I live in Maine and here state rebate is between $1000-7500 but the car has to be under $50k to qualify, so MYLR doesn’t qualify anymore because of this small $250 price increase. Luckily, I placed an order last night, just few hours before the price increase 😅

I think this change boils down to 1 thing....inducing the pent up demand from people who had been waiting due to consistent price drops. I think Tesla believes there are a lot of people waiting to buy because they want to see prices settle and think another cut could always be right around the corner. This SMALL increase keeps the pricing where Tesla thinks they need to be to support demand while putting a little fear back into the people who thought that more cuts could have been on the horizon. It's all psychological to get them to finally pull the trigger instead of waiting for more cuts.

I was just in Vancouver and the sheer number of Teslas there is astounding! We had to pause our Punch-la game because I was developing bruises.
It seems to me that Tesla is taking the next step in pricing technology. We used to have dealers with markups that were negotiated -> manufacture “pure” pricing with dealer markups -> Tesla direct sales -> Market “live” pricing.
In the long run, this is much more consumer friendly and strong for the brand, though it will make the stock market mad. I hope that Tesla just does not care about the stock market and is focusing on the consumer (though I own a lot of TSLA).
Reminds me of the old idea that profit is a side effect of focusing on the customer.

Buying an ICE car these changes to meet margins are covered over setting the MSRP high. Direct buyers see every nuance, we do.
    Also...
MYLR bottomed out at $51,990 for 24 hours in 2023. I got one of those.

I am a big fan of Toyota and i have own almost every vehicle of them, i do have currently a gas model of highlander SE, i am in a situation where i want to buy a highlander Hybrid XLE and a Rav4 hybrid for my brother. But also test drove a Tesla Model Y LR. We were laughing after the test drive. What a cheap quality car, so much uncomfortable.Huh! how come people are spending so much money and buying discomfort just to save some money on gas? Lol seriously, we both drive almost 5k miles each month but still dint even thought of Tesla Y over Toy Highl hybrid. I will never buy such discomfortable car for 50gran, i would love to pay &3k over msrp to dealerships happily🥰

Tesla pricing is revolutionary, just like everything else Tesla does. The price is most likely set by an algorithm, and it would not surprise me if the price is calculated weekly. This demonstrates their commitment to replacing the ICE. It is interesting to note what Tesla sells that does not go down in price; software, the real Tesla product. I am excited to add another Tesla to my garage.
