Dear Beloved Brother Halverson, your gift is the insights and understanding that you have earned over the years of sacrifice to learn the scriptures and your ability and personality with which you share your knowledge and understanding. Please never feel like you have to apologize for deep diving into that gift. It is God given and we are blessed to be the grateful recipients of it.

Thanks for unfolding Isaiah & those teachings. his revelations, prophecies & instructions.
Isaiah has become alive, so as you continue to do verse by verse, we will become more in touch with this mountain of a man in the Lord. Even, now that the fact that the dead sea scrolls were preserved means that much more....for Isaiah's writings to shine forth, along with Nephi placing them in the forefront of the books of Nephi, as you are able to speak about the layer cake of Isaiah.
So, since the Lord has placed Isaiah's writings in so many places, we should take hold of them......
    Thanks, once again, Brother Jared.

I apologize for those who are dealing with a lack of gratitude. I am amazed at the amount of time and sacrifice you give us and am grateful for it. Some weeks I can't listen to it all, but I always get in some. I was doing a deep study of the allegory of the olive tree last year and thought to look for old episodes from you, sure that you would have lots of info. They were there, but oh, you have advanced so far since then, I'm guessing they were some of the very first episodes you did. I learned a great deal (as was my hope), sometimes it just takes that one nugget of information to start the dominoes falling your mind of that relates to this to that to this and so on. I always listen to your podcast, even if I don't always have enough time to make it all the way through and I am so grateful to know that later, should I have time, I can go back. Thank you!

We saints in Lahaina are so encouraged to witness the blessings coming out of the destruction of our community by the August fires. A sister in our Sunday School class last week told about how her life has changed for the better, and now thinks of her own history as before the fire and after, even describing her life since then as "sweet!"
AND the well known and beloved banyan tree in the heart of Front Street is now showing new growth! Very encouraging.

@@cherylclark8817 Aloha Cheryl! We have a 9am sacrament only/testimony meeting for visitors/tourists 🙂 and our Lahaina ward meets at 10:30am. After the fires we split the two groups once we could meet in the building again to lessen the workload on the ward. It was like a Stake Conference every Sunday, with chairs filled all the way to the back of the cultural hall! Now just the visitors meeting is often filled to the back! I don't know how we managed to meet all together before...
Please do come and join us!

Thanks for making the effort. I am just happy you make any videos. I like reading scriptures quickly and all 5 books every day and I like reading slowly or targeting in on specific scriptures.
I got a nice response this past BOOK OF MORMON and Bible reading time, where another reader said they saw the same thing in the spirit about the Jaredites as I was noting in my electronic scriptures. Several people have the same revelation about the matter and it is interesting. Reading and studying more than one way is important and your way with your self sharing is exceptionally important and nice. Thank you, Jared.

Anyway, there are so many members that are very judgmental. You’d think that 1st Christians as a whole would be nonjudgmental let alone us. We know the plan of salvation yet omg. Pick on folks for their lack of wealth and can’t afford what they deem proper church attire and on from there.

One of the interpretations that I like is where the B/branch growing out of the roots applies to He, and those, to whom the priesthood rightly belongs. The Savior gives to those who follow Him the same Melchizedek priesthood that He Himself holds. To me, this makes more sense than seeing the whole verse about Joseph Smith, and I think it works better in the chiasm as well. I can't imagine who in the world would be complaining about this magnificent podcast. I think about how long I've been reading and studying the Book of Mormon, and compare it to Dr. Halverson, and I'm blown away when I see the difference in his understanding and mine. When my husband and I were young, we even went to an all-day Isaiah convention in Irvine, CA and learned a ton, and I'm still blown away. Hurrah for Unshaken! So glad my best friend recommended it to me.

Okay...I have been brought to genuine tears before your content even started, by your announcing the special video that you will be posting this weekend. To me, it validated my angst and focus for so long, that it is SO hard to be wisely operating between the laws of God and the love of mankind... particularly when family is in the latter camp. Trying to set policy for a new family gathering spot, where we want to feel the spirit, and finding the navigating of those policies filled with potential offensive reaction... but also for additional closeness in sharing in loving communication how difficult these decisions are to wrestle with. Love my children, love God and His laws...Looking forward to this presentation which will without doubt help me navigate these hard issues. (and of course love every moment of your edifying, comforting, & sound weekly videos! thank you!!)

I have also come to know that the Lord works through you… and that won’t change regardless of the length of the video, because I have also learned that regardless of length, if prompted, you will always expound upon those things that are needed. ❤
So thank you… for all you do. I don’t feel slighted at all. Only greatly blessed by the giving of your time and love.
When you explained paradoxes while we were studying Paul, I knew that was for me. I had commented on a previous video saying ”oh if I had two hours with you, what a blessing that would be for me.” Then you explained contraries in one of the next videos. The spirit testified that that was for me and I had been blessed. ❤Thank you.

When you described....Joseph Smith coming from Jesus Christ, followed by Jesus Crist leading to Joseph Smith. This makes perfect sense as Jesus Christ came to the earth to establish the church. Joseph Smith came after to restore it. Then Joseph Smith will play some role in ushering in Jesus Christ for the 2nd coming and the image comes full circle. It's beautiful❤

Oh my gosh! Lots of thoughts today. When you were discussing the triumphal entry of Jesus, my mind went to the panic those in charge in Jerusalem (Sadducees) must have felt because the people were accepting their true King. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings and the madness and inability of the Steward of Gondor to relinquish his hold on the throne. It's an interesting parallel to contemplate 🙂

A Bitern is a bird of the heron family that lives in the tall rushes of swampy land. It stands up stock straight and perfectly still with it's head pointing directly to the sky, thus making itself look as close to a reed as possible.. It is VERY hard to find and rarely seen because of it's wonderful camouflage. I found Isiah's reference to the bitern quite thought provoking, especially in the context that it is written in, solitary, hidden, almost as if it is afraid to be seen or found, but it's beak points straight up to the heavens yet it's eyes look down to earth (to catch the frogs and little fish it feeds on). And thanks for telling me what a cockarice is.. I didn't know what that was. Now I do and that makes that image of a tiny child playing on the cockatrice's den makes me understand those verses and symbols much more.
There is soooo much to learn in the scriptures.
Thanks Brother Halverson for untying so many knots of ignorance and misunderstanding. Learning is soo much fun, and I have certainly learned a ton of things from you.. Bless you and your family for sharing so much time and knowledge with us out there all across the world ❤

Jared, I love your wonderful insights - thank you! But I have one for you -- the bittern in Isaiah 24:22 is a large wading bird in the heron group. We have them here in Utah, the American bitterns They live in swampy places and are very secretive. 🙂

Brother Halverson, I believe that your students (us) have wished, prayed, hoped and silently knew you couldn’t stop chapters (feet) short of finishing a marathon🤣.
It’s not in your celestial DNA to stop short of completion😉.

Brother Halverson, my son left on his mission a couple of weeks ago, and he asked me if I could find a transcript of your videos that he can use alongside his scripture reading. I have been sharing some of your insights during family scripture study over the last year, and he is missing that! I have looked, but have not found one. Is that something that is available?

I’ve always hated that story of JD and the rattler. I would have said, “Brother Joseph, I’m trying to be like Jesus, he has power to bruise my heel, I’m gonna crush his head!”

It sounds to me that 1. Joseph is springing from Jesus and 2. Jesus is coming in the Millenial time from the restored church through Joseph.
