Oh my goodness! This soundtrack is the most underrated thing in all gaming!
i would wanna argue against him but DAMM LEGS!!! x3

“God I wish I was the desk”

the music for this game is nothing short of amazing, and this particular theme is a good example of that
Wishing this played when he crossed his eyes XD
I don't think he does; he used the stereoscope instead. He even has a unique sprite dedicated to just holding the stereoscope in front of his face xD
i know and it's a damn shame TwT
@@yate0128
He has a bunch of silly, humorous moments tho. And it was still pretty hilarious to see him pull out the stereoscope when even the judge was willing to go cross eyed xD
This music is so damn good it makes the hair on my body stand up! XD
"Woopsy I dropped my wine fifty feet into the air"

I only have one thing to say:
LEG
I never expect the "meow" at 0:18
Reading this comment as I'm composing a remix of this theme using meows, what a coincidence
It's just or someone else hear a cat meowing on 2:08 ?
HELP I CANT UNHEAR IT NOW
I wonder if there was inspiration from Baroque era music and styles? It may simply just be the harpsichord and organ, though.
His name is Barok van Zieks, which I'm pretty sure his name is supposed to be based off of Baroque l o l
@@YuntaoChen Ah, the only pun I didn't get in Ace Attorney and it turns out to be a music pun. That is quite ironic.
@@MusicalInquisit lmao
@@MusicalInquisit
Isn't it more of an art/architecture pun tho? Barok is Dutch for Baroque.
His last name "van Zieks" is also Dutch too, meaning "of the sick." Like the Grim Reaper myth coming from the Plague.
@@l.n.3372 Baroque is also a period of music, so it could also be a music pun.

That organ should be illegal
Wait is that an organ? It is isn’t it?
I thought it was some sort of wind instrument
Theme of racism
😂😂😂😂😂
U right
Are you sure it is not the theme of L E G S ! ! ! x3
Phoenix: Racism ends NOW
Athena: THAT'S RIGHT! STOP BEING RACIST
Van Zieks: Nah
Blackquill: Why be racist against japanese?
Everyone: Shut up weeb
@@mariaevens8969 It is lol
Two possible POVs:
1) You are Japanese
2) You have greatly angered Princess Luna
Sometimes I just sit down and wonder exactly how many times the Dies Irae is in this song. There's no way it's not
My headcanon: Barok and Klint are Manfred and Franziska’s ancestors.
As I'm typing this I'm only about I would guess 1/4th into the final chapter of the first game, but I have special thoughts about van Zieks in the previous chapter.
I absolutely HATED how in the 4th case of adventures, van Zieks gave us SO much shit for making our own theories on what really happened, but by the midpoint of the trial hes making theories that only work if he omits circumstances that HE HIMSELF brought up. By that point I was just screaming "van Zieks aint shit" at my screen cus so many of his objections near the final third of the trial felt way too pretentious for how stupid and time-wasting they were. It kinda reminds me of that moment everyone has in AA1 where they realize edgeworth can be just as dumb as phoenix lol. I hope as I progress through the story van Zieks will go through some character development that'll make me like him, and I'm trusting it will seeing how he's so beloved here lol (I'll edit this when that happens)
EDIT: Nevermind I love him now
everyone else: the theme of racism!
me: ah yes the theme of brocon. it even plays in an appropriate scene to press it further
this made me wheeze- also which appropriate scene??
You said that was "brother complex" from another comment. But with the way you abbreviated it, all I can think about is "romcom" like a romantic comedy xD
Centro is a ninja
I hope he is playable character in next aa series.

What type of music could this be categorized as? I want to find similar music to this.
music from the Baroque era
@@jamierooney455 well yes I knew that, what I meant was what specific style of music is this. I now it has waltz elements but is seems to differ a bit from classic waltzes.
@@ElJosher ah right, beyond that i’m not too sure
Vampiresque music i guess?
It reminds me a lot of the soundtrack to Castlevania: symphony of the night.

I don't hate him, I think he's pretty cool, but He's basically EdgeworthXBlackquill. They probably saw which prosecutors were fan favorites and just combined them.
I dessagre. The only thing barok share with blackquill is her edgyness and he not have the "i dont give a shet about truth" on contrary of edgeworth, his past are similar (not exact the same thing but similar) but that all
play the fucking game he actually most competent without any tactic strategy but just pure argument yet intimidating
Honestly, Barok is far more a combination of Edgeworth and Godot, if you pay attention to the moments in game. He doesn't have much in common with Blackquill beyond the whole "appears intimidating outwardly but inwardly he's just a ball of sadness and depression."
@@l.n.3372 fair enough, yeah I was just talking about his design. Godot seems more appropriate now that I look at it again.
blackquill is forgettable for me because I only simply watched a playthrough of Dual Destinies a while back, so I don't remember exactly how he acts in court.
@@VinTJ
Well, I'd disagree with you that Blackquill is forgettable. He's easily one of the best AA characters and not only as a prosecutor. But if you don't even know him at all, that makes your original claim even more confusing since you don't know much about Blackquill and his story.
I don't like this guy at all, maybe just his design, cuz it's real cool, but for the mere fact he brought THIS THEME into existence, I can find it within me to not hate him
This fricking rocks!
The music was brought into existence by Yukimasa Kitagawa and his team. But Van Zieks was a great inspiration.
Why wouldn't you like him at all? He's such a great character O.o
@@l.n.3372 His extreme xenophobia got on my nerves
@@weisstofall2615
But ... He didn't really even HAVE extreme xenophobia. It was more of a personal prejudice/grudge that was souring him years afterwards. And, idk if you played both games, but if you do, then you'd see that [spoilers]:
He admits that he was in the wrong and clearly changes his behavior, all while apologizing for his previous actions.
@@l.n.3372 Ah, no, sorry, I've only played the first, and I did see that it was a grudge. It doesn't change the fact he spent the first few trials using their nationality as an insult. I don't really hate him, but those moments pissed me off

He was medicore prosecutor, like some dark version of Edgeworth, but at same time more boring one, nothing special. Although his appearance and animations are fine.
Soma Cruz I think you’ll like him more after seeing him in DGS 2. By the way, I’d say that you have a great taste in characters judging by who the person in your profile picture is!
Soma Cruz Yeah but dgs2 explores his backstory a whole lot and made him my favourite prosecutor.
I think my least favorite prosecutor is either the guitarist from ace attorney apollo justice or the guy from spirit of justice. I feel like their personalities could've been ....more in depth. But I have high hopes for Zieks haha
I personally found him very intelligent! And the duality between him wanting to beat us on court (the whole hatred for the Japanese) and wanting to get the criminal caught was very interesting to me. He's on the side of the law, above all.
He does get a lot of time in DGS2, and I think he's in my top two, along with Edgeworth.
@@hihey229 well, it's almost all prosecutors hates defense, so hating Japanese was nothing special for me. He and Edgeworth share something relative, and they both never hurt defense physically like others prosecutors. Ah yeah, I am forgetting every time Gavin. I even don't count him as prosecutor for some reason. So yes, as for first DGS Zieks was nothing special, only his appearance is cool. I guess I can judge him completly after I play DGS 2.
