Soooo Christians, we are Evangelists afterall - we know Jesus Christ and have received the Spirit of God. We tend to think of conversion as a religious undertaking and not a commitment to the Savior and His teachings. This is a great lesson of how the Spirit and conversion can take MANY FORMS to many different people in many different cultures throughout time.
01:11:16 in Alma ch. 22, vs. 18: ”I will give all my sins to know thee,” these are my favorite words in the ENTIRE Book of Mormon. Such a baring of the soul, such openness.
Brother Halverson as I was reading this morning in Alma 34, I felt as though I understood that Christ’s Atonement was an “ordinance” not unlike the ordinances we do in the Temple vicariously for those that have graduated from this life. Please give me your thoughts. I’ve prayed to know and you came into my mind so I’m asking you. Thank you

Jared, I am not sure if you have realized, but Blaise had a faith crisis of his own. He lost his faith and even called the Catholic church a cult, only later to come back to write those beautiful words! WOW. We are not that different now then they were then. Having started my mission in Rouen where her was born, his note struck my heart profoundly.

Alma 19:13 says, "For as sure as thou livest, behold, I have seen my Redeemer; and he
shall come forth, and be born of a woman, and he shall redeem all mankind who believe
on his name".
The Plan of Salvation defines the telestial and terrestrial inhabitants as those who
did not repent and those who rejected the gospel. Since they did not believe on his
name, what does it mean that they are not redeemed?

I thought it interesting that the king’s first response was to offer his daughter in marriage, which would have meant a high status.
When he refused, the king sent him to probable certain death.
He didn’t know what to make of him.
I think Ammon being sent to tend the flocks of the King was a punishment. You've got a crown prince refusing a political marriage, the King is like okay, lets just get rid of this weirdo in a way that "absolves" him of guilt. His astonishment makes more sense when Ammon comes back unharmed.
