Freedom of speech is the most essential Freedom we have. We can never get to the truth, without Freedom of speech.
It makes it a lot harder to get to the truth without freedom of speech. And even without the government-given freedom of speech, you still have that right to exercise anywhere you want to, it just might not be a good idea depending on what you say, where you say it or who you say it in the presence of. People aren't always known to back people up in times of danger

I have a QUESTION: WHY was this never a problem in the old-fashioned newspaper industry for instance. Whenever I paid for advertising there I had no idea of what kind of "horrible news" my ad would appear next to. And in this day and crazy age I could not care less if my advertisement should happen to show next to something I might consider "offensive". I want more customers, and as long as they are paying customers I do not even care if they are "offensive" customers. The world has gone raving mad!
Consumerism has blown up and been more “conscious” of how a company operates. Consumers look beyond the product. Who or what the company associates itself with has become extremely important. Problem is people can be foolish in their interpretation some times.

These interviewers try to achieve a "gotcha" moment. They fail everytime with Elon.
The probability of me responding to, or finding any value to advertising is 0.
Mostly ads are less welcome than mosquitos and horribly out of context to the content of interest.
I am more likely to avoid brands that interrupt my train of thought and enjoyment.

IMHO, listening to Elon is the antithesis of ads, compelling, uplifting, high value & worthy of focus.

Advertising has ruined almost everything when it comes to the internet. They are a main reason we cant find specific topics and they should never be allowed to control what we wish to see.
I believe this man is really something special. Someone that only comes around ever so often. Someone who thinks of humanity. Wants better for it... AND has the capability to actually make change. What's more impressive. Is that he didn't get this level of influence by inheritance or dynasty. The man created an empire of impossibility and made it into reality! This kind of human only comes once in several lifetimes. We are blessed to see him at work. What he is doing will shape humanity for generations and we are only at the forefront.

Clearly, Free Speech is very important to him, over money. I totally agree with him. Advertisers still have the choice to advertise or not. What they don't have is the right to regulate the platform they advertise on.

I agree with Musk. But advertising is also a mean to sell bad or lesser good products that would NOT sell otherwise. So a free opinion platform is essential for this as well
And the phony product reviews that make items seem so worth your money deserve to have negative comments allowed. I attempted to post a negative review on the Kate Spade website after they sent me nonreturnable items that happened to be (undisclosed) factory seconds. I was informed my review “failed to meet their standards.” Never purchased nor will I from that brand again.

As an artist, it’s quite depressing to think AI would take my place as an image and color communicator. I really like Elon, but I think scientists rarely care about artwork or creatives and dismiss them as non important humans. I appreciate all of his concepts but he miscalculated the effect batteries will have on our world. AI might make HIS or tech people’s lives easier, but it will cancel creatives. Artists don’t want to be mathematicians or scientists. How will it make me happier to create but no one cares? 🤷♀️ the only thing you can count on is change, but how does a creative stop thinking like that?

You can commission a near flawless replica of starry night for under $1000. You can purchase the original for upwards of $70 million..
You can watch a full length concert of your favourite band on you tube for free. Or you can go stand around in a cramped crowd of people in discomfort and pay $150 to watch the exact same thing.
A.I has no inspiration. It has no back story or incredible life experiences. It's a simulation based upon the collection of data and analysis.

As a fashion designer I used AI yesterday to rewrite an advertisement line for us; it was an enticing and fun message, a massive improvement over what was the original.
I love this guy. People like Elon only come around many years apart. He brings things back to earth, rids the bullshit and exudes common sense. Highly intelligent people like him with vast amounts of money but yet doesn't even own a home. He works many hours a day and hardly sleeps simply because he's different from the norm and people are jealous of him.
As an atheist I believe free speech is super important. I absolutely love educating people on my athiest views and trying to get people to see that religion is all made up nonsense...
