Proportionally, I think Wildrider definitely looks the best out of the set. Dragstrip and Dead-End have this weirdly wide upper torso that I just can't get behind, and while Motormaster does the best it can with how they've limited him to being just the front cab, I can't help but feel more could have been done with his Commander class price point to better incorporate him combined mode (a grievance I've had with most third party takes). Breakdown's only real failing is the fact he's just a slight retool.
I see a lot of hate for this mold, so it's incredibly refreshing to see someone else who loves it like I do! Excited for Breakdown! Also, if you look closely, you might notice that his main color is actually a REALLY dark green. Which I find really cool and interesting. (Side note, I really like leaving the guns on the legs and having Wild Rider have ankle-mounted pistols. Like Bayonetta or Mercury Black frok RWBY.)
I've been a fan of Mega Man for nearly all my life, so personally I've never really been bothered by the Megaman and Megaman X-ish *chonky* leg and arm design type designs for robots like happens here with Wildrider. I think it can look good and dynamic.
@@TheLazyEyebrow Fair. I think the Smokescreen you showed for example, is a little too chonky below the knees. In part because of the shape of his lower legs and not just the size But I think it works for figures like Legacy Wildrider and Titans Return Chromedome.
"...one that is purpose-built to be a leg..." While this Menasor IS an improvement over the last one, I do miss the Scramble City element. And I guess this is only one less combiner team that Galvatronus can snatch away. lol 7:03 - Oh dear... THAT review is gonna hurt... *grabbing the popcorn*
How am I just now realizing you put in Livesy? Gosh, the reviews sent out as of recently, the tone and humor, I absolutely love it, Lazy!! Keep going strong!!
I think Wildrider is the craziest Stunticon in G1, If I remember in the cartoon he and alongside Dead End pushed Rodimus Prime off the cliff and stole the Autobot matrix found lying in the dirt.
Outstanding look at Wildrider The Lazy Eyebrow!! I'm thrilled that Wildrider was released at mass retail instead of an exclusive the way his Combiner Wars figure was released. Keep on being amazing.
Your reviews are great, I love the technical reflections on the vehicles that the alt-modes are based off of. It's nice that you don't just gush superlatives and repeat the same words over again. You give praise when you want to and where necessary, provide objective criticism
I love how unique the ad sections are, the the classic transformers ad part being stop motion for this makes it great. The fact that It also has an ad/sponsor during this middle part of the video is so cool, very groovy indeed.
Thanks for giving this guy a fair shake and restoring my excitement to find him at retail (hopefully soon.) So many reviewers I've watched dismissed him out of hand on account of the backpack and, after it was announced that Breakdown would just be a retool, it seemed like the community kind of turned on the mold en masse. While my wallet would probably be happier if I DIDN'T complete the Stunticon set it's still nice to have that sense of anticipation, for this figure at the very least, returned to me.
Was not expecting to see Dr Livesey in this video. Quality meme. Wildrider is better than I thought. When I first saw pictures of him I thought he looked pretty bad but he's alright. Maybe I will get him.
