereo mics you showed. That is to record Audio right? All FX3 videos talk about the XLR and mic jack to record audio but no one has talked about being able to and the quality of the in camera mic. I want to buy this to travel to film my adventures but don't want to have external accessories connected to it. So can you record audio directly into the body and if so is it decent? Just asking as I know the FX6 doesn't record audio and needs external mics. Thanks!
Yes the camera does have a built in mic, but it is not good compared to even a small external mic. This is a professional grade camera, so it's expected to use professional grade audio as well. That does not mean you have to though of course...

Hello, great video 🎉 I have 2 questions, can I use batteries from other Sony cameras in the fx3 or just from the specific series, what does it come with? And to connect the fx3 to power, what do I need?
Yes you can use the NP-FZ100 battery geni.us/1EoFp0 in any camera that takes one. Pretty much all of the full frame Sony cameras these days use the FZ100 Battery. As far as powering the camera goes I use this affordable after market unit: geni.us/KfnlFY As far as USB PD Power goes, I've been using this charger: geni.us/Y9ByFn and this 10 foot cable so I can move the camera around wherever I want in the studio: geni.us/G3c9s1
I got in the USA from Lens Rentals... I would recommend Amazon or BHPhoto geni.us/NiwL so you get a USA version of the camera. Otherwise language and region issues might be a pain to deal with...

Great video Jason really helpful , as I’ve just recently purchased the FX3 I’m having trouble setting my camera to sLog 3 …do you have any advice … thank you
Awesome to hear and I don't have a video covering Slog3 in detail, but my friend Josh does and he did a really excellent job here: ruclips.net/video/Z4Ic19eP36Y/видео.html Now depending on the firmware version of your camera you might want to watch his newer video he just made here: ruclips.net/video/fBNOwUaOE84/видео.html
@@Jason_Hermann thank you so much, I’ve been stressing over this issue for a couple of weeks, watched a-lot of vids, like I said your video helped me so much setting my camera up and becoming familiar with it ( I had upgrade from a A7iii and thought it would all be quite the same hahha) and as my firmware was updated out the box I was stuck with the sLog 3 issue … but thanks to you for sending me over to Josh Sattin …coz I’ve been watching the video all day…and think I might start to enjoy myself a little… again thank you so much Ma man… good luck to ya 💪💪👊
Great job. Thanks!
You are very welcome :)
Thank you :) that was great
Glad you enjoyed it!
For anyone having trouble following this video for touch tracking (17:05): After upgrading firmware, I had to enable touch tracking (17:05) instead of touch focus by going to Menu -> Setup -> Touch function in shooting -> Touch Tracking
Thank you Matthew 👊
@@Jason_Hermann No thank you for helping me with this camera - excellent work.
