    Despite the negative impact of a recession, it can present favorable purchasing prospects in the financial markets, provided that one exercises caution. Additionally, it can generate volatility, thereby offering advantageous short-term buying and selling opportunities.This is not financial advise . However, it is recommended to consider purchasing assets at this time as cash no longer hold its traditional position of superiority.

    The problem is that most people argue over whether a country should be run as a business or a charity. In reality it's both, and that's where most governments struggle. In trade with other countries, you want to run like a business, getting the highest price you can for exports whilst paying the lowest price you can for imports, all whilst maintaining quality both ways. Running a surplus and making a profit is key. But dealing with your citizens you want the country run as a charity. You must provide housing, education, health care, infrastructure - all the hallmarks of a civilised society. But you're not out to make a profit here. Your aim is to make the best use of your "donations" (taxes) whilst providing all the services your citizens need. Very few governments are able to do both successfully.

    • @mar504
      @mar504 11 дней назад

      The charity part does not make sense for the US. Maybe in a country where government can be trusted and the leaders have integrity, but there is a reason very few people in the US have confidence in our leaders. It's also not a charity when it's OUR money, local and state tax are fine as I see and enjoy those benefits. Federal tax which I pay by far the most to seems to be thrown into a bonfire of mismanagement, corruption, and complete lack of concern over the wildly overspend federal budget. You can't run a charity with 36.6 trillion in national debt, and certainly not while spending 800 billion on military every year.

And the maintenance is considerably less than a gas car. no transmission, no oil changes (no fluid changes in general), brakes last 3-5x longer (regenerative braking), overall less moving parts. An Accord will last around 200k miles on average if taken care of. An EV easily lasts double that. The only negative is battery degradation, which is around 8-12% after 100k miles. Not sure how much it decreases over the next hundred. Also, over 10 years, the cost of ownership of a Tesla model 3 is compatible to a Toyota Corolla, the industry leading vehicle. Advocating for a CEO to run America is tantamount to saying America should be run like a corporation which basically goes against democracy as corporations are dictatorships. Which is exactly what we got with Trump.

    • @Jim_Cpe
      @Jim_Cpe 11 месяцев назад +1

      Trump is the worst example of a "good CEO" and I think you're missing EM's point. A lot of the presidency is about running an efficient organisation. You can have all the aspirations in the world. If you can't make things happen, then nothing will.

    • @Reprogrammed_By_SEGA
      @Reprogrammed_By_SEGA 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@Jim_Cpe Not missing any point, The whole point in a CEO is generally to implement one persons vision and Elon Musk is a perfect example of that flaws in all. You can't do that in a democratic government, The job of President is not to bulldoze over every other elected representative to implement your personal vision, it is about compromise and collaboration. Apparently MAGA Republicans forgot this. If the US is going to go forward then this section of the population need to get away from the myopic idea of one person fixing everything with a hammer.

    I've heard the question "Why don't the best and the brightest seek leadership?" asked over and over to important people during interviews and all of them seemed to not have an answer. It's easy. The things that make people the best and the brightest do not serve them in America's system of political campaigns. America's system of choosing leaders rewards the dishonest more than the honest, the unethical over the ethical, the incompetent con over the experienced straight shooter. And, that is pretty much the fault of the voters. One way of attracting more of the best and the brightest would be to create a series of mandatory tests for all candidates of high office. The tests could be modeled after the LSAT which is the test law school applicants must take before being accepted. It would at least show the public what the candidates know, what they don't know, and what they can do on their own without the assistance of their strategists and speech writers. This would attract more of the best and the brightest into seeking leadership and it would dissuade many of the scoundrels and dummies from getting into the race.
