Thank you so much for all of your videos! I am currently 14 months into my 2021 Model 3 SLR lease. I am looking into the Model S at the end of my lease. Taking my second test drive of the Model S this Friday.
So, Sentry Mode is to record while car is in parking, and Dashcam is to record while car in motion with some sort of events or with touch to save. There is no loop recording while car in normal driving.
The cameras only record when there’s motion. And the front camera does record when you’re driving. It creates little clips on the USB drive, the older ones get deleted to make room for the newest ones. But depending on the size of the drive, you can store a huge amount of clips, so it does cover a number of weeks.
I kind of wish you would have stated what year your car is because we are on our 2022 Model X (Plaid) we had a previous 2018 Model X and i suspect this is the newer model you have because i don't recall a USB in the glove Box. if you would have shown the steering wheel (now call a yoke) i would have been able to tell!!
It's a 2021, I'm trying to get better at saying that at the beginning of each video. I just posted a new one this morning, and I made sure I said it given your comment.
I’ve been posting everywhere asking them to give us an option to turn off flashing lights in sentry mode. It’s totally unnecessary and draws unwanted attention and might piss off someone
It’s to protect other people too from you simply spying on people without them knowing. If your lights flash they know you’re watching, either via live cam or via recordings.

Good choice! Model S long range is the way to go. You will be very happy.
Great tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for your tutorial! Helpful!
Sure, super cool feature. I haven’t seen anything like this in any other car, electric or gas.
Thanks for you video. I used the same SanDisk drive and it all worked out.
Excellent!

Once again, excellent video and content. Thank you
Thanks..,that means a lot
Awesome tutorial. Kudos!
Thanks
Is there a way to have this automatically turn on when you leave the car and turn off when you return?
With Sentry pro, you can also get notifications when there is someone lurking around your car…
Did you know you can get the energy display back in the refresh Model S/X with a voice command? Just say "energy display".
Oh that is good to know, thanks!
I think it will take itself out of Sentry mode if the battery drops below 20%. Not sure of this.
I think you might be read. It does that to save battery as sentry mode takes a lot of power for some reason.
Nice video. Can’t really see the point in getting a new USB- if you format it regularly, what’s the need for a bigger drive?
I thought it was the store and more video clips from the dash cam. Is that not the case?
@@pucaslife i check and delete dash cam videos every time i enter the car...
Time for another video!
Yep just uploading one now!
Time to buy Tesla shares
Yeah, no kidding

Where is the back cameras at on the side ?
I think the rear cameras right above the license plate
Just got new model X. How do I get rid of the sentry mode events notice message on my screen above the wheel?
Not sure....let me know if you figure it out!
Do you live have the option to view live cam via mobile app?
Funny you’re asking this question, I’m launching another video this evening that will highlight the live cameras
@@pucaslife
Just discovered i lost that feature because I did not renew the premium connectivity subscription
why 256gb only, isnt it better to get 1tb instead?
Yeah totally if you wanna save that much footage. Really up to you, I just think the 256 is good place to start

Very good point, I wish there was a way to turn that off as well
