This always makes me think of the opening of Case 2, when Ryuunosuke wakes up and finds out that Asougi's been murdered... I think this song captures the emotions running through his head perfectly.

Nope. Asougi didn't teach Naruhodo anything. All he ever said was "belief is our greatest weapon". Naruhodo had to learn about law by himself on the ship with the help of Susato. And he learned about investigations and deductions with Sherlock Holmes.

Solid Core Investigation theme. I prefer others to this, but this one stands out enough to make it rather memorable.
Which one?
I prefer Core 2001 and Core 2016 (America) to this one, the former feeling more impactful and the latter having a superb mix of suspense and urgency.

that first tone at the very beginning of this theme represents the feeling like you either figured everything out or are learning much information , unlike the one from PW ( which was also very good ) is more like you've been investigating for hours and are neet deep into it
