I don't. I am Asperger and I tried to be social and it was a vicious cyrcle. Now I try to be more logical than social and I support Musk 100%. Without special training in the childhood we autistic people cannot be social in the long run. It's just who we are.

I’m bad at small talk. It’s always talking about the same superficial stuff, and I’m blaming it on my inability to make people comfortable enough to have a more genuine connection.
This is how I feel about myself, too. Sometimes I think it is a self fulfilling prophecy at a certain point. You worry about your inability to communicate and it disables you in the moment. I have been trying to go a little easier on myself and try to focus on asking questions that allow people to talk about themselves and then I try to just listen, maybe ask specific questions for clarity or to allow them to elaborate further. People generally like talking about themselves, lol!

The thing about small talk is that so many people are so bad at it that it actually has become an extremely boring thing to do. What most small talk conversations are about is essentially low key boasting to others while they wait for their turn to do their own boasting. What most small talk conversations are about is essentially low key boasting to others while they wait for their turn to do their own boasting. I think too many people here are misconstruing an aversion to dishonesty as a hatred of small talk.
Small talk is important, healthy and incredibly useful. But, sometimes, people will try to engage you in small talk for totally dishonest reasons - not because they care. Either because they are trying to 'test' you, or just want to be seen talking to you. It's the disingenuous tendencies that people like this bring with small talk that's the issue.
A person who truly hates small talk will be incapable of communicating with children, for instance. Because, that's literally all children do. I doubt that Elon is one of those, since he has kids of his own.
