Removing The Turbo On A 300ZX Without Pulling The Motor

- You've seen the complete engine build and install. Today I'm removing a turbo, not only to see how much simpler it is to do over a stock flange, but also to fix an unfortunate exhaust leak.(And also to prove those who say it can't be done, wrong.) With the way I've assembled this vehicle, it has not only made everything work in harmony with one another, but also make it much simpler to work on.

"I want to drive it before something happens..." Sounds like a T-Shirt to me.
Well done.
Full of great ideas🤣
I cant wait for the eventual dyno of this
Just drove my Z yesterday, put some 93 octane about 5 mins from my house. Forgot to install the lower shift boot and learned the hard way that that trans tunnel gets HOT
Great points Billy. The whole "300zx is to tough to work on" applies to the cars of yester year. If you compare it to the cars of today, it actually is not bad.
Exactly!
Great video mate. I love how simple and informative your vids are. Good work brother.
Thanks man! Sometimes I wonder if it's a little too much😅
No man, never think that. I have a 94 TT that has just had a total engine rebuild (not by me). I'm not a good mechanic but watching your videos inspires me to do more myself on my car. Much love from New Zealand.
That's why I stopped working on my Z31 getting too old to get on that hard ass floor concrete, good job bro.
The heat this week has sucked. I've had my coolant gauge spike up a few times while going up and down I4. Guess a good excuse to replace the stock radiator.
Florida is just pre-heating 😅
Could only be easier if the turbos were ar cooled, what a dream that would be. Unfortunately for me Polar came a bit too late on those headers 😟
No coolant lines going to these turbos here 😅
Billy Built notification = happiness
What turbos did you put on it? Do you have a complete build list somewhere?
There's a hole build series on it
How do you measure for a VBand clamp? I need to get a new pair for 3in pipes. The outer diameter of the pipe inclusive of the flange is 3.75in. I dont see Vbands sold for 3.75, so how close do you need to be?
I believe it's measured based on the tubing size. At the outer wall diameter.
What size intake and IC piping do you have? Isn't the Pulsar 3" inlet?
@@threepointoh modified 2.5" ash spec piping. yes it's 3 inch at the turbo.
@@Billy_Built so the intake piping is custom since the Pulsar doesn't have the flange on the turbo for our intake piping?
@@threepointoh the flange is just cut off and replaced with a reducer coupler.
🏁🏁🏁🔊👍😁
I'm stuck wit the stupid N/a motor 🤦
the higher compression, n/a engine is better... and, if you have the balls to stay n/a, it can be made to rev really, really high... with mucho HP's
The n/a car came with the shorter rear end, is much lighter, and can be made into a real handler... particularly with chassis stiffeners and the slicktop.
@@dannoyes4493 I love N/a motors 😈 you can beat on them alllllll day long with no worries of anything blowing up
@@dannoyes4493 Wat do u think about the other hood they have for the 2+2? I heard it's an exact fit
@@kelving.2200 Don't know about hoods...
I keep an absolutely stock appearance
@@dannoyes4493 my mistake it's a trunk hood. But it makes the car look like a Ferrari it's 🔥🔥🔥
Your tires need replacing
They're great.
I feel the steering wheel comment so much. Just finishing my z32 build and everyone's comment is about how my steering wheel is crooked 🤦♂️😂
Unfortunate but true😅
